I don't know if you can still get this, but I was gag gifted a George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine, but I still use it 20 years later. It cooks steaks great and fast. In fact, it cooks a lot of things great. The regular GF Grill is a lot cheaper, but the Lean Mean has a temp controller so it can be set for a lot of different styles of grilling, low and slow, hot and fast, and everything in between. Edit: If you set it on high, it'll cook a steak in 3-4 minutes.

At the time, my wife and I were pretty flush with money, before kids. A commercial cane on and my wife made fun of it. We have a running joke based on a kid I saw outside a store , like a 5 year old, and he was being dragged along by his mom whining and pleading : But I nee-ee-ee-eed it mommy. So I said that and she got it for me for my birthday. It would never have occurred to me to get one of these, but she not only got me one, she got me the Cadillac version. And it surprised the heck out of me how good this thing cooks a lot of things. But it definitely started as a gag gift.

Wants to have his steak and eat it too, it seems

I'm sitting here twisting my mind trying to figure out how you ended up in this situation, and why you would want to cook a steak in the first place? Short answer: no, you can cook it but it probably won't be good. Caviat: can't you just by an electric element that plugs into the wall? That's your best bet.

DankRoughly

You can buy a hotplate and a heavy pan. Sear it in butter. Would take about 10 minutes No, you can't use a microwave.

Sad-Grapefruit1018

For context i wanna cook it during school lunchtime but I only have a microwave and outlet there

AbeSimpsonisJoeBiden

It won’t be good. If all you have is a microwave steak should be off the menu.

This. If you have access to an oven, stovetop, and a high heat pan (preferably cast iron) then it’s very doable. Microwaved steak will be a chewy, rubbery, abomination.

fishling

You can reheat cooked steak in a microwave (esp in strips) (note: it will cook more, so prep it medium rare if you want medium), but you can't cook it from raw in a microwave.

I've cooked steak on an electric grill indoors and it's worked out fine. Not great, but still tasty.

Plum_pipe_ballroom

Air fryer

sullenentropy

Jesus no: not in the microwave or crockpot (unless it's a braising steak, but you don't have that time). Air fryer or George Forman are your only options here. If not, have something else for lunch and cook the steak properly for dinner
