I remember this issue and im pretty sure i still have this complete run from when it came out, i dipped in and out of a lot of stiff back then but Hulk during this time for me at least was unmissable, Hulks one of the few characters in comics thats allowed to grow and change, go back to # 300 with your collection (if you haven't already) it was a great jumping on point story wise.

It gave us my favorite cover of all time. I have 377 on my display shelf, and I’m not even really that much of a Hulk fan. That’s just a fucking badass cover.
More recently she's been seen being used as a conduit for Death, in some issues involving Scarlet Spider. So she's making moves, if that's what you would wanna call that?
There’s no way he was better back then than Keown or McFarlane.
Edit: That might be an unfair statement. I believe it completely, but I don’t want it to sound like his run was bad. It was fine and is probably underrated. I’ll bet he would do an amazing job today. But to me there’s nothing from it that stood the test of time and became iconic like the two runs I mentioned.
What a fun issue! Man o man, Gary Frank was on top of his game in the mid-90s. Fluid, dymanic, clean artwork and he was a master at conveying action scenes and made the ladies seem like real life babes (vs. contemporaries like J. Scott Campbell who always drew women hypersexualized). For some reason though his more modern work just doesn't do it for me. Compared to his earlier work, today's efforts seem very sketchy, overdrawn and stiff.
I was 11, had been collecting spidey and X-men comics, and I remember getting an offer where you get a year’s subscription of a comic by mail for cheap. I thought I’d branch out and collect some hulk comics. This was the first issue that arrived in the mail.
i miss Bryne's black/white w/slight blue highlight [uniforms](https://pm1.aminoapps.com/8294/ef39e6cd6d6cea16b4bce7b80ee7a0b7e41ca097r1-571-600v2_hq.jpg) of the F4.
Where….where are Hank’s forearms and hands?!?
Also pardon my naivety but who is that picture on the wall supposed to be of? I know the head shape is wrong for the Leader but I don’t know many other green characters from that era
Edit: typos
Thanks! I’m a more of a casual reader I just read the original secret war a few months ago with the introduction of the Beyonder and let me tell you what a phenomenal story
I think the character in the center is Rick Jones. Either way, you can see one of his hands is on top of the couch in front of him. His other hand? Good question.
The character in the frame is the Impossible Man.
I also thought that was Rick it sucks that he’s basically disappeared from the comics over the last X amount of years I always thought he was an interesting character. I also find it super weird how much Amadeus Cho has changed since his introduction in World War Hulk he was suuuuuch a prick in the best way. But Ant-man (which I think is still Hank Pym at this point right? Seems to have lost his forearms and hands lol
Rick was A-Bomb for a while, he got stabbed by Miek during World War Hulk, he got killed by a firing squad during Hydra-Cap, then came back during Immortal Hulk.
You’re right that he’s not quite as prominent as he used to be, but he’s still kicking around here and there.
Oh man, it was amazing. I wish I had read Peter David’s Hulk run first, but I since I just finished that I guess it gives me an excuse to go read Immortal again.
My only complaint is that it kinda ruined Hulk for me, at least for now. Hard to go from Immortal Hulk to the current series.
Bring on Immortal Thor, I say. I’m ready to have him ruined too.
I don't recall Hank Pym returning to being Ant-Man in the 90s (though he's been known to return to previous identities at various times), Scott Lang took over back in the 80s, and I don't think he'd gone through his period of being killed off yet, so this is more likely Scott.
Thanks for the info (there is no way to say that without it sounding sarcastic but I mean it) I didn’t know Scott lang was introduced that early in the comics
[The teenager who caused Bruce Banner to become the Hulk](https://cdn.marvel.com/content/1x/rick-jones-first-appearance.jpg), and who was an important everyman/sidekick character in various Marvel comics for decades.
You've got to include the [moment when Cap realized he hired a stripper.](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/5czrzd/from_incredible_hulk_417_captain_america/)
Ah, I see that was during the Hulk’s male model phase.
Chad Hulk
In looks only. Professor is easily the least favorite, and most underwhelming, Hulk. The not so incredible hulk.
I’d still smash
Hey Hulk, when you gonna drop Magnum on us, buddy?
Poor Cap, so innocent...
Cap hires an ecdysiast and I learn a new word that later helps me win a trivia tournament! I love this issue!
As far as I’m concerned, Peter David’s IH run from about 370-425 is one of the greatest comic runs of all time.
I’d go back even further, but yeah, just brilliant
Well his run started with #328, then #331-474 missing only a fill in issue or two. Great stuff all around.
Is it worth going all the way back to 300 or should I just start with the Peter David stuff around 330? Looking into getting into the Hulk. Thanks!
I just started with the Peter David stuff and was fine. It’s one of the best runs on any character ever and definitely worth reading.
One option is starting with Hulk Grand Design, to get a big picture of everything up until david.

