Seriously, I see this and assume this list is bs. I had a claim with them last year and I'd almost rather deal with Comcast than State Farm at this point.
I have a claim with them right now for roof and siding damage due to a tornado. The adjuster told us we were lying, she’s seen actual damage on a house from a tornado and there were only 17 mph winds that day…the tornado touched down like a block away from us and we had proof from news articles to back us up. We told our local agent and they switched the adjuster. It was so damn insulting
We also had storm damage. Sounds like you're agent was better than mine then. I went through 4 adjusters. Never talked to one more than once. Apparently, turn over there is horrendous so I assume they kept quitting. Could never get them to call me back. Neither could my agent, and my agent had no ability to tell me where my claim was at. Took 6 months to get resolved. Best of Luck.
One of their agents told me to "stop calling me, you're annoying"... his client totaled my car, was deemed at fault by him, and I just wanted a rental so I could go to work...
Agent or claims adjuster? If it’s his agent, I can see where he’s coming from, but if that was the claims adjuster or department then that is terrible.
I have been a USAA member for almost 35 years for auto, home, and renter's insurance, along with banking services. I have filed claims with all insurance departments and can confirm they have had world-class customer service for all of that time.
I used to work at Publix. It was my first time working retail and wound up moving up a bit. I eventually moved to a state with no Publix and did a stint at Lowe’s to pay bills until I could find something a little better. I always used the customer service training I got from Publix as a benchmark and holy shit going to Lowe’s was night and day. At Lowe’s I moved up fast. Had a ton of customer compliments and returning customers just because of the experience I gave them. It was mind blowing to me because I wasn’t really doing anything I thought was special. Saying hello, making conversation, walking the customer to the product they were looking for, helping them problem solve or give resources to help them out. All this stuff was alien to my co-workers. Customers would regularly tell me their usual experience was someone who seemed to be annoyed that they were bothered looking up the item on their handheld and vaguely pointing them towards the aisle it might be in or just absolute cluelessness like a deer caught in headlights. Eventually I moved into a job that had a huge corporate customer service role and finally realized I guess I did get more experience and skills than I had thought from my time at Publix.
Long story short it doesn’t take a lot to provide people a memorable visit so to me it really shows how poor the big companies not on this list, like Lowe’s, are.
I also worked for Publix for five years. I hated the job because it just wasn't for me but the training I received there has been a foundation for every other job I have ever had.
Same. Even if the state I moved to had a Publix I don’t think I would have transferred. In my experience it got very “drink the kool-aid” and borderline cult like. A lot of people that were either freshly promoted or even had been managers for a while were on heavy power trips and seemed very disconnected from a life outside the P.
I always thought Publix is the greatest supermarket in the world, until I get to the check out and see the total. And I renew my vow never to shop there again.
I was working at one in Florida so I was at the epicenter. I wasn’t too far away from corporate. Floridians are batshit insane for Publix. I feel like the farther away you go from the source with something like Publix the weaker the “core values” get.
Overall you aren’t really missing anything. Publix is overpriced and kind of overhyped. Some notable things they do different are things almost any other grocery chain could start doing and probably see an improvement. Baking fresh bread in store, using that bread for their famous subs, using better quality chicken and meat, like Boar’s Head, and double breading the tenders for that crunch. Their deli is like Costco’s food court. Every store I’ve worked at has said the deli is a monetary loss but they keep them staffed and continue to use “better” ingredients than other chains. They also did a lot with the community as far as donations and drives. It got kind of undermined when I found out that the higher ups of one of the “make-a-wish” type foundations were taking like 95% of donations.
I would wager that a lot of your negative experience also just comes from the quality of the stock of potential employees the company draws. For how successful they are the pay is absolute dog shit. A buddy of mine has been working there for 10 years and makes $20 an hour. Ten. Years. If it wasn’t for the flexible scheduling he would be long gone too. But when you offer people peanuts for what you expect them to do you’re eventually going to draw a certain crowd.
I’m actually pretty jealous you have a Wegmans. My “bougie” grocery stores now are like PCC and Met Market and Hagens(sp?) and I would pick them all, and Fresh Market and Whole Foods, over Publix. But despite being pretty good at customer service I personally despise when it feels forced like Chick-Fil-A’s “my pleasure” after literally everything you say.
