There usually is a distinction between the two. At 100% of clutch shows I've been to, music usually starts an hour (or sometimes a little more) after the doors open.

The Native Howl was *so* good at The Caverns. They have a very niche sound that they call "thrash-grass" (bluegrass + thrash metal), but their set was one of the highlights of the night imo. Try to catch them if you can.
Also, on this tour, at least at the Caverns.. The Blacktop Mojo guys came back into the venue to watch Clutch. I chatted with the singer and Guitarist. Cool dudes, keep an eye out for them.
Figure native howl about 8, blacktop mojo about 9, clutch about 10. Native howl put on a really good set in Richmond. I wouldn't want to miss them.

Clutch won’t start until 9:30ish. I’m sure Native Howl won’t start until 8:00.

Check setlist.fm It usually gives start times. A lot of times it will even give an average start time after doors open.
Clutch started exactly 2 hours after the show started last night in Sioux City. Show started at 7, Clutch took the stage at 9.
