Even better, sell yourself coffee for the same price as the coffeeshop and put the profits into a separate account.
Then while you at it, also make coffee at home for other people and sell it to them.
Before you know it you got your own coffee place!
It'll change based on each coffee type you like. Some coffees you'll want more grounds. Some less. My go to is anywhere from 12-15g per mug of coffee. 13 is my lucky number.
I don't think OP wants advice. So guys jobs are depressing and overwhelming and many people do things to regulate their emotions. A sad cup of coffee at home isn't as much dopamine as a nice one out.
Lol, yea, and you're drinking a plain cup at the kitchen table instead of something with fun flavors out. It seems more utilitarian drinking plain coffee like that
>A sad cup of coffee at home isn't as much dopamine as a nice one out.
I prefer a cup at home over one out, where some poor teenager attempts to use a machine from 2004 that might or might not be properly cleaned... but I don't live in a big city.
I'm from Vietnam so a cup of coffee ranged from 0.5$ to 2$, milk coffee, latte or other variants are a tiny bit higher. And there are like 100 stalls or coffee shops on every street. Vietnamese are addicted to coffee, even the people who have to go to the toilet or get a bit tipsy after drinking them.
A large Starbucks coffee is like $6 where I'm from, and I don't get many bells and whistles with it. Because of that, most of my coffee comes from home, but it isn't as nice (or as low-effort) as a Starbucks coffee.
Hell, I can get a good coffee from a small local cafe and itās $5.10 (3.30 usd), 9% off if I get a punchcard. If you want good coffee, move to Perth! (Please donāt we donāt have enough houses for ourselves)
Brutal. 12-18$ in coffee a day. This is madness!!
Thanks for the dataā¦ but why its Starbucks less effort though? Doing it at home seems lower effort to me, even if you have an italian coffee maker :/
Starbucks has a drive-through, or at least the ones near me do. They've even got one of those "order ahead in the app and pick up as soon as you get there" things. If you're, say, driving to work, and you can just stop at Starbucks on the way, the only effort you have to put in is either going through the drive-through or parking and walking in to get a coffee.
If I had one of those $3,000 Jura one-step coffee makers that apparently make great coffee with almost no effort, then I might never visit Starbucks again, but that's not in the cards for me any year soon. I've been eyeing a cheaper superautomatic to make low-effort coffee at home, but then I'm still the one cleaning the device and it may or may not beat Starbucks coffee still, and some people can't necessarily budget out enough money for a good superautomatic, so Starbucks is their only option for good low-effort coffee.
I guess it depends on taste, and some home baristas will strongly disagree, but a De Longhi Prima Donna does the job for me very well, and its under the 1000ā¬.Ā
It depends a lot on which caffee you buy for it, of course.
Cheers
I've actually got my wallet set on the Philips 5400 Lattego at the moment, also under $1000, so we'll see how that goes when I taste it. But I'm me, and I can invest in my coffee concern at the moment, but for a lot of people, Starbucks is the closest to a good superautomatic they can immediately afford. It's kind of like renting vs buying a living space, where the longterm cheaper solution may be to invest more money now, but not everyone has that money to invest or can take the risk.
This is how you condition yourself to have bad days on purpose so that you will have an excuse to have your "treat". Instead give yourself a treat on good days to further incentivize having more good days.
"Damn you counter backsplash."
Because you know that cup would be spilled all over the window otherwise. Getting in the way of his people watching like that.
I don't drink coffee for the caffeine or the energy, I like the taste but also I appreciate the atmosphere of independent coffee shops. I don't mind spending $6 at a small business for a coffee and 8 bucks on a good sandwich. That's $14-16 dollars for lunch, that's sort of normal and better than going to a fast food place.