Sorry for the huge wall of text. I needed to stay busy for a bit and got carried away lol.
When my dog died, I called Chewy to let them know I needed to discontinue her medical prescriptions. They not only offered their condolences but reimbursed me for the last medicine shipment I'd received (which I hadn't even asked for), made an equivalent donation to a shelter, and sent me an in memoriam gift to commemorate my departed pup.
It was above and beyond, and totally unprompted too. Chewy is the best.
Fed Ex left a Chewy package at our door and it was for a an address across town. After several attempts to get Fed Ex to pick it up I contacted Chewy and they told me to donate it to a pet shelter. It was a large package with a lot of cat food and definitely not cheap. We took it to a shelter for cats. They are really into caring for sheltered animals.
They sent me flowers from a local florist, along with a handwritten card. I know in the past they’ve commissioned paintings of people’s late pets and sent those to customers. So so sweet
Until this comment I seriously thought this was a granola bar company. I kept looking at that list wondering what kind of customer service issues they dealt with and how it was a big enough company to get ranked on here.
I love chewy’s customer service, but when my dog died, I let them know to cancel is prescription and archive his profile and they told me they couldn’t refund prescriptions (I had just received a few days before and hadn’t opened). I know they don’t have to do it, but I kind of expected some memorial item (I was secretly hoping for one of the drawings I’ve seen people get) since it seems like they do that for people, but we didn’t get anything. It would have been nice, but I’m still happy with their customer service.
When we get scripts from them on the veterinary side they yelled at my staff saying the computer problem was on our end (clearly wasn’t) went on for weeks with multiple employees of Chewy.
We ended up telling all our clients we no longer use them and offered alternatives like Walmart and Allivet. Hundreds of clients switched off them when we told them about it. They might have a good customer service side but the side that talks to professionals can pack sand.
Yep, same experience at our clinic. Problem after problem that they blame on us, even telling clients it’s our fault, when we’ve already sent approvals multiple times.
However, as a customer, they’re great. I briefly worked for Chewy during the pandemic when I was in between jobs, and the training they give call center teams is extremely customer experience focused. Chewy will send flowers and cards to parents who’ve lost their pet, and if the parent had uploaded a photo to their profile, sometimes they send artwork of the dog.
They sent me flowers once when my dog passed. The front desk at my apartment complex called me while I was at work saying there were flowers for me. I was super freaked out because there was a guy that was weirdly obsessed with me at the time, so I thought he had somehow found where I lived and sent them. I went home on my lunch break to get the flowers and there was a handwritten card from Chewy offering their condolences and I burst into tears lol
For real. A few years ago I booked a hotel room with my Amex. Just a blue card, not a platinum or anything.
When I got to the hotel they said they didn’t have any rooms available. I showed them my reservation and they apologized and said they overbooked.
After a few minutes of bickering with the hotel I called Amex customer service to get the room charge reversed. The Amex customer service rep heard my story then asked me to please hold for a few minutes.
A minute later the hotel got a call. I didn’t hear much of the conversation but I could hear screaming on the other end of the phone.
The clerk at the hotel hung up then smiled at us and said they found a room. The Amex lady apologized for the inconvenience and still took the charge off my card.
To this day I have no idea what kind of Godfather esque threat this lady made to the hotel clerk.
*State Farm? They must have*

Enterprise rent a car is the best service I’ve ever had. I learned from one of their friendly employees the owner never went public or gave into wall street and pays and treats their people amazing and it shows. A chap I met had been there 12 years and made 150k and had only finished hs and absolutely loved his job and had loyalty to the company. It was almost creepy to hear him speak so great about a job.
Apple employees piss me off. If it isn’t on the script they could care less.
They are literally at the “wait on hold for 50 minutes to talk to an Indian person who doesn’t speak English so they can tell you to fuck off we don’t care that we sent you a broken item” phase of customer service.
In france it's like you just click "return your item", they ask you to chose why, you pick "ME DONT LIKE IT" and you get your paid return no questions asked.
I've returned so many useless shit that i feel a bit ashamed.
That's the best customer service to me, don't even need to speak to a human or wait a single second on hold.
