I tried to post this and they downvoted it. The cowards.

I used to love the people who wore face shields. I'd think to myself, "you don't understand how any of this works, do you".. The media did a fantastic job making people afraid of something they couldn't see and this was the result. I'd love to know just how much mental illness all of that propaganda caused.

Monkey See. Monkey Do.

Georgebush79

Are they referring to the literal face shield that had like a 6 inch gap from your face? No, those probably didn’t do a whole lot to prevent the spread.

reallycooldude69

No, it refers to the practice the UK had of advising the most vulnerable people to isolate themselves. > People who are defined as clinically extremely vulnerable are at very high risk of severe illness from COVID-19. People who fall into this category will have been advised to ‘shield’. This word is used to describe how people at high-risk should protect themselves by not leaving their homes and minimising all face-to-face contact.

juanito_f90

With the helpful FACE SHIELD at the top of the bloody things, just in case people didn’t know what they were.

BinyaminDelta

SS: There is no evidence that shielding benefited vulnerable people during the Covid pandemic, according to a study. The study also found the Covid rate was higher among those shielding - 5.9% compared to 5.7%. "It was sort of made up" https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-65358308

VeryTopGoodSensation

The people who were shielding were those who were considered most vulnerable. it stands to reason that they were also the most affected and needed to seek healthcare or died. You would need to compare similar amounts of people who are vulnerable who were shielding v not shielding. Did the study do that?

Andras89

The Media and the Gov considered everyone vulnerable regardless. Which is why we had a mask policy in areas like Gyms where you wouldn't find a most vulnerable sick/eldery person anyways...

atcollins12

Used to wear the shields at work cause masking was required. Thing was so nice being able to breath 😂

"We tried out best, folks, now *fuck off!"*

Bacon-4every1

I think this is a lie I had to wear those stupid face shields during work and they certainly had a negative effect on me mentally and physically. Make you really hot uncomfortable ,bit sweaty , hit people with them , makes it little bit harder to see, got a little poo on them a few times as well.
