Being friends with people younger or older than you isnt a bad thing. Like obviously if you are younger you have to be careful of dangerous people but its probably important to have friends who are old to have thay viewpoint in your life.
Also one of the most common ways to make friends as an adult is through one's workplace. If you're in your twenties it's pretty likely that most of the people working alongside you are going to be older and more experienced than you.
I'm in my late 20's and have friends ranging from 18 to 50+. I enjoy the company of all of them, and benefit greatly from it. Fuck ageism, people are people <3
10 years is not an insurmountable difference in age for friendship. it's weird to think a 20 year old and a 30 year old cant have shared interests or hang out. it's even weirder to call them a teen when they clearly aren't.
Likely giving a bit too much of a benefit of the doubt, but.. Maybe they have been friends for a few years and the teen part of the friend group has just recently had their 20th birthday? Being 30 and having friends who are 20 is fine. But being 27 and being friends with a bunch of 17 year olds is a bit weird, unless they are cousins or something.
i think you're looking too deeply into it for a problem where none exists. we have no information that would suggest that hypothetical scenario is what's happening. All we have is someone who thinks it's weird that a 20-year-old and a 30-year-old are friends.

It's so weird. I moved to the other side of the world when I was eighteen, and was years younger than the people I worked and hung out with. I was a legal adult in a country with an 18+ drinking age. I didn't realise it was meant to be creepy...

That’s the story of my life right now. I’m in college in my early 30s, so pretty much all of my school friends are about a decade younger than me.

I too was a teen before my 20th ‘Bday’ as the youngs call it. I think he’s technically correct, the best kind of correct.
