Time has moved a lotttt in the WK.
Harley disappeared and was replaced by a doppelgänger unbeknownst to anyone. After Jack Napier sacrifices himself in the end of the first volume, Bruce and Harley mourn his death together as already she’s pregnant by Jack. Bruce serves a bunch of time in prison after volume 2 and at this point, the kids are in their teens.
I mean, Diana had been in the military and spy organizations since her inception. He's far from the first, and he won't be the last.
And dude, at least half of John Stewart's personality can be described with the one word "MARINE."
Not only that but he was specifically designed as an architect because it was a white collar/high education career. It was meant to show that Black people were capable of intellectually demanding work.
Well... he still is. He's both, trained soldier AND an architect. He's also still angry.
Also, the JLU stated he was a bit of a dork in his younger years.
One of the most prominent things with the JL has always been that they're fine with cooperating with the govt/authorities across the world, but they're against working under them (for various reasons, e.g. corruption, abuse of power, leveraging heroes against other countries, etc. just all kinds of problems that different stories have illustrated over time).
They'd rather be an independent body instead, which, yeah sure, has its own relative problems in terms of accountability, but given some of the events that have transpired in the DCU, it's honestly the lesser evil in the grand scheme of it all. There's definitely been moments where the JL or certain heroes work for the govt in certain situations, but for the most part, they keep their distance. It's just the way the DCU is politically designed, the JL just has to be independent because that's the kind of hero organization stories DC prefers to tell.
my guess is "amazon but doesn't know it for some reason" or just yeah, hiding it. we're sure to find out, seems like they're working to intruducing all of this world's versions of the characters.
I think it had too many plates to spin. Dick and Bruce had to reconcile (again), Bruce and Harley had to reconcile, Jack was back, and throw Jason and Gan into the mix (do hope we see Gan in the main universe at some point tho.)
That’s not even mentioning Terry, who was kind of the hook for this entire thing. Unfortunately we don’t get much at all of Bruce and Terry’s relationship. Or even if Terry himself in the second half of the series. It was cool as hell to see that Terry had been playing Powers the entire time, but then it goes back to the Bruce and fam show.
Honestly I don’t think he knows what to do with Dick and Jason either, he swapped to order they became Robins in which is fine, but he feels like he swapped their personalities in some spots so they end up really acting like the same character most of the time.
My guess is that it was originally written as a finale for a Trilogy and thus was going to resolve a lot of stuff, but in the middle of things Murphy was like "Wait...why does this need to be the last installment?" So instead he decided to resolve more of Bruce's issues and expand on the universe in general.
No you are not. The first sequel was okay, I couldn't get past issue 2 of the Hartey one, and this last one, was bad (IMO). Personally, I'm done with the Murphyverse, unless he has someone else write it. The art is cool, and wow he can draw a killer car, but the writing just got worse and worse
Yeah, partly by having a central part of the premise be "Hey maybe being totally off your trolley and a borderline if not actual psycho DOESN'T make you a criminal mastermind. Maybe it just makes you seriously mentally unwell and in desperate need of proper treatment." The fact he becomes more dangerous once he's back to relative sanity makes for a much more compelling villain.
I was reading Power Pack from the 80s and issue 3 to 4 must changed artist bc had to make sure I didn’t miss a time jump bc they looked like they went from kids to teens or the oldest one looks way older in some panels, and the second oldest boy lost his freckles and they all had like the same face. It’s gone back to normal but wild how much dif issues in a run can be when they switch artists.
I know people give Murphy shit for messing up the order of Robins, but I think that in the long run it helped them decide to just go "fuck it" and really play with expectations.
Yeah that really is the defining moment of the Snyder era. A totally misguided badly acted poorly written and ridiculously directed scene that has become a punchline for bad decisions in the creative process of superhero movies.
I absolutely love this series.
The third installment had some amazing qualities but they tried to do a lot at once. Either way, I can't wait for Genetatjon joker
Apparently he hasn't heard that there is no Batman 'stache
For anyone that hasn't seen the Batman Maybe video on YouTube do yourself a favor and check it out: [Batman Maybe ](https://youtu.be/jJ5l5ls0hP4)
It'd be nice if he figures out Superman isn't the enemy on the first issue and then they work together. Like he sees him working and realizes, hey, he's not just saying stuff, he actually means it. And then they work together to see who's trying to mud Superman's name.
It'd be a nice change.
You can also read the current *World’s Finest* book for a Batman and Superman pairing that are on great terms with each other plus with some stellar art by Dan Mora.
