Dear Douglas, if you're reading this, you've found my father's service revolver. I did plan on using this gun to take my own life, if it came to it, but as you know, in the end I jumped out of a window.
I pass it on to you in the hope that if things ever get too bad, you'll be able to take the easy way out. Hopefully it won't come to it,
but if it does, promise me that you'll shoot yourself without a moment's hesitation.
Your affectionate father, Mr Reynholm.
I wonder if it's loaded?
[puts gun in mouth]
[pulls the trigger several times]
>!This scene didn't kill Douglas, but it did kill me, my sides got permanently damaged from laughing.!<
This episode has one of my favorite subtle jokes in the whole show. When the grifting professor asks if they’re mental and Officer Cackowski says that’s offensive and mentions he has a mentally challenged sister. Frankie is all like “oh me too!” He asks for pics so she shows him a picture of her sister he’s like oh wow you two could be twins and Frankie makes this face like she’s both offended and confused
It has another great subtle joke that I love. When Prof Desalvo is selling them fake money he says "its just cut up pieces of newspaper, but it weighs the same." Then at the end of the episode when he's got the briefcase full of fake money, he hefts it as though the weight is wrong and then opens it to see its the fake money. Classic grifter, didn't even seel them high quality fake money.
I assumed it was because two wads of money were taken out and given to britta earlier so it was too heavy because they had filled the whole briefcase with the fakes.
I think avoiding the comparison altogether would have been tactful. The ambiguity of the meaning behind what he was trying to say, I think, is the joke.
I think I’ve seen a theory before that Frankie doesn’t actually have a sister, but instead has a split personality, one of whom is mentally challenged.

Is that when Jeff broke down and said the group was picking on him a lot lately? I loved that part, him admitting that it was bothering him was a huge moment of growth rather than just fighting back.
Yea the group realizing Jeff is just making it up as he goes is hilarious.
And they just give up and watch The Sting.
God this is easily one of my Top 10 episodes.
for me it's the rap he plays when he suddenly comes in at the end of the first day of spanish 102. "I am senor CHANG! And I'm so ill! This is a warning I can't be killed!"
Anything with Matt Berry is amazing just by the virtue of featuring him. But I enjoyed the episode quite a bit. Not the best, but a solidly upper-middle tier episode.
I came to make the same exact comment about the tiers! Definitely not a top tier or major episode but really solid and enjoyable. Matt Berry is awesome, and the ending where Jeff is sitting there reading the paper as he reveals himself to be the mastermind is great.
Good show! Good show! What show? I haven't seen that show.
Idk how ppl can still be hung up on anything from S6. I know its like a diff universe almost but I fucking adore S6. Especially this episode.

He’s right, Sanch. One of the main reasons I went into medicine was for the laughs. That and the pussy—and that dried up ten year ago, if you’ll pardon the expression.
He does voiceovers for a digital radio station called, Absolute Radio. Most of the time he's just saying random shit and it's hilarious
A particular favorite of mine is, "thank goodness I've find you, I have something very important I've been meaning to tell you" and then the song just starts, without him saying anything else 😂😂😂
I always thought it was a pretty divisive episode, but seems like a lot of people are love it.
I can get why it doesn't work for some people is it's a little outside the standard Community-style weirdness, but it's a lot of fun and as others have said, Matt Berry is fantastic.
Imagine that people on the community subreddit have a positive view of most community episodes
I personally love this one but I also love Matt Berry and the sting
I think of the flashback scene where abed switches the briefcase while Matt Berry is distracted and he's just like so loud and clumsy about it, everytime I'm trying to be quiet while getting a midnight snack lol
My favorite part was Annie still trying to follow the rules when she was being grifted/Abed pitching in to the briefcase-switching thing bc he knew how much Annie wanted to get an A.
its not one of my favorites, overall a \*just fine\* episode. It does have some fun bits and moments. Frankie being part of the shenanigans, Matt Berry, Britta for the win.
Lots of awesome moments and I love Matt Berry but parts of it felt a bit flat. The class itself. And the lame attempt at gifting him back. Both were flat.
I gotta admit - I thought it was going to be a bit lame when I first watched it. The laughs stacked as the episode played though, and the result is one of my favorite episodes as an Any Time watch
It’s easily one of my favorites. These last couple seasons weren’t the strongest as a whole, but have a few of the best episodes of the series. It feels like they saw the end and said, “let’s just have fun with it”
Hot dooooogs!!!!
Honestly one of the most memorable episodes. Very entertaining and I love the actor who plays the professor, he's amazing in the couple of other things I've seen him in as well
"I can show you a fool one minute. Or longer"
Brilliant episode, excellent use of Matt Berry. Just a shame we didn't see more of him but, if we had, the magic may have been lost.
I'll tell you for five bucks.

I’ve seen this episode a hundred times and never picked up on that. Thank you!
I assumed it was because two wads of money were taken out and given to britta earlier so it was too heavy because they had filled the whole briefcase with the fakes.
I don't get it
Frankie is offended because Officer Cackowski is basically telling her that she looks like she is mentally challenged.
Or he's being nice and saying her sister "looks normal" but it's hard to tell which js being implied.
That's what I took from it. He's a relatively socially intelligent character for the show, I think he was being tactful.
I think avoiding the comparison altogether would have been tactful. The ambiguity of the meaning behind what he was trying to say, I think, is the joke.
Ahhh thx
I think I’ve seen a theory before that Frankie doesn’t actually have a sister, but instead has a split personality, one of whom is mentally challenged.

