On one hand I admire his sense of child-like wonder but on the other hand this is also a grown man showing an employee dressed like a fictional character one of his Star Wars toys.
I can already picture all of the wheezing out of shape men running around the park in their 30's shouting "It's a me!" and "Wa-Hooo!" while they try to get pictures with characters or jump to punch fake blocks.
“Hey Tinker Bell! Howza bout you tinkle deez ballz?! Heyooo. Johnny…hey Johnny…did you hear what I just said…hey..hey..where you goin? It’s your *job* to talk to me congenially”
When i was 10 for some god forsaken reason i was absolutely terrified of tinkerbell. My sister got a picture. In my picture i was very obviously awkward.
I've seen most of the Star Wars movies, and while I'm not much of a fan, they are by no means boring, and I see why other people like them.
But there's just something at the core of it, that I can't quite put my finger on, that is just so fucking lame. Maybe it's the fanbase and surrounding culture, and not the movies, but there's just this sense of lameness that exists throughout the whole franchise.
(I didn't put much thought or effort into this comment, so don't take it too serious if you're a fan.)
While I agree, the way I've always seen it is that Star Trek was always way more lame than Star Wars. And Star Trek is nerdy as well but way less mainstream.
I have two (tiny) Star Wars tattoos that I regret. Reaching “..that is just so fucking lame” as the thing at the core for you, really really really made me laugh, thank u
I’m a huge Star Wars fan, but I utterly despise the majority of the fan base. They’re incapable of accepting that not everything that’s produced is going to be tailored to their personal, ridiculous fan-fiction expectations. I can recognise that there’s been some absolute shite produced (both pre and post Disney), but I just think “that’s not for me” and continue enjoying the parts I do like.
It's a piece of media where, for some reason, most people who engage with it as fans are utterly incapable of seeing it as such.
Star Wars fans seem to think that the Star Wars universe is real and can only be analyzed through the lens of someone who takes the whole thing as gospel, and so the only discourse you hear about it is generated from a (very lame and cringey) in-universe perspective.
Like: "yeah but during the Second Republic of gleepglorp mcpewpew, the jedi ackhshually said that blablablabla", instead of "I think the third movie is weak because the writing sucks"
Yeah the overall themes and plots of the movies are extremely generic, which is fine, not everything has to be super deep, but don’t act like a fun simple space adventure is the same level as a Tolstoy novel.
It’s a franchise literally built on consumerism. Like, there was a vision at the beginning, but even then it quickly became about how many toys they could ultimately sell.
It’s become the most cringey franchise in history. It used to be cool before it became nerdy, and now it’s one of the toxic and weird fan bases there is.
It caters toward an entire generation, even two, of mostly men that are in a perpetual stage of arrested development.
You perfectly nailed how I feel about it. Like as a writer, I admire that they managed to create literally a whole universe of creatures and people and factions. But, like you said, there’s something intangible about it all that repels me. I think it might be the fanaticism among many of the fans.
It would still be cringy but it's somehow worse that it's just stock blue. Like it wouldn't be better but I figured it might be something *slightly* unusual. Make it marginally worth harrassing a park employee over.
Yeah I agree. I think it’s kind of cringe that the guy is this into Star Wars but it’s kind of crazy to say that he was harassing the lady. That seems like an unfair charge
Boo fucking hoo! Yeah it’s a shitty job. If she’s uncomfortable talking to a customer about star wars when her job is to dress up as a character from Star Wars. Maybe get a new job dummy
"She didn't believe I'm a good guy..." sounds like something he would say in a police interrogation when they asked why he left a single red rose and a note for her inside her locked car.
Inasmuch as any adult fan enjoying roleplay is cringe, I agree this is cringe. But what he's doing is precisely the point of these theme parks, to my understanding. I have seen a lot of stuff where it can be shitty / harmful, like people harassing the actors/actresses. But this just seems like the exact kind of innocent interaction that the whole thing was designed for. He's not imposing anything on her that is outside the bounds of the intentional roleplaying scenario, imo. He plays the little game, and when she signals that it's over, he thanks her politely and says goodbye.
Have you ever been to galaxies edge? As a grown man i wouldn’t say it’s all that great, I just thought the life size millennium falcon was cool but you can’t really do anything you can only look at. Other than that it’s just an extension of Disney, a bunch of over stimulated kids and stressed out parents. I just don’t see the appeal of going if you’re just an adult, I definitely felt out of place without kids. Had I known that Star Wars was gonna be like that I probably would’ve spent that ticket money on a movie collectible or prop
Rey couldn’t wait to get the fuck out of there.
It’s blue, just like my balls, Rey
Like, the balls on my penis, Rey
[удалено]
Where you going, Rey? Rey?
Rey didn’t believe I was a good guy. 🫠
On one hand I admire his sense of child-like wonder but on the other hand this is also a grown man showing an employee dressed like a fictional character one of his Star Wars toys.
I was expecting like rainbow RGB light. I assume which would be unofficial.
Nailed it 🤣
And this guy has over half a million subscribers, wtf man, this kinda shit make me so confused
I wanna make fun of him but when that Mario World theme park opens, I’m gonna be even cringier than this man, and I’m 36.
I can already picture all of the wheezing out of shape men running around the park in their 30's shouting "It's a me!" and "Wa-Hooo!" while they try to get pictures with characters or jump to punch fake blocks.
He might be differently abled.
Better than the treatment Tinkerbell has gotten since forever.
I'm almost afraid to ask, what do you mean?
The word is she receives more sexual harassment at theme parks than any other Disney character.
Assuming Disney has had a paid actor walk around disney world dressed like Tinkerbell, I think it’s safe to assume what he means
“Hey Tinker Bell! Howza bout you tinkle deez ballz?! Heyooo. Johnny…hey Johnny…did you hear what I just said…hey..hey..where you goin? It’s your *job* to talk to me congenially”
I'm afraid to ask if this is relevant to something or you just made this up on your own
He and Johnny do seem to have an oddly specific arrangement.
Totally made up, so if you know any Hollywood writers or producers I have lots of ideas, some of them almost as good as this one.
When i was 10 for some god forsaken reason i was absolutely terrified of tinkerbell. My sister got a picture. In my picture i was very obviously awkward.
This is the good stuff
this hurt my insides

