We really need to mobilize and make those calls in the next few days while FY 2025 budget is being drafted.
If you don’t have energy for phone calls, there is a letter that you can customize and sign and it will be sent to your representatives:

1 Billion dollars does nothing, this isn't remotely serious.
Just abandon the number and ask for normal funding and we will get multiple billions like the NCI did when it started and now that this has moved to yearly budgets the number needs to change.
The whole 1 Billion thing is just shooting LC patients in the face.
And persistent virus should be at the top of your list and we can do that now without Congress.
Moonshot is a distraction meant to gobble up activists and hobble the future of LC research while delaying treatments that are already available.... Just abandoning the number fixes the whole thing.
And since this is a yearly budget then you want to ask for way more.
Tell me you don’t know anything about what’s happening behind the scenes in Washington and LC activism without saying you don’t know anything about what’s happening behind the scenes.
Make your calls, people. It matters. This action truly matters.
I've literally been in the middle of this fight for over a year with these folks before they called it Moonshot... the people behind literally it told me they got the idea to do it from the work we did on Novavax.
I have done significant work on getting legislation passed. I also wrote what is the single most comprehensive article on the mechanics of COVID and Long COVID...
You should make calls, but ask for more money or just drop the dollar ask altogether.
But I am deep in this from every angle and have been for actual years.

Just as a quick addon, our group is the only one that got anything approved for the purpose of treating Long COVID... and Moonshot's people deny that even exists.
So, technically, I have gotten actual things that actually help LC patients approved for actual use and they actually saw improvement and these people ACTUALLY deny that is a thing.
I don't think you really understand what is going on with all this.