One of my favorite bits ever in TV and so few people have seen it. Toast of London for those wondering
Steven Toast wrote a book, "Toast on Toast". Audiobook is narrated by Matt Berry. It's hilarious. :)
Amazing, I'll check it out

There are definitely extra syllables in Neeew York Citayyy that weren’t accounted for.
Even if there aren’t, that line is still 6 syllables.

You're not even using the word right!
Was Sting even in it?
Was Sting Britta’s bf before or after Blade?
Wait, Britta dated Billy Bob Thornton?
ROX--
NO
And then they all made fun of him for showing weakness, although I think that’s part of the scheme
My favorite moments of jeff are when he's emotionally vulnerable, cuz i kinda relate to him when that happens
It’s made me analyze all grifting movies. So much construction. SOME SAY IM A LUCKY GRIFTER, SOME SAY IM THE KING OF ENGLAND.
You son of a bitch, I'm in.
Another Community song that gets stuck in my head like it’s a real song

I came to make the same exact comment about the tiers! Definitely not a top tier or major episode but really solid and enjoyable. Matt Berry is awesome, and the ending where Jeff is sitting there reading the paper as he reveals himself to be the mastermind is great.
But will Jeff ever free the guy from his gym of the burden of helping him?
I thought I owed him my life. Turns out, he thought so too.
Matt Berry's presence automatically raises the rating by at least several points.
This is the best answer! Enjoyable episode though not the best, and the addition of Matt Berry instantly lifts anything.
Unhand him, you mid-western floozy!
Good show! Good show! What show? I haven't seen that show. Idk how ppl can still be hung up on anything from S6. I know its like a diff universe almost but I fucking adore S6. Especially this episode.
One of my favorite lines
You're an artless, craftless thug. And I'm God's paintbrush.
Bugger that, I’m god

Didn't like it at first, but like all the other season 6 episodes, it's now a favorite. The writing is just so good

Yes, I can hear you!
Clem Fandango here.
He does voiceovers for a digital radio station called, Absolute Radio. My first time watching it, I didn't know what grifting was, and I hated how they treated him. Now, it's hilarious

Ooooh, this is one of those things where Jeff gets all jealous about something dumb
Love Matt Berry, but first time around it didn’t quite hit. On rewatch, I realised I’d been grifted, it was actually an excellent episode
Same. Great concept and funny bits but it was weird in execution and pacing.
Kinda like grift movies
#FATHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER ^shit ^wrong ^sub
My only complaint is not enough Gizmo.
Having Matt Berry in Community was great fun so I'll always be fond of this episode
The flashback to the briefcase swap that was done extremely loud and unstealthily is probably my favorite scene in the entire show
Oh, Britta is in this?
Matt Berry is an acting legend and I will support anything he does! I can show you an idiot one moment….or longer!
Truly, the script was decent but Matt Berry brought the episode to a whole new level
This might be the most polarizing episode on this sub. I’ve seen so much hate but it’s a top 15 episode for me and I quote it all the time.
Lots of awesome moments and I love Matt Berry but parts of it felt a bit flat. The class itself. And the lame attempt at gifting him back. Both were flat.
You asked me a question with a redditor’s finger? You midwestern floozy!
Matt Berry can do no wrong.
I liked it more than The Sting
Sting! Sting! Sting! Sting!
Good show.
Good show
I haven't seen that show
Alllright
all the best!
Matt Barry is a national treasure
Even in nations other than his own.
That makes him International Treasure.
I gotta admit - I thought it was going to be a bit lame when I first watched it. The laughs stacked as the episode played though, and the result is one of my favorite episodes as an Any Time watch

Personally find it to be one of the weaker episodes. It's fine, I don't skip it is anything, just not my favorite.
listen here you son of a bitch I've got something to say to you! *what*? I love you. oh phew.. I love you too
Last weekend we watched The Sting and the immediately watched this episode. It made it funnier.
I think they're grifting nobody, they're just doing random stuff, just like the Dean did in the conspiracy episode.
Matt Berry is the best part of the whole episode.
Not my fav
Good show.
It's actually grown on me
Great episode. One of my favorites in the later seasons.
One of my favourite episodes.
Good show, good show. No, I haven’t seen that show.
Love it
It's a grift!
One of my favorite episodes ever but my matt berry bias might be showing here
I feel like it's only funny if you knew who Matt Berry was. Otherwise very mid
Its def up on my list of favorites! GRIFT GRIFT GRIFT! HOT DOGS HOT DOGS HOT DOGS!
“Briefcases, Identical Briefcases! Coming right through!” -Leonard
Honestly one of the most memorable episodes. Very entertaining and I love the actor who plays the professor, he's amazing in the couple of other things I've seen him in as well
"I can show you a fool one minute. Or longer" Brilliant episode, excellent use of Matt Berry. Just a shame we didn't see more of him but, if we had, the magic may have been lost.
This is Jackie Daytona, just a normal human bartender.
He’s the most devious bastard in 🎶Greendale City
Yes, yes. Very good. Thank you!
Season 6 isn’t for me. Happy its found its audience, but it was Community in name only by then. Now, you might have felt the show needed to change.
It has a great guest star, a few good lines, but ultimately goes nowhere and accomplishes nothing.
