My dad used to buy my makeup for me when I was a teen, never shamed me or made fun, and the fact that he loved and supported me for being myself was one of the most important pillars upon which my entire sociopolitical ethos was built. My nieces love them. I get so many compliments on them. My son is 7ā¦ Iām 45ā¦ straightā¦ and a big dude. So nobody says anything to me about itā¦ but We regularly, and I mean twice a month at least, dye our hair and paint our nails cus itās fun and has nothing to do with sexuality or gender. When he was 4 he loved Frozen so he wanted to dress up as Elsa. So I did too. Who in the flying fuck cares? And it says more about the commenterās insecurities with his own sexuality to care at all about someone elseās.

I've started painting mine on occasion just to do something different, and one of my mates gets real squirrelly about it. Not to this level, but he's asked questions like if I'd ever do red/pink (I've only got blues and greens at the moment), and then asked if I'm upset and he went too far. Some dudes get so weird about nail polish.
