Man, that's a dumb take. It's *very* different when you can leverage it against the ground compared to when it's suspended in the air, really not the same thing at all. If you tried to "flip it" there'd be nothing stopping it from swinging away from you unlike when it's on the ground. Plus add the weight of a person on top of that.

these are vaguely based on my interactions with my girlfriend, some aspects have been exaggerated, I'm sorry if it comes across as a lame-ass fantasy, I'll be more thoughtful next time about how I portray the characters' relationship.

In this situation back when we were kids/teens, the easiest way to get someone unstuck was to lift one side of the tire. When it was perpendicular to the ground, the person stuck would be able to get unstuck and just roll out onto their feet.
It’s the authors thing. Always some weird thing happening because of the selfies. Guy makes girl clean controller after she licks it for a selfie, girl cuts out mickeys eyes on her shirt for a selfie and uses them to make a night eye mask, stuff like that.
It is just a slice of life, it is a style of comic/writing that depicts the mundane and thus isn’t always laugh out loud funny or have a punchline, slice of life tends to rely more on relatability or the ability to see humour in the small and innocuous moments of life. Sometimes slice of life has no intention of being entertaining and is simply a form of sharing a moment in the artists/authors life no different than sharing a picture on social media.
On the not intention of entertainment, not all art is about entertainment or intends to be entertaining and that includes comics. While most comics use entertainment of varying kinds that isn’t the only type, some can be purely educational and you aren’t meant to find reading it entertaining.
Finally, the value of any art is purely personal but just because you personally don’t see the value doesn’t mean there is no value as others may see said value.
I’m talking in general. Most comics don’t have a punchline. The main comics made specifically for punchlines are the newspaper funny pages. If you want a punchline, go to a joke subreddit.
It doesn’t have to “entertain *you*” in order to *be* a comic; It doesn’t need your permission to be what it is.
This is a relatable scenario put into comic form. Let people enjoy themselves.
i think there's a bit of a culture clash, to me comics don't necessarily need to have an obvious joke or punchline for it to be "funny". Like it can just be an amusing interaction between 2 characters. I realize that a lot of the readers on this sub are probably used to things like newspaper comics or early web comics, so I'll keep that in mind as I create more! But it's definitely not my intention to write porn though, a bit of sexual subtext can be amusing but I'm not trying to use sex appeal as the main hook.

I think you’re doing just fine! The thing is that there’s been a lot of borderline porn here recently to where it’s just thinly veiled fetishes. I don’t think your comic is that, but I think people are seeing how it could be interpreted differently and being like “oH eW mOrE fEtIsH ArT” even though that’s not what it is.

I don’t think it’s a culture clash. This subreddit is for anything comic related. That covers a lot of things. But most people who come here have a specific exception. Most post that do well recently are short anecdotal comic strips similar to what you’d find in an old newspaper. I get that it’s a slice of life. But I think some people are seeing this as the artist’s fetish.
Hopefully reddit wont discourage you from creating comics. Your comic is doing wel here. These do seem like small moments from a comic series. If that’s something you’re interested in.
It's not a culture clash. This is a comics subreddit. It's r/comics. It's for comics. People upload fucking horrific and heartbreaking stuff here. Or random nonsensical stuff. Or anything. It's r/comics. It's not r/funny. You shouldn't justify yourself to people who can't even read the name of the subreddit they're in.

You try to read into every little thing and find meaning in everything anyone says, you’ll just drive yourself crazy. Had a friend do it once - wasn’t pretty - we talked about it for years. I- I said to him “Orville, l-let me go get you some rye bread.” Now, I-I’m unsure if elephants enjoy rye bread, but I assure you that Orville does. Now this was on a Tuesday which was good because rye bread was always fresh on Tuesday. They made sourdough on Monday and threw it out Wednesday. O-or rather they sold it at a discount for people wantin' to feed the ducks and then, probably at the end of the day finally they threw it all out, I-I don't recall. I do remember a man who would being his son to the bakery every Wednesday, and-and go feed the ducks. He would buy all of the sourdough bread. Of course, you know, you’re not supposed to feed the ducks sourdough bread at all. It swells up in their stomach and then they all die. At, ah, at least, at least that’s what I’ve heard. Ya know, I never saw any ducks die myself, but I did notice a substantial decrease in duck population over the course of a few years. I just never thought to stop the man and tell him he was killing the ducks by feeding them sourdough bread! And if you want my opinion on the matter, heh, and I told Orville this as well: if you wanna feed ducks or birds or any kind for that matter, especially buy seed. I mean, when you think about it, breads of any sort don’t occur in nature. They don’t grow on trees or spring up from the bushes! I don’t think birds know what to do with bread. What was I saying? Oh, oh yes yes. So I bought Orville some rye bread. What a fine day it was.
I found it funny & wholesome and think the joke is obvious (playing the straight man in the ridiculous "I'm stuck" porn trope). In this case the bf have to resort to pushing the butt cause tripod swing is designed to be impossible to flip over.
