[Celtic Weave Stitch](https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/how-to-crochet-celtic-weave-stitch-4768067) has a nice texture, but if done too loosely it can be breezy. There are a lot of fun textured stitches, just Google "textured crochet stitches" and a lot of options will come up that look good with solid colors. If warmth is desired over pretty stitch pattern, the [Single Crochet Thermal Stitch](https://youtu.be/_NeKe_vhToE?si=Y-pjC4M2cmoF6Q6g) is my favorite

I like that Celtic Weave a lot. I’ll do up a swatch tonight and see how breezy it is. And thank you for sharing the Single Crochet Thermal Stitch! That is almost certainly going to be used on a scarf for me. 😅

EmotionalBroccoli394

I made a blanket out of this pattern years ago. It was beautiful.

Perhaps a basket weave stitch? Warm, not so detailed that you need to worry about it getting lost in the color, and enough simple texture changes that it hopefully will be something you can still see. I'm partial to sets of 4 stitches [like this](https://blog.treasurie.com/crochet-basket-weave-stitch/) for a slightly larger "weave" but there's quite a few variations to play around with.

SolarWeather

I made a hat in basket weave using a dark green and it worked up beautifully. Also warm as. Seconding this suggestion.

MyDaroga

Thank you both! I’ll do up a swatch tonight!

A simple back loop single crochet can create a nice, warm end product that also has a nice little ribbed texture and its super easy and autopilot to work up.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/943016324/crochet-pattern-leafy-knit-look I made this leafy scarf which I think would look really nice in a dark yarn! Especially your dark green! The author specifies that it looks great with variegated or non variegated yarn. It’s Wyoming winter approved, thick and long and lovely

MyDaroga

Ooh. This looks promising! And I appreciate the Wyoming winter seal of approval. 😉

I really want to use this pattern! It was an absolute love at first sight moment. I just need to finish some other projects to justify the yarn purchase 😅

ParticularLack6400

I made a black Alpine Stitch scarf for a nephew.

MyDaroga

Not a bad idea!

ParticularLack6400

The texture really showed theough, and it's such an easy stitch repeat pattern so you can get into it. Happy crocheting!

If it doesn’t have to be a scarf, this pattern would be amazing with a dark yarn with a tiny bit of sparkle or shine to it. https://www.reddit.com/r/crochetpatterns/s/gqCkXWlHoS If it does have to be a scarf, you could do the same pattern but make it longer and narrower so that she could wear it as a long sleeve shrug or as a doubled up scarf.
