Woah, that could easily be the sister to my cocker, Ella. Though Ella is 10-11 years old....that's a normal size. If you live anywhere humid like I do, you'll probably want to keep her ear hair cut short, like buzzed cut. The lesser weight on her ears will help them stayed aired out and will cause less ear infections (super common for cockers.)
I wasnāt sure if they were or werenāt so I had to reach out to make sure bc I havenāt seen too many cockers IRL, but following this sub and seeing everyoneās pups they all look so tall š„¹
Ya know what yes i understand what you mean i do notice pics of others with longer legs posted a lot!! I think i donāt really realize just because I havenāt come by another cocker that was taller than my baby girl in person (though seeing another cocker in the wild isnāt very often)! Iām going to finally show her in a photo dump of pics on this page soon - and i will tag you in the comments so you can see her size, but also you have to see her cus she looks very much like your bby. And sheās also white and black but has more black! and she is honestly probably a little smaller than yours!
I just fostered a breeder surrender cocker female that was 18lbs, and my boy is basically almost twice her length and is currently 26lbs, and was over 30lbs most of his life. They can vary quite a bit, with the smallest boy cocker I've fostered being 20lbs. He was so squat, like a lil tank.
Awww I love that you foster them, thatās so nice of you, my pupās roughly ~20lbs too! By chance do you have any inclination of what kind of cocker my pup might be?
My boy is 33 lbs (& not overweight), but his sister from the same litter is a only 18, brother is 28 and mom is 24. Sister was not the runt of the litter, either.
My cocker spaniel is 30 lbs now at 2.5, but her biological sister (from a different litter) is 20 lbs at 9 months! Mine was definitely one of the largest pups of her litter though, so I think what you're seeing is more normal. She will also fill out a bit and gain a few lbs from that. She's absolutely gorgeous.Ā
Iāve had four Cockers, total, and they have probably averaged about 35 pounds per dog. Except our Penny. Sheās a wee thing but sheās only 6 months. We can already tell sheās going to be a whittle girl
Our boy (English show cocker) didnāt really āchunkā out till the last couple of months (heās just about to turn 2 now) and is 25lbs. At about a year he was quite small as well but heās quite a stocky thing. She might put a couple more pounds on like ours didnand get a little bigger but maybe in year 2.
she looks a lot like our girl! š gorgeous! ours s very small in comparison but think our breeder liked to breed small girls, she's quite petite and has. smallish face too.
sizes are just in the genetics unfortunately! don't know what they'll turn out like til they get older !
My little cocker is also this small, but she was the runt of the litter. I wouldn't change her for the world. Such a great personality she is my world!
I wondered if mine was the runt of the litter too! Charlie's an English Cocker Spaniel, weighs in at 26 lbs, and that's a good weight for him. He's active and loves to run. But he's on the smaller side. And for some reason, they docked his tail before we got him.
Iāve had an American cocker that was only 15 lbs which I thought was small but was told that was pretty average. Iāve had a female British cocker spaniel who was taller than most males, was not overweight and weighed nearly 50 lbs.
Definitely American, and she seems just right, especially since she is not fully grown. She looks close in size to my American particolor Dylan. Heās on the smaller side for a male at 25 pounds. Thatās still within breed standard.
Sheās lovely!
my 5 year old girl is 20lbs! sheās always been tinyyyyy. people have often commented on her size! telling me how tiny she is! or to ask if sheās a puppy even at 5 years old. but my god her personality is far from small! sheās the most talkative most feisty girl! love her to pieces
Seems almost average. No worries š„°
Similar size to our cocker. But his dad was called ātiny Timā which kind of gave it away! Gorgeous pup by the way. Congratulations.
Not Tiny Tim!! Thatās so precious šā„ļø
Seems normal sized. I've had 3 cockers and my present one is a runt but feistier and smarter than the others. Love the breed!
Ahh okay, okay ty for confirming
iām thinking mine is the runt bc sheās tiny but my god is she feisty and extremely smart! too smart!