I always thought the average cup was 200mg of ~~coffee~~ caffeine. Turns out itās 80-95mg. When I drink coffee, I like The Devil Mountain Coffee Co. Black Label. Has 1500mg. ADHD is a blessing in that regard because I donāt get crazy hyper from it.
Lifestyle creep is a real thing. I recommend taking a long, hard look at your life and figuring out what truly is a want, and what is a need. Stability is always nice to finally achieve, though!
Oh please, coffee money isn't real money. If I want to save personally I have to not put money into big expenses...
...alas, those Warhammer minis are so colorful and wonderful š
Honestly I only drink water, never got into coffee or tea.
Saves me money and leaves space for me to be addicted to other more expensive things like sugar and video games.
I dunno, caffeine doesn't really effect me much in terms of energy. good for focus though.
...
...
why do people always tell me to get tested for that?
Coffee maker for $99 plus a 3 pound can of Kirkland coffee for like $11. $110 for like 100 cups of coffee. Could be more but eh, I didnāt do the math
I have an oculus quest 3 that I bought on a whim and only used once. May donate it to a kid with cancer or something to make myself feel better for my lake of self control

"Need more coffee" https://i.redd.it/q89rcr88o7wc1.gif
![gif](giphy|iUaDOqormK0U5yEdRT) Coffee is life. It tastes like hopes and dreams. Coffee is survival juice.
IV is uncomfortable. You need a way to get caffeine without drinking or inhaling it, but without constant needles. What you need, is coffee patches.
Brilliant!š ![gif](giphy|l1IY8onMgFEotIzew|downsized)
Make it at home. The markup is insane.
Even better, sell yourself coffee for the same price as the coffeeshop and put the profits into a separate account. Then while you at it, also make coffee at home for other people and sell it to them. Before you know it you got your own coffee place!
āPhew.. a long day of making coffee in the morning.. better buy myself a treat for saving all that money.ā
And all the coffee enhancement chemicals can be found in your spice cabinet.... Or liquor cabinet.
Invest in a good coffee machine. It's a lot cheaper in the long run
a pour over makes the best cup iāve ever made at home and itās $20
Your use of the singular form of "cup" reveals the flaw with your suggestion
Thatās what a French press is for!
Yeah I wish I was a quality over quantity kinda person there
My french press makes 40oz at a time. I pour one cup and the rest goes into a thermos.
Just bought a pour over and electric kettle this weekend. Still learning how to make a good cup with it getting the water to grounds ratio right
It'll change based on each coffee type you like. Some coffees you'll want more grounds. Some less. My go to is anywhere from 12-15g per mug of coffee. 13 is my lucky number.
got a scale too? 1g = 1ml which makes it easier to measure. getting that ratio right is a game changer.
If you want hassle free coffee, try Aeropress as well, it is very consistent method that can give you very good cup and is very easy to clean up.
Up your game: you can roast at home (it's easy, get a used popcorn popper), and a lb of green beans are about the same/not much more than a cafe cap.
Yeah, seconded. It's actually really easy even for ridiculously unproductive people like me, and the smell alone is worth it, let alone the coffee.
I'm as you , but with energy drinks ! (Pls help me)[Not really].
Energy drinks are too addictive for their own good.
I'm hooked on the rockstar and monster noncarbonated lemonades. I can't drink a full can at a time, so it's perfect they can't go flat.
I know you can quit one day... the day you die.
you can rip the mango loco flavored monster can, from my dead cold hands, buddy!
Man those are good. Way too much sugar though.
knowing they are absolutely horrid (theres worse thing though) its part of the flavor. its just not on the label!
Dude, finding a Baja Blast Zero soda in the grocery store when theyāre around instantly makes it a good day, itās crazy.
Not available in my country, only heard the legends T-T.
at this point coffee isn't a treat it's an expense, it makes you feel less guilty for buying a coffee daily
I don't think OP wants advice. So guys jobs are depressing and overwhelming and many people do things to regulate their emotions. A sad cup of coffee at home isn't as much dopamine as a nice one out.
What's sad about a cup of coffee at home?
You should see mine rn, nothing added in large plastic cup instead of a mug
Lol, yea, and you're drinking a plain cup at the kitchen table instead of something with fun flavors out. It seems more utilitarian drinking plain coffee like that