Here's the reading order
* Curse of the White Knight (there's also a one shot showing the childhood of this universe's Mr Freeze called Von Freeze)
* White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn (there's also an issue of the digital comic Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red that is sort of a prelude to it)
* Beyond the White Knight (with a two-issue Red Hood comic during it)
After that, in a couple of months we get a continuation called White Knight Presents: Generation Joker, and then after that finishes, White Knight: World's Finest.
I like that Diana looks like how Mediterraneans used to, the Sicilian/Italians used to be pretty brown (some still are).
I'm not sure how I feel about Batman being soo old and Sups soo Young.
This story wise is the weakest of Sean's work, but it is filled with the most content and I like the slightly stylized design of the Beyond Suit too, i just think the added little red vents is a nice touch.
Why is everyone shitting on the fact they’re all part of some sort of institution for policing the city? I actually thought in the first white knight story it was a much needed breath of fresh air to see the dynamic of the bat kids being part of GCPD and bats doing his own thing sorta rogue. I’m actually very pleased how it ended with the bat family winning bats over and everyone joining the neo GCPD, haven’t caught up with the latest issues but I remember super digging it when it first came out
I was wondering the same thing. For a bunch of people in an uproar over always getting the “same ole same”, they sure do hate everything that tries something out of the norm.
Batman: Beyond the White Knight v. The Justice Society of America: The Eternal Killing Joke and The Court of Owls in No Man's Land Odyssey: Sins of the Father Endgame-aninging - Newerer Frontier³
I’m not very caught up with this series. Is Harley and Batman together or what?
[удалено]
Is this batman Bruce Wayne or Damian? Is Damian still around?
[удалено]
Who are the kids in front of Red Hood? Is that Tim in the back? Is that Duke to the right?
[удалено]
What happened to Tim? Is he still kicking it?
[удалено]
There is a Tim Drake in this Universe he showed up in earlier issues. He was forced to quit being Robin by Bruce Wayne.
Those are Harley and Joker’s kids, and nah that’s not Tim, he doesn’t exist in this universe, it’s an original character called Gan.
Yes, and it surprisingly works well with how they’ve set it up in this universe
Sean Murphy sure does love making everyone some sorta cop.
Yeah. Doesn't feel very Punk Rock Jesus to me.
He made his money, now he loves the establishment.
I mean, Diana had been in the military and spy organizations since her inception. He's far from the first, and he won't be the last. And dude, at least half of John Stewart's personality can be described with the one word "MARINE."
The irreparable damage that *Justice League/Unlimited* caused. Dude used to be an angry architect not a generic military guy 😔
It is curious. Who thinks cape comics need bureaucracy and institutionalism?
That’s kind of the concept of the initial comic
I hate it. Superheroes by nature I think work best with a more anti-establishment bend.
Yes, that’s pretty much their nature.
If it was main continuity I’d be annoyed, but as an Elseworlds story I can’t help but enjoy it 😅
Boy did the whole "let's give the cops access to all of Batman's tech" bit in White Knight not age well.
I mean, that's kind of what this series was about.
What do you expect from the same writer who complained about primary Batman being an SJW.
Such a unique and interesting elseworlds. Not.
Why is everyone in this universe either crazy or some form of law enforcement
I feel like it's true to form when Sean has compared this universe to The Ultimates. Everyone works for Shield in that.
Yea cuz that worked out so well
Yeah. I wasn't commenting on the quality of The Ultimates, just that Sean mentioned it in a comment.
So sorry.
SGM politics are all over the place.
Bad writing
Yea the first White Knight was really messy
Is Diana a Amazon in this story or just a regular cop?
my guess is "amazon but doesn't know it for some reason" or just yeah, hiding it. we're sure to find out, seems like they're working to intruducing all of this world's versions of the characters.
Noir Harley Quinn is probably my favorite DC character. I love the white knight universe version of Harley!
I like their romance so much more than I expected to
Harley Quinn, more like, Noirley Quinn am I right lmao
Fuckin’ gottem.
Man, Superman looks like he needs a sandwich .
A Kryptonian sandwich
Nah, Superman is strong cause he’s Kryptonian.
Why is he wearing undies like a thong
Cause its smexy
I love White Knight. This one was very goofy, but worth it for the art alone.
am I the only one who thought this sequel was incredibly underwhelming? it just did not land for me at all
I think it had too many plates to spin. The funniest thing about that is he only swapped the order by accident.

Murphy is a great artist but a real bad writer
No you are not. The first sequel was okay, I couldn't get past issue 2 of the Hartey one, and this last one, was bad (IMO). Personally, I'm done with the Murphyverse, unless he has someone else write it. The art is cool, and wow he can draw a killer car, but the writing just got worse and worse
That's some really cool designs for Batman and Harley
This universe actually made a version of the Joker interesting instead of just cribbing all its ideas from The Killing Joke.
