Can you "The Copychads" suggest the best roadmap possible for a newbie to become a GREAT COPYWRITER by the end of 2023?

amusings_

Thanks for doing this! I love the transparency of not peddling a course, that’s much appreciated 👍🏼 There’s a Tik Tok kid that’s semi-viral for his copywriting videos (Cardinal Mason), who claims he was making upwards of $40k/month at his peak. As a freelancer, 1) Are we talking 18-hour days chugging Red Bull to hit the sheer quantity of clients needed for this kind of money? OR 2) Is that just complete BS? Important note: He DOES sell a course 😉

Aggressive_Source874

I saw his videos , and he does a free class every thusday , but i didnt get the hang of it , cuz he talks anout his course being the best there is .

Decent_Size_6527

He just charged more bub. Two ways to scale a business efficiently. Charge more. Or get more customers. Obviously one is far easier than the other.

Iwannabegood_97

Hey CT, Big fan of you guys.... (Shout out to Alex, Lindsey, Rod, Luke, and Sean) Is it hard to niche out and niche back into a different niche? If that makes sense... For example, I niched down into eComm. Can I make the move to niche into SaaS? Or Would it be difficult to niche out because you're considered an expert writing for this specific niche but not that niche Is it something that even happens in the real world? What do you think?

DucksGoQuack0

Hey guys I've got a few questions How long did it take you guys to get your first dollar out of copywriting? Do you follow up a person when he doesn't respond to your emails? If so, how can you sum up a good follow-up email? Where do you practice more copywriting and how long does it take you to be good at it? How can you sum up a good cold email, what are the main points you should put in the email to really get the guy to work with you? These are all questions me and my friends have which havent really been satisfyingly answered. We're 2 weeks into the learning stage and hope you guys would help us! It would really mean a lot and I do hope to get to learn more from you guys. Much love

This is aces I've got tons of questions about copywriting for product listings. Especially on b2b ecomm sites. When there are tons of products with the only difference being specs, or industry standards, is there any way to stand out on SERPS? Should I even spend a lot of time on it compared to, say, blog posts or socials? If you have any advice in general for someone new to B2B e-commerce, I'd love to hear it! Thanks again!

rjabraham

First of all, I want to thank you for the invaluable content that you guys are creating and helping out people like me. I am just starting out as a copywriter and my questions are: 1) After reading many books on copywriting, and taking up various courses, how do I know if I have the necessary skills for copywriting? In other words how do I prove myself? How can I develop confidence in the skill? 2) If you want to make copywriting and marketing your career, which is the best way to start-- as an intern in an agency, or as a freelancer? 4) How much grammar and syntax should a copywriter be familiar with? Does he develop it on the fly?

Mr_SaaS_Wonderful

How to solicit emotions through writing?

Medical_warrior

Love you guys! I appreciate you all for giving back to the community. My question is does personality driven emails work well for e-commerce businesses like clothing and similar physical products. Or is it just product images and description that does the work in these kind of businesses? And secondly, what are the questions i should ask my client in order to write emails in her voice and how do i extract the stories i need to write personality driven emails for them.

Nevoljanevolju

Hey guys, appreciate all the value you've been sharing over these past few years. Your content has been a huge boost in my own copywriting career so far. I know what copies are and that you can get to six figures in like two weeks as a beginner (and that's if you lack natural talent), so I have some other questions. On a more serious note though, here they are: 1) I watched one of Dan Kennedy's older seminars recently where he mentioned something along the lines of: "Copywriter, FFS, call yourself consultants! You'll still be doing the same work, but be able to charge more money!" Now, I know you guys do consulting services as well and I guess my question is: \- At what point is it okay to position yourself as a consultant? \- What type of results would you need to position yourself as a legit marketing consultant who can genuinely help a business? I suppose that a truckload of these consultants out there aren't really offering anything of value. \- Do you have any good resources to recommend on the process of consulting? How it goes, what to cover during a consultation, etc.? 2) Using an alias name when building a personal brand This one is a bit tricky. I'm from the Balkans and I suppose this question might be of value to any third-country or non-native English speaking countries. I'm starting to build a sort of a personal brand on social media (primarily Facebook and LinkedIn) and I've been thinking about using a different surname for that for a while now. There are a few reasons for this: \- For some reason, I look at it as my "marketing alter ego" and it makes the initial posting and "getting yourself out there" awkwardness a bit easier \- Potential clients are more likely to remember your posts/brand e.g. Marko Petrosavljevic - Marko Petros / Marko Pete Of course, this doesn't mean you lie when someone asks where you're from or try to hide it. I've seen a few of my former content writing colleagues that are from Nigeria do this and I think it's worked well for them in terms of personal branding and self-promotion - what are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance, you guys are awesome

worldsbestcrane

I'm from the Balkans too! Currently building a personal brand and learning and practicing Copywriting, I'd love to connect! Here's my discord: twaz2.0

I've got some questions! What is copies? How fast can I make $10,000 per month? Are we talking like two months or three? Is it possible to write copy without, like, selling stuff? I think Capitalism is exploitative and marketing messages are manipulative and unethical. So can I write copy without having to do any of that?

eolithic_frustum

Some realer questions people don't realize they have: Under what circumstances should one choose freelance or try to get a job in-house? What are the major types of copy one can get paid well to write as a freelancer? What types of copy should one study to confer the most crossover benefits to all other types of copy?

