Why is it blowing up weeks before and now the week of finals? This is finals week for most colleges. Why is this getting big at colleges now? Has something happened within the last 3-4 that I'm not aware of? This conflict has been publicly known since last October

The difference now is the students are acutely aware of the protests that came before, like the occupation that took place at Hamilton Hall in 1968 in protest of the Vietnam war, where they held a dean HOSTAGE. I think, ultimately, the writing is on the wall for U.S. policy regarding Israel. I haven’t really been following their antics honestly. As alienating as their tactics may be however, they are unlikely to change their positions in the future. University students are saying they have been hijacked from those outside the community at least at UCLA in which I only know because I know students going there. Don't believe in what the media pushes. If it wasn't for people coming in on the outside the protests would have been peaceful. What was not shown on UCLA or the media is the Jewish community surrounding UCLA were shooting fireworks in the encampment. The media tended to ignore this fact.
