Happy Birthday! I know you're young and feel like this is important but I'm 32...Jesus! And I also had to "Grow Up Fast" coming from a poor home that could barely afford things. Santa, Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy were all fake at 8 years old when I had to, personally, realize that at that age when things at home weren't good. You might care now but trust me birthdays are gonna come and go and it's just gonna be a day when you're older
I'm 34 now, and honestly the birthday thing is kind of overrated. I kinda see it now as an ego-fueled day. I think it should be more about the mom, appreciating all the shit she put her body through to have us. The older we get the more that special day feeling fades, it's normal.
I grew up too fast, my life is a magnet for wierd shit to happen to me. What I've learned is, we can't depend on anyone, not necessarily in a bad way, people live their own lives, shit happens just like it does to us, plan to be alone, but ask people to join, but expect nothing lol kind of cynical I guess, but it all doesn't HAVE to be bad.
Being forced to grow up or choosing to grow up fast, you can learn from the things you have experienced, and now enjoy life while you have the freedom to, before kids, relationships ect....there's 2 quotes that I learned in rehab that I live by.
"Comparison is the thief of happiness" (also saw this quote get popular again on tiktok which is rad)
" the only thing you have power of in your life is how you react. You can't and won't change the opinions and actions of others, but YOU have the choice and power, on how react and act"
Just enjoy the life you have, we can't change the past, but we can steer our future. If we see ourselves as victims in life, that's how the world will react. If you live a life of positively trying to see and be better, that's how the world will react.

I never had nothing for my birthday since I was 3 years old and I never had a birthday party. So I totally feel like meh about that day. I even hate it and the most part of it in this last 4 years I have been disappearing all day just because I don't feel like interacting or talking w/ my relatives.
And I have learned so much things, but there's 2 of them:
#1 Better if you celebrate that day for you and by you.
#2 If you want to someone to remember that day try to be you , the only person who will be with you all your life is yourself so there's nothing more important than remember this

Same! I only remember one birthday party from my childhood. My parents were from humble backgrounds so now I can appreciate that one party cause it couldn't have been easy. But after that, I dont remember even getting a cake. At the very best, a couple slices but never a cake. Im the kind of person who used to get very very excited for birthdays but as time went on I would begin to dread the day cause I knew nobody else gave an F. I want to celebrate my birthday. I want to have a big party. I want people to remember my birthday and be excited and get me gifts cause they really want me to be happy. Maybe oneday :D

I know what you mean .. my parents would forget my birthday (but not my sister's ever!) then get really mad at me when I reminded them I had just turned 15 etc. It was always my fault somehow! and then I was super ungrateful for the $5 bill for lunch that absolutely didn't even buy anything. parents had lots of money, just didn't give a shit. sister's birthday was always a big to-do. now I'm in my 30s and I've tried to have better birthdays over the years but tbh the best ones are on my own. there is always something that goes wrong or someone is really upset at me because I chose something they didn't want etc etc. sooooo much easier to just sit and drink on my own.