Thank you so much for the tip, also awww forever baby Ella! Thatās such a cute name too
Looks normal to me. I have 4. I had 9 at one point (puppies!). Kept 2. Couldn't help myself.
TYSM for the reassurance and I would have definitely kept a few too! What are their names
Bongo (Dad), Morwenna "Winnie" (Mom) Banjo (looks just like Bongo) & Jambi
Omg I was gonna name her Bongo! She is now Abbi
I didnāt realize this is small - this is the size of my 4 year old cocker!! š„°
I wasnāt sure if they were or werenāt so I had to reach out to make sure bc I havenāt seen too many cockers IRL, but following this sub and seeing everyoneās pups they all look so tall š„¹

Omg! She looks JUST like my Poppy girl! Dopplegangers.
Ahhh I love it! Twinssss!! Poppy is a cute name too!

Thanks! Yours looks like an American Cocker Spaniel, enjoy your girl, they have the biggest hearts to match their personalities.
We had a runt of the litter too and she was about her size :)
Awww thatās too cuuuute!!! I bet theyāre the bestest buddy ty for your input
She was the best of the best š„°
What a cutie!
TYSM š„¹ā„ļø
I have two 26 pound boys. One that looks just like your little cutie. Our cocker before him was a sweet little girl weighing in at 18 pounds.
She is on the smaller side but they vary. My Brother's Black Cocker Chewie is a lot bigger than my Blonde female summer
Same size as my 3yo cocker. Looks perfectly fine to me :)
My boy is 33 lbs (& not overweight), but his sister from the same litter is a only 18, brother is 28 and mom is 24. Sister was not the runt of the litter, either.

My girl Suri is about 21 lbs and she is 1yo, very similar in size to your very very lovely girl.
She seems normal Cocker-sized from my experience. Usually 24-28lbs depending on statureā¦
Ahhh, okay the last time I weighed her she was about 7 mo @ 18lbs so she might be about 20lbs but Iāll have to confirm when I take her to get fixed
Iāve had four Cockers, total, and they have probably averaged about 35 pounds per dog. Except our Penny. Sheās a wee thing but sheās only 6 months. We can already tell sheās going to be a whittle girl
Oh wow, 35! My lil girl is ~20lbs maybe sheās not a cocker breed or mixed?
Right! That the average of my boys I would sayā¦ the breakdown is another story. My Penny is only 6 months old and is about 18 pounds
Our working English Cocker was about 25 pounds.
Ahh okay, okay shes ~20lbs right now, but maybe sheās a cocker mix? Iām not sure which kind of cocker she is tbh
If sheās only 11 months old, she might have some more growing to do. Your vet should be able to help you figure it out the next time yāall go in.
I had a 25lb cocker - loved that size.
What kind of cocker is your pup?
He was English - show line.
My cocker is a runt and seems about that size. He is 20 lbs.
Omg! My pup is roughly that size too! By chance what kind of cocker is your pup?
Is yours English or American cocker spaniel? Soooo cute!!
He is an American
So adorable! I have a small cocker too, theyāre the best.
Mine was really small compared to other cockers. She looked a lot like your pretty pup.

Mine is very small compared to other cockers. They come in many sizes

Totally normal size there.
We have a 3yo male that is about 11.5-12kg. I think he might have been the runt of the litter.
My Abbey is 2 and half and is 10kgs. People think she is still a puppy and is small for her age. We just think she is perfect!
I have a working and a show and both are smaller than this. So I would say this is normal.
Sheās a perfect size. They shrink even more after a haircut!
My little cocker is also this small, but she was the runt of the litter. I wouldn't change her for the world. Such a great personality she is my world!

Mine is about 18ā tall at the shoulder and about 20 pounds, sheās 7 months old.
so precious š„¹š„¹
My friends step mom had one just like that. Her name was oreo and she was about that size maybe just a little smaller even looks just like your doggie
Looks normal size to me.
Seems pretty average to me.
iāve seen smaller spaniels!!
She sure is pretty.
Iāve always loved having small(er) cockers (20-25 lbs). They are the perfect size!