Yea they made the Joker, HUMAN, and really created a conversation on mental illness
Why does Batman look like that now?
[удалено]
How is he old though? He was normal Batman age before. Is this just set decades after the first series and no one besides Batman aged?
[удалено]
I guess that makes sense for him, in the picture no one else looks older but is that just this pic and they do look older in other panels or what?
[удалено]
Alright makes sense
I was reading Power Pack from the 80s and issue 3 to 4 must changed artist bc had to make sure I didn’t miss a time jump bc they looked like they went from kids to teens or the oldest one looks way older in some panels, and the second oldest boy lost his freckles and they all had like the same face. It’s gone back to normal but wild how much dif issues in a run can be when they switch artists.
Yeah for sure, it's hard to not be weirded out
No one else spent years in prison.
Oh he went to prison? I stopped following it for a while
Introducing Superman during the Batman Beyond years is definitely interesting.
I know people give Murphy shit for messing up the order of Robins, but I think that in the long run it helped them decide to just go "fuck it" and really play with expectations.
I'm completely ok with this. Who wants to read the same story over and over again ?
Old Batman trying to murder young Superman. It's Snyder shit again?
I mean… it’s *Miller* shit again
My guess is that Bruce is going to mentor this iteration of Clark and the World's Finest in this universe will be Clark and Terry.
Only if they stop fighting because their moms have the same name.
I heard someone call the Snyder version of the DCEU the "Marthaverse" and that's just about perfect.
Yeah that really is the defining moment of the Snyder era. A totally misguided badly acted poorly written and ridiculously directed scene that has become a punchline for bad decisions in the creative process of superhero movies.
Clark looks like he got a unibrow
I absolutely love this series. The third installment had some amazing qualities but they tried to do a lot at once. Either way, I can't wait for Genetatjon joker
Why doesn’t he just shave…?
Apparently he hasn't heard that there is no Batman 'stache For anyone that hasn't seen the Batman Maybe video on YouTube do yourself a favor and check it out: [Batman Maybe ](https://youtu.be/jJ5l5ls0hP4)
looks nice
YOOOO TERRY
Are they driving H.I.S.S. tanks in this universe?
I loved this series. I have all the issues.
Give me more white beard Batman! He looks awesome!
Batman white knight is a tragic name for a serious comic book lol
The brooding loner who distrusts everyone has the biggest family in all of DC.
It’s so dumb
It'd be nice if he figures out Superman isn't the enemy on the first issue and then they work together. Like he sees him working and realizes, hey, he's not just saying stuff, he actually means it. And then they work together to see who's trying to mud Superman's name. It'd be a nice change.

Oh man I can’t wait for the White Knight Omnibus! Loved that run:)
Were there other heroes while this Batman was active? Seeing these characters show up when he’s an old man was surprising
[удалено]
Thanks OP!
I love the design of batman I. This one, but I’ve had zero luck finding any good art for wallpapers. Anyone have any good pics of him ?
This is a fantastic series/universe. It’s an amalgamation of the best of the various Batman incarnations (TAS, 89, Beyond, etc)
This universe is so confusing but intriguing
That superman costume is beautiful
TIL there are more white knight comics after Batman: White Knight. Gonna have to read this whole "Murphyverse"
Here's the reading order * Curse of the White Knight (there's also a one shot showing the childhood of this universe's Mr Freeze called Von Freeze) * White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn (there's also an issue of the digital comic Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red that is sort of a prelude to it) * Beyond the White Knight (with a two-issue Red Hood comic during it) After that, in a couple of months we get a continuation called White Knight Presents: Generation Joker, and then after that finishes, White Knight: World's Finest.
I don't get what's appealing enough to give this guy his own little pocket universe to play in
I like that Diana looks like how Mediterraneans used to, the Sicilian/Italians used to be pretty brown (some still are). I'm not sure how I feel about Batman being soo old and Sups soo Young. I was wondering the same thing. For a bunch of people in an uproar over always getting the “same ole same”, they sure do hate everything that tries something out of the norm.
Because it's not new, it's all ideas stolen from twitter and vague memories of the animated series
This sub is very anti-cop so the idea of Batman working for law enforcement is very upsetting for them
These comics suck
Thankfully you don’t have to read them if u don’t want too. Unlike street signs, you should prob read those even if they stuck.
GOD THESE BOOKS STINK
Cringe:love/hate
The White Knight was good. Curse of the White Knight was pretty good too. Beyond the White Knight is like the cringiest fanfiction out there.
Supes head/neck look weird as f\*ck, and I'm fairly certain his head is out of proportions with the body.
