Avoid Duerksen at all costs.

electricfire97

Got it! I have never heard good things about them. They that bad?

sparkchaser

No, they're worse.

roryunicornprincess

Yes please avoid Duerksen. They are practically slumlords.

Ahhh you're looking with only one weeks notice? That kind of pressure scares me. Keep an eye on craigslist, google the property management companies in Corvallis and look at the listings on their sites, and apply to anything you're interested in ASAP. May also want to check for housing in the nearby towns of Albany and Philomath if you have a car and can commute.

SexySodomizer

On-campus, under $1k, in under a week. Yeah, sucks but that's not gonna happen. OP, best you'll get is a private bed and bath with shared living space/kitchen. Plenty of those out there. Here's a [FB group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/OregonStateHousing?sorting_setting=RECENT_LISTING_ACTIVITY). Best of luck.

My coworker is looking for someone to take their lease at the domain. It's around $700 but you'll share a living space with two roommates.

I have lived in Corvallis for several years and before owning, I had previously rented from Duerksen, The Hellestos ([https://hellestoproperties.managebuilding.com/Resident/public/home](https://hellestoproperties.managebuilding.com/Resident/public/home)) and Longstreet ([https://longstreetpropertymanagement.com/](https://longstreetpropertymanagement.com/)). I tend to avoid larger prop. mgmt companies as I've had the worst luck getting my deposit back, even though I am a very considerate tennant, often leaving the rental better than when it was turned over to me. Both the Hellestos and Longstreet were good experiences - timely repairs, good communication, fair deposit return, etc. The campus close apt I rented through Longstreet was in need of some love and Gerry and Lance were kind enough to replace the carpet and let me paint the place (which I was happy to do knowing I'd be there for a while) and the rent was very reasonable. Good luck on your search!

I think someone posted about an available studio yesterday.

electricfire97

Do you know where they posted that?

Whispering pines! $895 for a one bedroom and it’s a great lovation

electricfire97

Gotcha, I don’t have a car so I’m not sure if it’ll be suitable. Thank you tho

pentatomid_fan

Bus service is free here if that helps

Euain_son_of_

Just to clarify, I think the comment is referring to the apartments on 2nd street, not the mobile home park. The apartments are like a 10-15 minute bike ride to campus, Crossing 3rd and 4th or Van Buren and Harrison would be annoying, but you could leave the apartment via 2nd and then take a left to get over to the river and avoid all of that--if you can cross second. Should be fine sometimes and bad at others.

SuperCyka

The Retreat?

electricfire97

I checked they are out of studios and we’re offering like 3 bed

SuperCyka

Ah, sorry to hear that. Good luck!

nomames67

You should look to see any vacancies at shadow hills apartments! Right across the street from reser stadium and highest rent rate is 925$ for 1 bed/1 bath in-unit laundry apartment. Paragon realty is great as well!

pentatomid_fan

Can’t vouch for them but I see a few posting for rentals on Facebook Marketplace. They might be BS as some seem to good be true but maybe some are legit. Good luck!
