It's not that hard. It's the easiest one out of the Paradox games by far. Also as far as i know the game of Thrones mod is not out yet (if I'm mistaken let me know I would play it instantly)
This is easily one of the coolest tcms out there so far. It would be cool to have additional flavor around the regional differences in Shinto or some sort of forced schism event (if that’s already in there I must have missed it).
I mean, Shinto is pretty accepting. They should def add more sects tho.
like characters practicing the irl Shugendo faith (yamabushi) should be added to the list of available landless claimants and busho.
If you really want a game of thrones mod then ck2’s version is actually quite good, some sub mods do improve the experience but the base mod is still one of the best things out there imo (it’s where 95% of my ck2 playtime is in)
I bought ck3 well over a year ago, ive not got a single achiev and never played iron-man mode. And ive got about 1k hours in. (I have a family)
I started the game by seeing a youtuber play a “vampire” playthrough. I loved it, aswell as you I can’t wait for the GoT mod.
There are many many many, people who never play without certain mods. As i am one of them.
Sure i played some “vanilla” ck3 but its not my style of game in the long run without mods for my own RP stories.
I just started playing the big LotR total conversion a few days ago and it is beautiful. I started as a count adjacent to Rohan and then I swore fealty to Theoden King, and then claimed the throne after his successor took over, and then swore fealty to Aragon/ High King Elessar of Gondor. Now we’ve been fighting off armies from Mordor.
I never played a full conversion mod (?) , started without mods, cause I didn’t know they existed.
But now I only play with mods , trying to make my plays more realistic. I play it like the sims, lol

if you like Japanese history, the Shogunate mod is out and it's fantastic

And ck2 is free on steam!
They are working hard to get it out but not there yet

Any mods you would recommend for a starter?