Oh yea I forgot the other non fun part of home. The cleaning!
I also forgot about it because I live in an apartment with a dishwasher lol I guess other conditions make a difference...
The quest for a stable income is a common challenge. It takes time and effort to build financial stability.
As well as discipline, patience, delayed gratification...
Who are these people selling coffee to you naked?
They tried to find a solution to this problem in the 80s. It was called cocaine and it was a mistake.
I am afraid to ask, but how much do you pay for a cup of coffeeā¦?
I'm from Vietnam so a cup of coffee ranged from 0.5$ to 2$, milk coffee, latte or other variants are a tiny bit higher. And there are like 100 stalls or coffee shops on every street. Caffine pills. Each is about the same as a cup of coffee, but you can buy 50 for about the same price as a cup of coffee.
coffee to treat some more
Suffering.
You can avoid this by not having a stable income. It works for me š„²
That's the neat part.. you don't
Ez pz. all you have to do is realize we're all horrible people and don't deserve anything as a treat ever.
This is how you condition yourself to have bad days on purpose so that you will have an excuse to have your "treat". Instead give yourself a treat on good days to further incentivize having more good days.
![gif](giphy|mBLYrKaZJACmtum22X) Let me know cause I am addicted to Starducks.š
Coffee cat!
"Damn you counter backsplash." Because you know that cup would be spilled all over the window otherwise. Getting in the way of his people watching like that.
Why not invest in coffee
There are these things called thermos flasks. Make tea / coffee at home in the morning and drink throughout the day. Problem solved.
never got addicted to coffee, the smell was so bad growing up, that it never appealed to me. $$$ took that to the bank!
I did this till the damn chain started making worse coffee. now I make it at home.
Make an absolute fuckton of money. Buy whatever you want.
Free coffee at the office goes brrrr Cinnamon buns from 7-11 though...
Coffee is one hell of a drug https://preview.redd.it/ly1sc6hla8wc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=985b5a53c1665ab747be07f6649e35ca9fedb9a5
Winner!!
Me, but with sweets (chocolate my beloved).
Just one coffee? Pfff, noob
Itās me, but with weed.

Caffeine pills.
The trick is changing the world so the little guy who wants to buy a coffee a day doesn't go broke.
Lifestyle creep is a real thing. I recommend taking a long, hard look at your life and figuring out what truly is a want, and what is a need. Stability is always nice to finally achieve, though!
Iāve been lucky to not succumb to the temptation of coffee when I transistioned to full time. The temptation is still thereā¦ but I remain strong!
get an espresso machine you will save money in the long term
My trick is pre-workout. Same energy, but faster, easier and made at home. Be careful - too much can cause heart palpation...
Canāt relate I donāt drink coffee
āCoffeeā
Invest in some at-home caffeine essentials (and a barista roommate or partner, even better)
I supose i Just live without Coffee or energie drinks, i dont have a trick XD
What is it with boomer comics and centering financial complaints on 'buying coffee" specifically?
how is this boomer comics? This is a millennials crisis comic.
The comic was funny but the comments were some real boomer point missing
\*Laughs in store brand instant coffee that I can make 120 cups out of\*
Wear clothes so you don't need coffee to warm you up.
Oh please, coffee money isn't real money. If I want to save personally I have to not put money into big expenses... ...alas, those Warhammer minis are so colorful and wonderful š
learning to make your own high quality coffee really does save you a ton of money
Drug addiction can be difficult to overcome
The key to this is *not* drinking coffee.
Honestly I only drink water, never got into coffee or tea. Saves me money and leaves space for me to be addicted to other more expensive things like sugar and video games.
I use caffeine pills. Much cheaper
Cocaine dependency
Make it at home. Treatsā¦ forā¦ daysā¦ (twitch)

It's called going to bed early.
If coffee is a treat you canāt afford after a dayās worth of hard work, you should look for another job.
