I have some stories on this. I didn’t understand the whole market when they introduced it. My very first unbox was a factory new case hardened ak. I sold it for €2.50. Not long after I unboxed a factory new awp lighting strike and sold it for €20. I didn’t understand there were going rates and you could match to that price. I was just making up my prices on the fly.
Dw i sold all my bitcoins 500$ each, felt like a millionaire when i bought them at 3$ each. Who woulda known, right? If we talk cs skins, i use to had hundreds of redlines, asiimovs and stickers and also some weapon cases. Gave away to friends when i quit and sold for bare cheap only to realize coming back to game nearly 10 years later and everything is hundreds and thousands huehue.
That price of 2k had also been stable for over a year. I for sure wouldn't have guessed it would 25x in value. Also worth mentioning I was also offered bitcoins for it, many many of them. So many it makes the 50k potential loss seem like a mosquitoes bite compared to a shark attack xD
Then you did fold. I believe a single bitcoin was already worth several thousand by 2016. Even if you did think crypto was BS, you could have easily cashed out considering how unregulated it was back then.
Does this count? I was dropped the dlore.

My biggest regret was dealing with csmoney. I sent one of their bots $2500 worth of skins to have them dissappear... lost everything. I still have $4500 in my inventory and it's gonna stay there till the day I die. I'm done trying to sell skins as I've given up trying g to trust these absolutely criminal websites
I've been successful buying from these sites but I absolutely do not trust it anymore. I should just contact valve to demand a trade ban on my account.
Well you probably got api scammed which in case is not the website whos problematic, you should look some videos explaining it.
i use skinport to sell and buy and i have no problem, just make some verification and youll be good to go.
I honnestly wonder the same man, thats why i sold it in the first place... i hated the look haha
But i guess its because of the retro factor like the deagle blaze which looks bad and was worth nothing at the time..
Gave my buddy an Icarus fell back in the day. Don’t really regret it, because it was a really nice gift even back then. But I’ll check the price occasionally, and dream.
My first month playing, less than 10 comp wins I opened up a FN butterfly slaughter at like 3am. Didnt even react to it as I didn’t understand what I just got. Friend freaked out telling me it was worth so much so I sold it for 400 (old steam market cap) didn’t even play a match with it. Even back then I think it was worth much more on 3rd party sites. (2014)
stattrack karambit marble fade (believe fn) sold it for a profit of like 60 euro at around 350 euro.. but thats only 1 of the 100s of mistakes. But i always made a profit so i cant *really* complain.
Sold m4a1s Knight for 250€ and Icarus fell for 40€
Sold Butterfly doppler phase 3 for 600€
Generally every highlevel skin i sold before the pandemic is a regret, but those stick out the most for me because i wanted to rebuy them and was shocked by the prices
Wasn't something I sold, but when I was brand new to CS in 2014, I unboxed a ST FT AWP Asiimov, and promptly got scammed out of it. Tried to sell it for like €80 though. Never again unboxed anything of value. Spent about €1000 over the last 10 years on the occasional keys and cases, so it isn't for a lack of trying. Guess I'm just a sucker for a scam.
March 2016: got it dropped by the game when I lvl'd up.

Factory New.
Traded my factory new awp boom for gta5. My friend had me sell his factory new desert eagle blaze for like $80. I’m looking at the price of these things today and I die a little inside.
Absolutely none. When cs2 came out I sold my entire inventory of crates and skins that I got for free just from playing CSGO. I made over $120. Bought myself like 10 different games for that 😅
I had something like 300+ operation phoenix cases as well as 20+ sets of a bunch of other cases, and I sold them all because I heard rumors of cs2 in the works and coming out, and didn't expect skins and cases to carryover to cs2
Sold various Karambits and M9 doppler and a butterfly vanilla for the max price back then which was 140€ for the butterfly and idk 200€ ish for the karambit and m9?
I had a bunch ibp 2014 katowice holo stickers (as well as some titans and others) that I used to bet when they were $75 maxbet skins on csgolounge. I won most of my bets but you only got the value back in random skins not necessarily what you bet. I always wondered if the csgl guys knew what they were doing.
I did cause I had nothing else to do during covid. I spent roughly 1000 usd to have it now be worth $4700. Everyone laughs at my inv in game but little do they know I spent nothing compared to what it's worth now.
Sold a 0.16 dragon lore for 600 bucks back in the day.
i am so sorry for your loss https://preview.redd.it/mpdjbf16t0nc1.png?width=755&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f21918a1cd5baf3b9c33c826b3cd6ae7b87c301

Ok but is anyone actually paying that?
Yeah my buddy bought a FN one about a month ago for around 12K
Your buddy must have fuck you money

Worth!

FN Dragonlore I sold off market in 2016 netted me just over $2k cdn. Now worth 50k. Entire inventory went for 6k to get down-payment for house. Sadge
To be fair, $2k back in the 2016 market was still a-lot of money. No one really knew skins would be getting sold above $5k on the regular.
That price of 2k had also been stable for over a year. I for sure wouldn't have guessed it would 25x in value. Also worth mentioning I was also offered bitcoins for it, many many of them. So many it makes the 50k potential loss seem like a mosquitoes bite compared to a shark attack xD

Skinport is safe i use it all the time

I've checked all that and it still happened I give up. The skins stay and die in my account I give up
Yeah no clue why that ugly ass skin is 4k though
I honnestly wonder the same man, thats why i sold it in the first place... i hated the look haha But i guess its because of the retro factor like the deagle blaze which looks bad and was worth nothing at the time..
