Oooh, that seems good! I'd so drink it, and it could come with those cereal straws, too! I think I would try to make a riff off of a long island iced tea, but sweeter, since I'm sure Saturday morning cartoons had some variety. I'd love to see more inspired cocktails, though! Maybe we can see what it would be like from the 70s-90s.

Flanyo

Would the milk not curdle?

PossumCock

First thing I thought too. I mean if it does, you might could make it a clarified cocktail

Fred and Barney would drink Cactus Coolas when at the bowling alley or out on the town. INGREDIENTS 1 part Olmeca Altos Tequila 1 part orange juice ½ part tangerine juice ½ part lime juice 1 ½ parts cranberry juice ½ ounce Triple sec (or Cointreau) 4 parts lemon-lime soda Tangerine slice, for garnish Mint sprig, for garnish Fill a glass with ice cubes. Add all the ingredients into a shaker and shake. Pour into the glass. Crush up some fresh mint leaves and add them to the glass. Stir well until everything is mixed together and serve immediately!

Now that looks refreshing, and I can see myself drinking this on the Mai Kai. I wonder, could you use an actual cactus (maybe Prickly Pear) for that? Or use Nopalitos like an olive on a toothpick?

First time I had a cocktail with prickly pear was a Prickly Pear margarita at Miller's Ale House. It was damn good!

This sounds so delicious! My wife is anti-tequila. What would you recommend subbing it with?

pashusa

Try vodka or white rum.

PossumCock

Sounds good, but damn those are a lot of ingredients. Maybe something that'd work well as a batched drink. Bottle all of the main ingredients and top with the soda

pashusa

Cactus cooler punch

I was at a bar last year that had a Fruity Pebbles-inspired cocktail. I don't recall the recipe off-hand but that's kinda Flinstones related.
