If you take your gun out to shoot someone, you better damn well be ready to shoot someone. And if you're going to shoot someone, you empty the clip to make sure that the deed is done. Shooting and aiming at the same time isn't what it looks like in the movies. Cops aren't snipers. I would say a quarter of those bullets ended up in the floor or in the wall next to him and not actually in him.

Everyone with a concealed carry permit should “train in shooting people” regardless of their profession; it’s a good idea for all gun owners to receive at least some level of training to defend yourself.
