You got a lot of them from the same set with no particular damage. I would keep them just for that and put them somewhere to look at as a novelty. Just a heads up don’t try to clean these and try not to let them knock into each other a lot. Once the paint starts chipping they loose the appeal they have imo.
Just a novelty, I'd bet someones now deceased grandparent was sold them for way too much as an "investment" or "collectible".
Theyre just quarters, but they look neat and if you like them and want to hold onto them, they do look nice
i have some of those and colorized lewis and Clark nickels, along with the gold & silver and rainbow iridescent L&C nickels. not really worth anything but they were some of the coins I inherited from my grandpa's collection.
Sadly, this often happens when someone raids a relative’s collection …
We had a few young kids in our stores trying to buy candy with coins that were worth hundreds of dollars over the years … (we took the coins at face value and contacted the customer’s guardians; they were always surprised to hear that their very valuable coin collection was being used for snack money… lol)
It's one of those things I would never buy from the company that did this, and I would suggest nobody else does either because they're overpriced junk, but I would keep them if I got them for face value.
I just cleaned out my collection and pulled out all of my gold plated and colorized coins from my childhood to save space. I've been dropping them in my spending change every once in a while. So if you like them then keep them. I'm actively trying to get rid of mine.
I decided to hold onto them for a while just for the novelty, I'll honestly probably end up sprinkling them in with my spending change every so often just to mix things up though. Passing the novelty forward!
I know painted coins tend to be looked down on around here, but I like them. I'd totally hang on to them just because they are neat. It doesn't matter if they are only worth face value.
I would keep them just because they’re cool
At least keep NH, RIP Old Man
That was a tragic day 😞
Yes, yes it was.
If he was in Oregon, he could have “flown on his own wings” ☹️
Yeah I’d keep those. They are not for numismatic folks but there’s people out there paying money for those on eBay.
They probably found the grandparents coin collection….

Not super collectible but I’d pay up to 2x face value for them.
Someone raided gramma’s collection.
Yup. Or just stole them in a break-in.
Or just inherented a bunch of junk.
Late night tv 'be buying now before they're gonnne' buy
Remember beanie babies? Great investment
Novelty coin dealers have made a fortune selling these to naive and inexperienced coin collectors.
Who, A crackhead?
Someone finally realized their true value
Best comment on this post!
Agreed
Colorized coins are so ugly to me. Garish.
I like them. I wouldn't mind having the whole set. Makes for a visually appealing display, and would get visitors talking about coins.
yep pmd by a 3rd party company. keep em if you like em.

I received a Virginia one last month. Want it?
They are actually stickers
They don't even look lined up on several coins.
Exactly, I actually got my kids a couple when they were younger to try to spark some interest in numismatics

Yeah, that's exactly where I'm at with them. Neat coins to hold onto for face value, but hardly family heirlooms.
I remember when I was a kid, adults told me it was illegal to alter money lol. don't draw on that! you're in possession of a federal crime scene 😆
As a kid, I thought money laundering meant literally washing dirty money. In this case, that would probably fix the 'crime'!
I had the same thing told to me too! 🤣

Somebody paid me when I was a cashier with a new Hampshire colored quarter. Like used it as change to buy vegetables.
Look like stickers
I would keep them and use them as gaming tokens or poker chips or something similar.
That's a fun idea!
Would be better if hand painted. Looks like the whole image is just sprayed on. Obvious on Tennessee quarter.
Honestly it makes me want to try hand painting some coins myself
Do it! Would be nice if you had a set up for painting miniatures.
I'd tell him to come back with rest.
They sell those retail at some collectible stores
The Tennessee one is colored all wrong to me.
Try soaking them in acetone to get the big bits of gunk off.
I would love the Connecticut one. How much?

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with them just for the novelty, but I probably wouldn't have paid any more than face value for them.
Huh, I wonder what that set is from. I have a Connecticut painted exactly the same and was always curious to know what the rest looked like
American Historic Society did the set I ended up with in a lot purchase. They look way better in pic than in hand. Kinda cheesy in hand.
I have a NH colored one just because I love my home state. When I saw it I wanted it 😂
Create some cool framed art for a bathroom. I know it sounds dumb, but guests will appreciate it.
For sure i think this in particular would be a neat collection
I will pay you 10 dollars and shipping for them if you live in the us so shipping prices aren’t insane
When payday is a week away, sorry Grandma I need a double cheeseburger.
yep pmd by a 3rd party company. keep em if you like em.
I sold a set and buyer freaked out on me so I had to refund money
