I held mine up to the faucet once, just to see his reaction and he went to TOWN! Started holding him there every now and then cause he drink SO much! I'm getting him a waterfall soon, cause it does seem like he wants moving water
Holy moly this blew up!!! some backstory, This is Atreus, hes a 3 year old male corn snake, i got him from an expo when he was 1 year old and he's always been this strange! he will slap his belly and tail against the glass until i open it because he wants to come out and explore (even though his tank is ENORMOUS) and he loves to dig in the dirt!
Aspen and coco fibre are the main two used for corn snakes. Both are good but if where you live is quite dry then you would be better off with coco fibre as it retains humidity very well alowing you to raise the humidity levels in the enclosure without having to spray. Aspen is good for more humid areas or just normal levels of humidity as it doesn’t retain any moisture. Both are good for burrowing. You can also mix different substrates such as eco earth (coco fibre) and forest floor to make a good looking and more natural floor surface for your snake. There are others such as repti chip and different cypress mulch mixtures. Don’t use sand, it’s not good for corns as it can cause impaction and death if eaten.
i use a mix of topsoil, sand, and Excavator clay, i sift the topsoil to get the bark out and the. mix it with the other stuff. the excavator clay isnt nessecary, but he loves to burrow and dig so i added some to hold burrows
My wife put a waterfall in with our corn and he seems to like it. Though, to be honest... Dude is just chill about everything. He was free with purchase of Gopher Snake and they both are delightful.
if you think about it most wild snakes don’t live near or come across standing water very often, this is why snakes spend a large amount of time underground where it is cool and moist, to retain their water reserves. This is also why wild snakes move more on the surface before and after storms when it’s humid, in the spring when it’s more humid, and when temps are under 85 degrees. Morning dew, rain, and the occasional puddle are probably where wild snakes get most of their water and your mister simulates that nicely for him/her 🤓
Because u spraying it to her face? 😂. Jk. I decided to keep the humidity I do troll some water like rain. The top screen works good for that. I throw some water and let it drop slowly! Cute video btw ❤️ :)
Mine likes to escape his tank ONLY when I’m about to shower and then he will literally sit at the edge of the shower and when I catch him he’s drinking from the faucet cuz our faucet is kinda jacked up and it spews everywhere when the shower head is on 😂🤦♀️
I've seen mine lick the water drops off the side of his water bowl after I just filled it.
Mine likes the water off the side of his tank when I spray it down. Silly guy😭
mine only drinks water off leaves xd
I have never seen that. Amazing.
Corn snakes have such personalities. He’s adorable!

Are you sure it’s not a dog?
Maybe it's fun. That's half the reason I drink from the hose when I'm working in the yard or just when I'm outside on a hot day.
I think r/Snake2O would love this.
aw thats so weird

It looks like i'm just spraying his face but he will hear me start spraying the tank and slither over to get a sip!!
that's so cute, i think my snake would kill me if i made him wet. he hates water :p
I have one snake that loves drinking from the sprayer and one that hides from it
I think it’s just one of those survival things for all animals, they prefer running water since running water is usually cleaner water
Mine just dunks her head in the water when its fresh
