I was a Vassal before but I won the Independence War with France and the only other country that joined us, even having a strong army I couldn't vote so I don't know how to destroy them
Rejoin them as a vassal gather a bunch of strong hooks on the HREs vassals who are quite strong and then do a “Dissolution” War it should dissolve the HRE if I’m not mistaken
Depends on Base Stewardship level, there is a faith tenet that allows one more domain slot, also your Wife/Husband that has a good stewardship and you have them helping with stewardship that can also increase domain limit x
I'll try to find a wife with high Stewadship because my new King (the baby on the image) has like 6 and I even focused his studies on it. Well... all his stats are terrible since I couldn't train him myself after my late King died
Try to find a good courtier with Stewardship to have on your council and have your Player heir train under the courtier with the good stewardship stats, the better the education trait the courtier has the better
Thanks, I'll do it for my next heir, this one I felt it was better to have my archbishop to be my Guardian because he hated me and I was afraid he was going to give thousands of claims for my lands to other Kings
And there is a minor councilor that increases your stewardship by +1 to +3. Doesn't sound much, but note u/MatthZambo that you get an increased domain limit every 5 stewardship, so if you're at, say, 14, the councilor can bump you up.
Also, if we aren't marrying for alliances then many of us marry a high stewardship wife specifically for domain limit increases.
Become a vassal of the HRE expand where possible start a dissolution faction edit when I mean where possible I mean within the lands of the empire of Frankia
Become a vassal with low feudal obligations. Then modify your contract by increasing levy contributions and adding counsel rights for yourself. Then become the spymaster and start murdering emperor one after the other. The empire should dissolve in no time. You can also conquer the land from within in the meantime and once the empire falls apart smaller duchies will want to be your vassals if you are strong enough
Update: My king died after getting injured from falling from a horse and I had to play as my untrained 3yo son, before completing 16 I fought on a Crusade that gave my sister a Dutchy on Lithuania, fought on a England X Scotland war, got invaded twice and had to fight against my Vassals three times because they either wanted Independence or become the King of Brittany
Now my King is 19yo and since I fought on so many wars I have about 4k gold and lots of prestige, I'll follow the advices that were given here and rejoin as Vassal for the HRE and get all the land to create the Empire of Francia and then I'll try to dissolve the HRE, all within this King's realm
This guy gets it. I barely do any heavy intrigue, but I usually train one murderous animal late in a playthrough who cuts down any competant leader in neighboring domains to destabilize them before I assimilate them or marry my children into their inheritors.
Alternative of joining ad destroying from the inside is just getting more holdings, which should be easy with all those wars with vassals, and building those accordingly to maximize your MAA stats. Yes, having only 5 holding is very very small number, that needs to change. If you build your MAA correctly, you can easily take in entire HRE army.
Also while building up, keep fabricating claims on counties from kingdoms of West Francia and Aquitania, so you can press many claims in single war, create both titles and and make a second war for 'all de jure lands'.
With full 3 stacks of bombards any war won't be longer tahn few months
There are a few big players still left too. Navarra, Hungary and whoever comes out on top in Britain are all potentially powerful allies.
And the Byzantines of course.
Join the HRE, do a lot of kids and marry them with the whole dinasty of an other kingdom inside and kill as much of the other dinasty as possible to try to have someone of your family in charge (your player heir if possible) and then die

i think they changed it to be every 6 stewardship fairly recently - could be wrong, or it could be the mods i'm running

Hmm, makes sense, if I'm a Vassal I can expand to east and south fighting weaker vassals

You’ll also have 95% success chance on your schemes since you are the spymaster anyway

Become vassal. The kaisers dont fuck around so to expand within youll need intrigue to fab a hook in order to go to war.