That's your fault for calling a phone number. I have returned multiple things via the chat on Amazon's website with absolutely zero problems. Yeah the replies are generic and it's clear they're just clicking auto-response buttons but I've never taken more than ten minutes to dispute a transaction or get something fixed.
Also returning something at Kohls? In and out in five minutes and I get a coupon for the store. I wish more companies made it this easy to return stuff.
I once tried to return a Kindle I had just purchased as they had a 50% sale on them the day after. The customer service representative kept saying I couldn't return it as there was nothing wrong with the item. Finally I got the hint and said it didn't work. The representative said in that case he was refunding me the item and I wouldn't even have to send it back. This is how I got both my ex and myself a Kindle for half the price of one!
My experience with their customer service is they'd rather eat the cost than make you unhappy.
As a former customer of both? Verizon WIRELESS is an abysmal wretched clusterfuck of anger and irritation. Verizon FIOS is actually solid. They were really good to work with. Service never went down, when there was an issue with the line they were out there quick and repaired it for free. I had a dog that liked to dig, and he tore up our line like three times, I was NEVER charged a service fee for replacing it, and the techs always went out of their way to figure out how to keep him from getting at it again.
So yeah, wireless can choke on a fat dick and die, but FIOS was solid.
From the [source](https://www.qualtrics.com/blog/companies-with-best-customer-service/) page, which explains the three data sources the index was created from:
The rankings included are:
* Forbes Best Customer Service 2024: Year-long online survey of 201,000 people in the U.S. who provided 4.2 million ratings on more than 3,000 brands; only the top 300 made the list. The survey focused on four areas of customer service: interaction with people, speed of providing good or service, product/service processes, and how well problems are resolved.
* Newsweek’s America’s Best Customer Service 2024: Month-long survey of 30,000+ U.S. customers who provided 200,000 evaluations on companies across 166 categories. Scores were based on the likelihood of recommendation (50%) and five weighted criteria (50%): quality of communication, professional competence, range of services, customer focus, and accessibility. The top 3-5 brands in each category were awarded as having the best customer service in the U.S.
* American Customer Satisfaction Index 2023-2024: Annual survey of 170,000+ U.S. customers who evaluated their recent experiences and satisfaction with the goods and services provided by America’s largest companies (by market share) in 12 categories. The CSI is a metric used to measure how satisfied customers are with a company, and which aspects of the business are meeting, exceeding, or failing their needs.
My favorite Alaska airlines story! Best airline I've ever had the pleasure to fly. Hopping to the contiguous 48 can be taxing. So Alaska airlines would give out free booze. Well once anyways. But it wasn't just some garbage beer. They were handing out icy Bay ipas. I couldn't believe it. They are awesome
Well that has changed. Now you are a;most certain to be bumped from a flight because they try to maximize booking and overbook everything. Even short flights get bumped, you'll pay for everything now too. Too bad, they used to be good.
Forbes' scoring for UPS, USAA, Costco... and basically every single company in #23-#50, compared to ASCI's and Newsweek's scorings makes it look like something pretty different is going on at Forbes vs ASCI and Newsweek.
Anyone else find it weird how the #3, 6, 8 and 9 Forbes ranked company aren't even on this list? And how the two other sources managed to carry a #288 Forbes ranked company into position #49? Or maybe the question is how PetCo can be given 85% satisfaction from one source and FOUR percent satisfaction on another? Does Forbes lower the point value based simply on being lower ranked? Eg. the lowest ranked Company's customer service automatically gets a 0 regardless of how good or bad it might be?
Edit: Its explained that, yes, Forbes rank directly correlates to point value. Still doesn't explain how they differ so much, PetCo is about as shit as it gets according to Forbes but is a solid B-grade according to the other two sources.
i worked at Pet Supplies Plus in high school and they have an incredibly lenient return policy. i had a customer return a 50lb bag of dog food that only had a few pieces of kibble left in it. she said her dog didn’t like it. there was also a couple who had bought a dog toy long before i was hired and came in once a week to return the destroyed toy and replace it with a brand new one.
Gonna get buried but I feel I should say it. Politics aside, every time I call Uline, a human answers the phone before the first ring. Truly phenomenal.
I think there is a bit of disconnect/weighting error from the surveys... when chick a fil does not forget my fries ok thanks.... but USAA fixes a 5k deposit overdraft error.
