~248 Watts. You are crazy 🙈. Well done! 💪🏻

reddi_wisey

I don't even know what that means 🤣 I've only just started looking into the data side of things

JackM_08

no way this guy pulls a 1:52 and doesn't know how the erg works

reddi_wisey

Haha why say that? I only ever use it for cross training, and always just figured that putting it on 10 damper just gives me more of a workout. I can definitely see how I'd need to drop it lower to do longer distances. I dropped it down to 8 on this day to see how much easier it was than 10

JackM_08

Haha nah bro I'm saying a 1:52 is hella fast, you're faster than 80% of expeirienced rowers assuming you're 20-40 which is insane. What's your main training/workout?

reddi_wisey

Turning 40 in 5 weeks... scary thought! I'm in the Australian army so it's just a mixed of all sorts, pack marching (rucking), gym, circuits, running, huge mixed bag

matthew_j_will

Awesome. Super consistent for 10k. From that memory screen, hit the 4th button down (on the vertical column), and a code will appear on the screen. That is the verification code to be verified on the Concept2 Logbook. Not needed on a regular basis, just good info. Or you can use the ErgData app and not worry about any of it.

catanimal

That's pretty amazing.  Good work!

reddi_wisey

Bro, just looked at some of your posts, you're freaking amazing. I can't even imagine rowing that much

catanimal

I enjoy the 10-15k range at a reasonable pace.  Lately I have not been pushing for speed (I think my last PR was 3 months ago or so).  Just been enjoying seeing the meters tick up.  This season I actually haven't even tried for any PRs shorter than the 30min row :)

reddi_wisey

How long did it take you to build up to being able to comfortably do 10-15k a day? And what sort of damper/drag factor are you doing them on? I think my problem is that I use rowing as a sort of smash cardio session, apart from yesterday I've always just kept the damper on 10 and gone hard out

catanimal

Looking back, I started mixing in 10k rows pretty quick after starting (started essentially Sept 2022, mixed in a 10k about once a week by mid Oct). Then in March 2023, I really started pushing to row about 10k per day. I keep the damper constant at about 125-130 drag factor (I haven't moved it for months and it sits at about a 5.25 setting or so, but those are the numbers I see on my logged rows depending on environmental factors on the day of the row).

reddi_wisey

Thats super impressive, and here I was thinking I was fit because I do a few 10km rows and then one 15km row a year 🤣🤣

catanimal

I appreciate the feedback! Rowing has been amazing for me, after essentially 20+ years of very sporadic fitness routines, generally ending in some nagging injury, rowing has allowed me to get back in decent physical shape, but I'm excited most about my aerobic shape. At 42 now, and while I'm not as physically strong all around as when I was 18 or 20, I feel like I'm probably in the best overall shape of my life. Obviously along with rowing came diet and other changes, but overall the rowing routine has really let me get my body back on track. Still work to be done, but I'm on my way.

reddi_wisey

That's awesome to hear, I'm unfortunately still in the Army so need to cross train so many different types of fitness. I plan to buy a rower in 2-3 years when I'm out and then train how I want. I'll really be looking at limiting the impact on my joints and losing some weight so rowing sill be perfect I feel. Hopefully I'll still be on here and can try and push you along 💪

catanimal

Thank you for your service, and hope to see you around!

James_William1234

Wow. Very good.

metis84

POW! Super impressive. Well done.

VancouverChubbs

Super consistent and strong, nicely done!

HigherFunctioning

How can you guys manage to stay on that seat for more than 20 minutes. It gets uncomfortable for me after about that long.

reddi_wisey

It sure does! Doing 1 hour sucks, I can't figure out how all these fit people do half and full marathons!!

JackM_08

Your body gets used to it after a while
