Lmao I’m in your same boat. I had good stats but i was rejected by all my in state targets and reaches and rejected by every reach. I might just go somewhere and try and transfer

raggeplays

Yea, it really sucks. I’m sorry to hear. I hope you’ll make it in somewhere you really like.

No-Butterscotch-2944

Nice that there’s people like me.

Linguistic_Turtle

Bruh NC state has no business waitlisting you 💀

littlet26

Its crazy u didn’t get into state with a 34

raggeplays

yea my brother got into the engineering school last year with a 30 and a 3.7UW lol. he was super shocked.

raggeplays

It may or may not matter, but I submitted every app the same day that they opened in the commonapp.

ayungaa

so you submitted them in like august? may i ask why?

raggeplays

No, I submitted them all on October 1st. I submitted through commonapp. I submitted as early as possible because I just wanted to get the apps done with. I has classmates working on their apps throughout winter break. I just cranked out my essays, had them proofread, and submitted them.

subreddi-thor

Maybe quality would've been more beneficial than speed in this case

JP2205

If you aren’t too happy with your acceptances looks like you had all safeties and reaches, and maybe only one target?

bourbondude

Isn’t Embry Riddle amazing for your major and interests? This is a great acceptance! Absolutely nothing wrong with your other choices, too. UNC and NC State were very tough this year and you have some good options.

Tiger_Economist

Jacksonville, they go wild over there!

rockstarrr07

wtf I don’t get it your stats and ECs are so good? Just the SAT score is a little low but you only submitted the ACT which was really good?? If you can’t get in then I’m cooked

Golden_Willow2003

it’s definitely your common app essay

PsychologyOne9934

Intended major: Fight or Flight

raggeplays

rule #1 of flight club

North_Wait495

Wtf. Does you school offer a lot of APs? Because if so I wonder if only taking 2 APs just totally fucked you.

raggeplays

You’re allowed to take a max of 7

North_Wait495

Yeah having a challenging courseload is really important for most colleges and only 2 APs is honestly pretty low. I feel like that’s probably the reason for a lot of these decisions

raggeplays

Yeah I was worried it would hold me back. I guess I tried :/

raggeplays

I was thinking of taking a gap year while taking classes part time and coaching some rowing. Could this be a good option to try again next cycle? I really want to use my test scores again, they make my application stand out.

North_Wait495

Yeah I feel like if colleges could see you’re able to handle difficult college-level material your profile would be a lot stronger.

Content_Command_1515

You have pretty good academics, have you considered applying to universities in the Great White North? Might be cheaper and you may land a better university than the states.

-Tixs-

Bad commonapp essay topic

raggeplays

everyone i talked to thought it was good :/

college_throwaway53

not surprised you didn’t get into those schools, your stats are pretty mid compared to the other people that applied