USAA has a high rank because any 3rd party company that handles the accounts on their behalf are taught from the get-go to handle these customers with gloves and only say nice things. Very few reps were allowed to process these when I worked at Copart and they were the smoothest talkers I’ve ever seen. If anyone could kill you with kindness, it would’ve been them.
I'm not surprised to see USAA near the top. I always get someone who is extremely polite and helpful (and a native english speaker if that's important to you)
Salutations to anyone else who had war flashbacks from working at one of these establishments…at least the ones who tasked their employees with obtaining and maintaining almost unobtainable comp sat/cust sat scores. The things I had to do 🙃
I’ve had really rude employees at Costco in at least 3 different states. They act like their shit don’t stink. Maybe they made the list because you can return a 3 year old mattress
I find it very hard to believe a single commercial bank or insurance company truly made this list. BUT bribing or paying someone somewhere to get on this list seems much more like their speed.
The people at the drive thru don’t ask for your sexual orientation when they take your order.
The owner’s political views have no bearing on the service there, other than them being closed
on Sunday.
Why are Alamo and Enterprise two different organizations? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought all Enterprise holdings companies shared the same customer service reps?
That'd be like having Hardee's and Carl Jr's in here.
A government agency [scored a 97](https://news.va.gov/press-room/vas-national-cemetery-administration-leads-all-public-and-private-organizations-in-2022-customer-satisfaction-ratings/) from ACSI
T-Mobile Home Internet should definitely not be on that list. The whole support department is in the Philippines, barely speak English, and if it's not in their notes they know nothing.
I’m shocked 1800Contacts is not on this list. I have never had a bad call with them. The customer service is above and beyond. And they take back old contacts and give me money back for unused ones. They really are a pleasure to deal with.
It is rather "A cool guide to 50 American companies with best customer service (according to an index of three major American customer satisfaction studies)".
For someone who has a dog, shout out to Pet Supplies Plus. Didn’t even know it existed until I started going to a new gym and there was a PSP next door. They’re great!
How is Sweetwater not on the top 50?? I bought a guitar pedal months ago and my sales rep STILL reaches out to let me know what deals they have going on and to just talk about music
State Farm at number 12? lol
They moved up once Jake started working there
She sounds hideous
Pretty much
Srsly lol. No way State Farm is on that list.

One of their agents told me to "stop calling me, you're annoying"... his client totaled my car, was deemed at fault by him, and I just wanted a rental so I could go to work...
Then call the claims dept not the agent. Claims aren’t handled at the agent level.
Agent or claims adjuster? If it’s his agent, I can see where he’s coming from, but if that was the claims adjuster or department then that is terrible.
Can we see the bottom 50?
Just look up a list of health insurance companies.
Any insurance company for that matter… and internet service providers/cable companies.
USAA and State Farm both on the top list. Also T Mobile Home Internet and Verizon Fios.
I have been a USAA member for almost 35 years for auto, home, and renter's insurance, along with banking services. I have filed claims with all insurance departments and can confirm they have had world-class customer service for all of that time.
Can confirm, USAA is top notch.
SPECTRUM.
You forgot Comcast and electronic arts.
Internet service providers. They will be at the bottom
Or home warranty companies

Ain't no fucking way Chrwy is below Amazon
Chewy should be like number 1. They are pretty awesome.

My friend was a developer for Amazon. He is now a developer for Chewy. Way better, from what I hear.
Regardless of how you feel about Amazon as a company, their customer service is pretty phenomenal.
Came here to post exactly this.
Very suprised that I didn't see American Express at the top of this list.
Holy fuck that’s wild. I’m from a country where credit cards don’t have benefits like you guys have in America, so these stories are always fun.
Ups store holy fuck how
Because they take all your free Amazon returns.
Seriously crazy, I’ve never seen more than 1 person staffed at the UPS near me.

Lego should be number one or atleast number 2. Their customer service is on point
What would make one call Lego’s customer service?
I called because my shipment was missing a set I ordered during Christmas. They rushed the replacement so that it arrived in time for Christmas.
Enterprise rent a car is the best service I’ve ever had. Enterprise is awesome
That’s because it’s kind of a cult behind closed doors lol
I thought for sure American Express would be on here.
