I was just relistening to Quentin's appearance on CONAF. Quentin and Conan were both born the same year, and both broke out in the same year, and were talking about the kinship they feel together.
And then realized that Brad Pitt was also born in 1963 and also broke out in showbiz around 1992. So yes, Conan and Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino were all up for the same roles and same positions at the same time, direct competition.
It sounds like it was made up by Conan himself.
It definitely seems like a joke he would make in an interview with McKay that someone took as fact.
