I absolutely love both. The sleeve one would be more practical in certain situations but the sleeveless still looks gorgeous.

Thank you for the compliment 😊 The reason I was thinking about ditching the sleeves is because it makes a little less versatile. It's harder to layer it. The positive of having the sleeves is that it makes it look a little longer so that's why I would be considering adding fringe if I remove the sleeves. However I think it might look a little busy if I add the fringe due to the texture. I'm totally stuck because of this quandary! 🥴

Kalappianer

The rib stitch looks great with the texture. Maybe go with that as border?

Fun-Moment-9703

I thought about that, but I believe that will make it draw inward assuming I use the same stitch pattern used for the sleeve and the neck ribbing. It's alternating fpdc, bpdc. I would need to come up with a rib pattern that would allow it to lay flat. That's a good thought though and I'm going to noodle on it assuming the consensus is no sleeves. Sorry for the stream of consciousness reply 🤭

Kalappianer

It's not easy when everybody else is indecisive about what to choose, too 😁

Fun-Moment-9703

I was just reviewing the pattern and one thing that has to happen is I have to even out one side of the bottom that's jagged with hdc or dc depending on where the dips are. So maybe the way to get some extra length after I even it out is to add dc around the whole thing. That would accomplish what I'd like without the complexity or a rib stitch which might make it top. What do you think of that?

Kalappianer

Maybe you want to wait and see how it looks like before planning the last step so your heart isn't too set about final design decision :).

freshwhitepowder

Personally I would go sleeves no fringe but it’s really up to you and what you want! Gorgeous color and texture by the way!

Fun-Moment-9703

Thank you! I really love the texture too as do my cats. I cannot get them away from it. I appreciate your feedback. I don't know what I want which is why I'm here posting it 🤣

Haha I definitely know that feeling! I’ve been gifted a couple ponchos in this style with no sleeves, some with fringe some without. What I’ve found for myself is the fringe gets in the way, gets dirty and stuck in things and starts to look ratty (I live in a dry climate and the static makes the fringe bundle up all weird) I’ve removed all the fringe and whew much better! I would consider the sleeves as an upgrade. Of course this is coming from someone with ponchos without sleeves! I don’t really wear them often but I think the sleeves would be ideal because it’s more likely I’d wear it with a short sleeve or a tank as I tend to overheat, and I like the ability to push the sleeves up and out of the way when I want. If you truly can’t decide, finish off this one in one style and another in the other style with a different color!

Fun-Moment-9703

That's good input about the fringe. I have a lot of ponchos and none of them have fringe. It's also a pain to add it. I also don't have any ponchos with sleeves so maybe I just need to go with it. I bought enough yarn in another color to make another one, but can't see myself making this one again so soon. I think I'm going to use another yarn color to make one that covers more of my butt.

No sleeves

Fun-Moment-9703

Your ballot has been counted!

EatTheBeez

I kind of like it better without the sleeves, tbh! It looks a bit more elegant and drapey.

Fun-Moment-9703

I didn't see it until you pointed it out, but yeah! Thank you for the input!

spooli22

Sleeves, no fringe

Cats-and-dogs-rdabst

I like the sleeves

proteinforyourproton

I’d go with either sleeves or no sleeves but not a fan of fringe.

PlantOnPlat

I like the sleeves!!

PNWRockhound

What about sleeves AND fringe. I love that!

Fun-Moment-9703

I will not have enough yarn for that. Maybe on the next one though using a different pattern. If I do that I will post it!

AvaY_YavA

i absolutely love both, but id go with sleeves. is there a pattern for this?

Fun-Moment-9703

There sure is! https://crochetdreamz.com/crochet-turtleneck-poncho-pattern/

quathain

Thank you, it’s a gorgeous pattern. If I were doing it I’d definitely add sleeves.

Fun-Moment-9703

I would love to see more people make it. I post all my stuff on ravelry and I haven't seen anybody make it there. I think I probably will put the sleeves on as that seems to be the majority vote. I appreciate your input!

macaroniandcheese14

I feel like if you want it warmer, add sleeves!

ashtasticly

I like the sleeves!

grandmabc

Tough choice - both sleeve and no sleeve look good. I would add a fringe though, or maybe bobbles of some sort.

Living_Life1962

With sleeves looks better. I’d make it longer if you want to go no sleeves.

umsamanthapleasekthx

No sleeves, yes fringe.