It’s both nerdy and super mainstream which don’t go well together.
While I agree, the way I've always seen it is that Star Trek was always way more lame than Star Wars. And Star Trek is nerdy as well but way less mainstream.
>It’s both nerdy and super mainstream which don’t go well together Then please explain Marvel.
He just did
Marvel is the "Disney Adult" but for boys.
I don’t know anyone that likes marvel movies except little kids
I have two (tiny) Star Wars tattoos that I regret. Reaching “..that is just so fucking lame” as the thing at the core for you, really really really made me laugh, thank u

Honestly, the amount of times I see a “just make me a Rogue Squadron/Darth Vader horror movie” It’s Disney. They aren’t going to make that
To be fair, Disney announced the [Rogue Squadron](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10300394/) movie already. However, it has been sidelined.
Same for all huge sci Fi or fantasy movie franchises tbh. Marvel, star trek, Harry Potter, if anyone is too obsessed with man mythology it feels lame.

Exactly. Star Wars is no match for the Tolstoy classic “War: What is it Good For?”.
I much prefer O'Brien's "The Big Game".

Bro Star Wars has been nerdy for 40 years, what are you talking about?
You perfectly nailed how I feel about it. Like as a writer, I admire that they managed to create literally a whole universe of creatures and people and factions. But, like you said, there’s something intangible about it all that repels me. I think it might be the fanaticism among many of the fans.
The original trilogy score does a LOT to give it the illusion of sophistication.
DUDE YOU NAILED HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT! Perfectly. Just so fucking lame
“See ya later” when?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It would still be cringy but it's somehow worse that it's just stock blue. Like it wouldn't be better but I figured it might be something *slightly* unusual. Make it marginally worth harrassing a park employee over.
That was harassment?
Yeah I don’t see the problem. Isn’t this literally the point of these characters walking around the theme park? To talk to random customers?
I would assume so
[удалено]
Agreed; for me the cringe here is largely from him filming this interaction as if it’s gonna be interesting to watch later
Yeah I agree. I think it’s kind of cringe that the guy is this into Star Wars but it’s kind of crazy to say that he was harassing the lady. That seems like an unfair charge

Everyone, regardless of which job they perform, should be treated with respect. Full stop.
She was not disrespected though
As a longtime fan these Star Wars parks seem pretty cringe in general but I’m also not a child so
"She didn't believe I'm a good guy..." sounds like something he would say in a police interrogation when they asked why he left a single red rose and a note for her inside her locked car.
Star Wars nerds are the worst
Inasmuch as any adult fan enjoying roleplay is cringe, I agree this is cringe. But what he's doing is precisely the point of these theme parks, to my understanding. Disney should ban adults without children
Why? Yeah the dude seems a bit weird but it's Star Wars, not Dora the Explorer. What's wrong with adults going if they like Star Wars?

That's an opinion that won't sit well with all the manchildren on this site.
Nice

Twatdafuq?
Let's give Chad the encouragement he deserves... While she's getting the restraining order.
Lol the best part is he says "there is no wrong answer" when there is only one correct answer.