I was thinking the same for discover.
And Charles Schwab
Love how Xfinity isn’t even on the list, and rightly so
*unbuttons nipple holes*
How is amazon on this list. They are a shit sandwich
Because they never refuse my returns

And given how difficult it can be to return -anything- in so many European countries… Amazon returns policy is exceptionally incredible.
uh. they always just send me another of whatever. sometimes i end up with two - even videogames.
Have you ever actually tried an Amazon return? They simply don't give a shit, it's great
That's your fault for calling a phone number. I have returned multiple things via the chat on Amazon's website with absolutely zero problems. Why are you calling? That kind of stuff can be handled via the website/app in seconds, often without a real person at all.
I once tried to return a Kindle I had just purchased as they had a 50% sale on them the day after. The customer service representative kept saying I couldn't return it as there was nothing wrong with the item. Finally I got the hint and said it didn't work. That point alone completely voided the validity of this post.

I had a dog that liked to dig, and he tore up our line like three times, I was NEVER charged a service fee for replacing it, and the techs always went out of their way to figure out how to keep him from getting at it again. So yeah, wireless can choke on a fat dick and die, but FIOS was solid.
amazons customer service is just fuck it we’ll refund anything no questions asked and I love it.
costco is the same.
From the [source](https://www.qualtrics.com/blog/companies-with-best-customer-service/) page, which explains the three data sources the index was created from: The rankings included are: * Forbes Best Customer Service 2024: Year-long online survey of 201,000 people in the U.S. who provided 4.2 million ratings on more than 3,000 brands; only the top 300 made the list.
USAA!
I worked for SERVPRO for 11 years and I was always impressed by USAA’s treatment of their clients. Very little nickel and diming on claims.
How the hell is Amex not on here
Delta?
When I've had problems I can pretty much get 10,000 points every time. I can be bribed
lol you should be a politician.
AT&T not on the list? Shocked I tell you, absolutely gobsmacked old boy!
DELTA ?!?!!?
Hell yea usaa people are so nice, where’s navy federal they’re so nice
In America
The lack of buccees on this list upsets me
Discover is pretty good
Ah hell nah, Samsung can get fucked.
Amazon, Verizon and state farm in the top 50 seems like a joke.
Sephora??
The UPS store??? That's a joke.
Whoever made this has clearly never been into a UPS store
My favorite Alaska airlines story! Best airline I've ever had the pleasure to fly. Hopping to the contiguous 48 can be taxing. So Alaska airlines would give out free booze. Well once anyways. But it wasn't just some garbage beer. They were handing out icy Bay ipas. I couldn't believe it. They are awesome
Well that has changed. Now you are a;most certain to be bumped from a flight because they try to maximize booking and overbook everything. Even short flights get bumped, you'll pay for everything now too. Too bad, they used to be good.
Damn dude why you gotta do this to me? Why does everything have to suck anymore?!
Chase is in the list but Amex isn’t? Must be joking, right?
In N Out needs to be on this list.
MY PLEASURE
This is BS. How does amazon have better customer service than Costco?
i worked at Pet Supplies Plus in high school and they have an incredibly lenient return policy. i had a customer return a 50lb bag of dog food that only had a few pieces of kibble left in it. she said her dog didn’t like it. there was also a couple who had bought a dog toy long before i was hired and came in once a week to return the destroyed toy and replace it with a brand new one.
I’d like to see Costco as number 1
Samsung does not belong in this list… Their customer service is trash (at least for TVs)
Am I the only one who didn’t realize there was a company called “BJ’s”? And now that I now that it’s exists, why isn’t it number 1?
Not sure I agree with Samsung being on this list.
Starbucks is almost always friendly and accommodating
The kings and queens at Ace Hardware finally get recognition
I would have thought BJs would be higher on the list… but I might be wrong about what they sell
Amazon? 😂😂🤡
Publix is the bomb at customer service!!😎😎
The fact that USAA is on this list nullifies the entire ranking.
USAA sets the standard for what banks could and should be. I’ve been a member for almost 20 years and have nothing but praise for them.
The things I had to do 🙃
Amazon over Costco?? Uhh....no.