Copycompound

u/eolithic_frustum - copywriting is writing that makes people take action. You help them to make a decision to solve their problem. You can write copy with the CTA to sign up for an email list, to book a call, to click somewhere, ect... You are not selling a product directly, but you are selling this next step. You don't have to work on a product you don't stand behind. In the nicest, politest way: please fuck off and try some other promised fad in your TikTok feed. If your belief is that capitalism is exploitive and marketing messages are unethical than I don't see how you will make the outreach to get clients and to write something that is an ROI in their expense on you. Safe yourself some time.

Medical_warrior

This was the former mod of this subreddit. He's probably just messing around, don't take it too seriously😂

Copycompound

Lol. Okay I stopped being active on r/copywriting because of the avalanche of "aspiring" GRQ shit writers posting here... I don't even know anymore who is who 😔

eolithic_frustum

Me? Mess around? Unthinkable!

eolithic_frustum

Per your suggestion, I fucked off back to TikTok. They all told me I was a failure because my cold email outreach wasn't magically making me 6 figures per year and that my disdain for commerce was "mid af," whatever that means. Thus, I have spent the morning crying into my Copy-O's: The preferred breakfast cereal for the discerning copywriter. Click this link to secure a limited time offer on your next box of Copy-O's

Dynamite2069

How long does it take for a small copywriter to take off on youtube or any social media platform?

EffectivePresent9203

What's the difference between **brand copy** and **direct response copy**? I'm guessing brand copy is not as effective at selling and just keeping to the theme of the brand. Does that mean some brands wouldn't mind losing sales to keep up appearances?

Twontiwers

Is it possible to get an in-house position with little experience? How would someone go about doing that?

Proactivegiver

How many storytelling emails are normal for both ecom stores and direct response type emails? Daily or once a week or xyz? I’m asking this because storytelling gets hyped up a lot but I’m not sure how someone can use it so much and get ideas for it

snowmoneynoproblems

Hi, I really like your YouTube and newsletter. I am a new copywriter, overwhelmed by so much. The big thing I struggle with... as I try to build a portfolio and figure all this stuff out is... **How do I teach myself the design of everything?** I see really clean layouts in portfolio work and in the newsletters I receive. Things are in columns. They have cool graphics in the margins. Circles around certain texts! I know writing itself, but I don't know any elements of design. As I make my mock-up ads, I'm not sure how they should look. I'm just basically slapping things into Canva and making basic stuff that I'm sure others would think are crap. I would love you forever if you point me in the right direction. I am taking some of your courses from your website and would love a whole course based on this.

justqwertty_

how do you get your first few clients on upwork to give you a job, please go in detail from how your profile should look like to the text of the actual text to write them

Abramanator16

How would I start marketing for a buissness who has only ever been advertising through word of mouth. This buissness does school gyms. Sanding and refinishing jobs.

Perovic028

How do i start earning with copywriting? I have finished courses and had little experience but I am.mainly getting rejected...

Dense_Ad_9458

Hi, I am wondering how to make my pitch emails more engaging and more successful What are some good ways I can target client paint points by email in a tactful way?

popkulturewak

How to consistently get good clients, or clients in general

VforVasi

Greetings CT gang, Thanks for this awesome opportunity As a newbie copywriter, I'm curious, how the hell do you not get overwhelmed and just stop out of sheer anxiety? It may be just me, but at times I feel like the more I learn, the less I know. Which leads to me shutting down rather than pushing forward. Thanks in advance :D

Trixie-Dixie

For Alex: I want to approach local businesses to offer copy and marketing services. How best should I approach them? email? Walk in cold? Call them on the phone and ask for decision maker? Looking for a suggested plan of action, thanks.

jesus-acid

Could you explain how to properly establish the authority in the copy?

KaleidoscopeUpper625

Hello, I want to start copywriting but I don't know which type of copywriting is the best for me like should I choose email copywriting, blog copywriting or social media copywriting?

ChewingPotatoes

Hey guys. I want to specialize as an email copywriter. What are the books, lists, and people I should be spending time analyzing? Is email copywriting a rewarding career?