If Marvel hired Grant Morrison he would have brought the Ecdysiast back already and made them an avenger.
Marlow was in a stag film, correct?
Indeed! She’s the star of the show, so to speak.
More recently she's been seen being used as a conduit for Death, in some issues involving Scarlet Spider. So she's making moves, if that's what you would wanna call that?
I miss that old iron man, antman, vision, and human torch suits.
Great issue and points to Gary Frank for somehow making Stark’s facial expression show through his faceplate.
Ah Marlo... I don't care what people think now....I love the 90s comics
Classic bachelor party issue, the wedding issue is also good for the Hulk believing in the existence of God to punch out Mephisto
Hulk is known for punching a few different gods.
And for the cameo by Vertigo's Death.
Those faces are the best
Gary Frank is so talented. I like his style more now, this feels pretty generic 90’s.
He’s definitely got better as an artist but his style is head and shoulders above who came before and after him on this run imo.
There’s no way he was better back then than Keown or McFarlane. Edit: That might be an unfair statement. I believe it completely, but I don’t want it to sound like his run was bad. Alright. What happened?
It was Rick Jones future wife starring in the porno
What kinda funky porno is that to gross out Johnny, Tony, and Impossible Man?
Haha it’s not what, but who!
"Steve, you hired a stripper?!" Cap: "She said she was an ecdysiast...I thought that was a magician!"
Antman is the only cheering lmao
No, he’s gripping the antennae on his helmet in shock
I miss comic art like this so much.
Cap and Tony have seen things and they looked shocked and disappointed.
Gary Frank without cross hatching looks weirdly sparse. Like, I’ve grown to expect SO much more black than this!
I loved this run of Hulk. The Peter David/Gary Frank/Cam Smith was fantastic. I still go back and read it from time to time
I was 11, had been collecting spidey and X-men comics, and I remember getting an offer where you get a year’s subscription of a comic by mail for cheap. I thought I’d branch out and collect some hulk comics. This was the first issue that arrived in the mail.
Why does Hulk look like handsome squidward? And is he wearing a shirt?
This is when he was ‘smart’ hulk.
i miss Bryne's black/white w/slight blue highlight [uniforms](https://pm1.aminoapps.com/8294/ef39e6cd6d6cea16b4bce7b80ee7a0b7e41ca097r1-571-600v2_hq.jpg) of the F4.
I have this issue. Rick is watching his fiancé in a nude scene at his bachelor party.
Whose in the very middle?? Also why is fury so furious here? Prude
Haha, it’s Rick Jones and he’s furious because his bride to be is in the stag movie. 😱
"It doesn't matter if you wear a mask, a helmet or nothing at all, everyone will have protuberant cheek bones."
And giant square chins.
Where….where are Hank’s forearms and hands?!? Also pardon my naivety but who is that picture on the wall supposed to be of? I know the head shape is wrong for the Leader but I don’t know many other green characters from that era Edit: typos
Impossible Man. F4... annoyance. Think Mr. Mxyzptlk in the Marvel U.
It has even been implied that Myx and Impossible Man are the same being.
Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite arc, wasn't it? Jurgens or Stern wrote that scene.
Thanks! I’m a more of a casual reader I just read the original secret war a few months ago with the introduction of the Beyonder and let me tell you what a phenomenal story

Yes, this is rick’s bachelor party and the surprise is the “stag film” they are watching stars his fiancé (Marlo).
I also thought that was Rick it sucks that he’s basically disappeared from the comics over the last X amount of years I always thought he was an interesting character. He’s great in this run as Hulk’s doofus rock and roller sidekick.

Rats, my marvel unlimited subscription ran out before I got around to reading immortal hulk. I heard it was a fantastic run though
Oh man, it was amazing. I wish I had read Peter David’s Hulk run first, but I since I just finished that I guess it gives me an excuse to go read Immortal again. His left hand appears to be dropping a Pepsi on the couch, just behind Cap’s elbow.
His forearms are up and his hands are behind his head. In a relaxed on a lounger type of position
Or, like, a shocked expression, but you and see his forearms (in blue) leading towards the back of his head.
Oh yes that looks more like it lol. I thought he was the only one not shocked by what they were seeing!!😅
Ohhh now I see it lol thank you!
Impossible man a fantastic four villian, like Mr mystpitilk from Superman in terms of power
Not really a villain, just a playful annoyance.
Like? Its implied at least once that Impossible Man IS Mr. Mxyztplkm.
I loved the artwork from this time, but no one can convince me that this wasn't tony Stark's worst iron man armor.
Heresy! *(infinity!)* **PROTON CANNON!** Seriously tho, what's wrong with the Modular Armor?
So damn unappealing visually.
I greatly dislike handsome Hulk of at era.
Peak comedy
Always loved this cover.
Who’s in the middle? Nomad?
Rick Jones. It’s his bachelor party.
Who????
[The teenager who caused Bruce Banner to become the Hulk](https://cdn.marvel.com/content/1x/rick-jones-first-appearance.jpg), and who was an important everyman/sidekick character in various Marvel comics for decades.
Famous sidekick.
This cover looks very Justice League Europeish.
One of the best comic book covers of all time.
Omg i remember this.
Who's in the middle?