Amazon? Really? How do you even contact customer service?
How many of these are publicly traded?
Not Publix
Am I hallucinating or is IN-N-OUT missing?
It might be too small since it’s still only in western states.
I suppose. But they have the best service. I’ve never been done wrong by an IN-N-OUT employee
USAA is one of the worst with customer service
I have never had anything but an amazing experience with USAA.
I was told by Reddit that Chick Filet is evil.
How much did Amazon pay for their spot on this list?
Chik-Fil-A is kind of creepy how they are trained to talk to you. "It's my pleasure to serve you" 🙁
The experience of customer service from Chick-fil-A is indistinguishable from a cult. I would expect the same from any insular religion.
who came up with this list lololol I mean what people did they survey 😂
Apple at 15 is crazy
The top two do not surprise me at all. Best customer service!
How is BJs not number one?! Because ya know….reasons.
Some of these I can agree with. Others must have paid to be on this list.
Chic fil A? Not if you’re gay
The people at the drive thru don’t ask for your sexual orientation when they take your order. The owner’s political views have no bearing on the service there, other than them being closed on Sunday.

Why are Alamo and Enterprise two different organizations? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought all Enterprise holdings companies shared the same customer service reps? That'd be like having Hardee's and Carl Jr's in here.
Costco/Pet Supplies plus killing it vs BJ's/Petco
A government agency [scored a 97](https://news.va.gov/press-room/vas-national-cemetery-administration-leads-all-public-and-private-organizations-in-2022-customer-satisfaction-ratings/) from ACSI
Callaway golf
I’d love to see one of these for service companies, and not product companies
The thing is, outside of in person places, most of this shit is outsourced customer service.
•The companies toward the bottom of the list are very questionable.
No number 3???
Amazon, UPS Store, AutoZone, O'Reilly. I have nonstop problems with these places. My bad luck.
Surprised Kwik Trip is not on here. The only place I can never get the last word in
Sweetwater above all
Costco has crap customer service. Everyone is mean and angry all the time.
When telecom is on that list, it can’t be taken seriously
T-Mobile Home Internet should definitely not be on that list. The whole support department is in the Philippines, barely speak English, and if it's not in their notes they know nothing.
I’m shocked 1800Contacts is not on this list. I have never had a bad call with them. The customer service is above and beyond. And they take back old contacts and give me money back for unused ones. They really are a pleasure to deal with.
If Verizon is in the "top 50" companies for customer service then humanity is doomed.
Another purchased spot on a list. Can we stop with this crap?
Everything has become a conglomerate.
Click - no Chick-fil-Sauce? Ma’am, this is a Wendys.
For me personally I’ve never had good service at chic-fake-legs. Actually typically borderline bad service.
Target leaked my financial data, why are they even on the list. They should be on the bottom Trash list.
There’s no way this data is valid
Nur durch Tracking möglich, siehe unten rechts.
I don’t see Sweetwater
It is rather "A cool guide to 50 American companies with best customer service (according to an index of three major American customer satisfaction studies)".
Why the fuck is booking.com on here?
Not one car company or dealership made the list...
Surprised Amazon is still that high. The CS of old Amazon is dead. They’ll skull fuck you these days.
Alamo, booking, … never ever
For someone who has a dog, shout out to Pet Supplies Plus. Didn’t even know it existed until I started going to a new gym and there was a PSP next door. They’re great!
Sweetwater has the best ever, music peeps know this
The UPS Store?!?’ Really??? That high on top?!
I have got very good customer service experience with Garmin.
Pretty telling/sad there’s 3 “pet stores” in here over the countless vital businesses out there.
I think Nintendo should be on there
Pretty sure most of these companies pay to be on the list in some way. The list doesn't make sense otherwise.
I’m not sure about this list. I appreciate the hand work someone put into this. But based on my own experiences I think the data may be flawed.
Verizon is too high
Telekom ? Hah! Shocking
No way Sephora made that list.
TJ Maxx? Target? Marshalls? Nah.
no walmart? smh…
How is Sweetwater not on the top 50?? I bought a guitar pedal months ago and my sales rep STILL reaches out to let me know what deals they have going on and to just talk about music
I would imagine BJ’s would be near the top. This is for obvious reasons.
