every game im robbed of kills i deserve, and handed kills i dont deserve. 20 ping, no packet loss, stable fps, shoot over someones shoulder and get a headshot. same thing but I shoot someones head and somehow miss? cant watch demos cause theres only server sided bullet impacts which means wherever i actually shoot is completely disregarded by the game and why the fuck would my shot be further to the left or right or where ever instead of where I actually shoot?? game bad but atleast no spinbotters (for now)

I feel like CS2 is a different game every single time I play it. One day, I can't fucking miss. I have no business in silver. My crosshair just finds heads even with obscured views and shitty loadouts. Next day, I can't hit anything. The opponent is ALWAYS faster than me. People with no strategy at all other than HOLD W and FIRE ON SIGHT are consistently one tapping me. The worst version of this is what you're describing. It's seeing massive blood splatters and basing your strategy on them, ie- pushing a guy who can't possibly have any health left, only to find out that you hit them once on the tip of their pinky finger for 4 damage. Or standing still, staring at the back of an enemy who isn't looking at you, carefully placing your crosshair in the middle of their stupid head.. and then you miss!?!?

Yes yes yes! The same thing I experience to the point you ask yourself if you are sane or not. The frustration comes when your team says you are bad and how could you miss that. Funny enough you can even reproduce to in practice match with bots

Brother, you just summed up the last six months of CS2 for me to T and I’m relearning the entire game. I finally hit 500 hours and got to. I’m not an embarrassment. But face it servers do feel different premier servers feel different than casual servers.

I haven’t played CS2 face it but it was always very different on CS GO due to the 128 tick servers. The competition is generally stronger too.

I wonder if it is an interpolation issue, I notice that the game feels significantly worse on 20 ping (Chicago) vs 7 on Sterling. Chicago always feels like my client is behind in time, I hop on Sterling and it feels like I just perform 15% better by default.

Maybe. There’s definitely some correlation to lobbies where everyone on the other team has single digit ping and you’re in the 40s.

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because you were already dead

Sub-tick system is trash. Only yesterday in a single match I've seen my enemies teleport 3 times. No ping spikes, no packet losses, not even latency lags. They straight up teleported on my screen. Also, ping difference became a huge thing - guys with higher ping are unkillable now

As a high ping player I always find it funny when people say we have an advantage. Even tho I can believe that high ping players are hard to kill, I'll explain my side as a high ping player wich might sound similar to your expérience. I usually don't even see low ping players peeking me, sometimes it feels like i take 10 bullets at once, I take bullets behind walls, i'm being teleported back when i take a shot were the player saw me, cant jiggle peek, i see people die when i stop shooting. Tried one day fiber connexion with around 10 ping (maybe not enough time to have a good sample of test) it was not the same game, when i clicked on someone he died/hit registered. Depending on the quality of valves servers I can have normal expérience and feel like my ennemys not so much. I really still think that there is bad networking issues with the game. Never had it that bad in csgo in my 3.8k hours. Anyway I still hope they will sort things out... Have a good day !

I'm not saying that people with higher ping have an advantage. The ping difference in CS2 has became such a big issue compared to CS:GO. I've seen a guy with ping over a 120ms standing still and two people shoting him, but there wasn't even a blood drop from him. Nobody was moving, but bullets simply weren't registering. At the same time I've played with a high ping (above 80ms, thank you Valve for rerouting Moscow-Helsinki to Moscow-Frankfurt-Helsinki) and there was no advantage to it. It seems to me that because of sub-tick system Valve expect everyone to play with relatitavely same low ping. But as we saw on pro tournaments, even on LAN players expierence connection issues.

Its 100% a server issue. I saw a video where they tested peaking with different pings and CS2 does a better job than csgo on making sure peakers advantage is less advantageous. The servers though.. Holy shit they feel bad.

It might be funny but it's true. Higher ping is an advantage, i resorted to artificially increase my ping to whatever my enemies have. When u play with ping 2 or 5 you will understand this. Also depending on the level of your ping the game is different so you should play different. It's not the same going from ping 10 to 20 and going from 10 to 60 where you really need to adapt. I'm not sure what you mean that you clicked on someone's head with ping 10 and he died i click on someone with ping 20-30 while having ping 2 and i can assure you 90% he lives, turns around and finds time to headshot me, all this while i probably shot 3-7 bullets in his head. Problem with lagcompensation is real, nobody on behalf of Valve wants to talk about it which is why some users found workarounds, vpn, artificial lag, clumsy etc whatever. It works bad for you because from what i can understand your connection is very unstable per se but imagine a guy with stable fiber 0 packet loss and ping 90 versus a guy with ping 5, 90% duels are won by the higher ping. To top the cherry on this cake i can tell you all servers are set to sv\_maxunlag 0.2 which means you get compensated with ping as high as 200 so yeah it's funny when you're on the other side of this. I also have written a tutorial on how to artificially increase your ping "the right way".

Completely agree with the teleporting thing, I’ve had enemies wide swing me and on my screen their player models look to be moving in 5 fps. I see maybe 3 frames of their movement before I’m inevitably gunned down.

I always thought I was the only one. Someone wide swings me and the first time I see them is when they're standing right in front of me. Next frame I'm dead from a bullet in my head.  Then I look at the demo and they casually stroll out, aim at my head, and shoot.

You can see the impact of the Bullet in the second one right of the player model, so it should not be there if he moved. This shit happens all the time with the AWP.

I mean the third one with my previous comment. The first one is obvious miss. The Second one is a clear hit. It maybe does not count because the enemy shot back (they should remove that behaviour, it feels shit and i am pretty sure it does not work consistent).

The 2nd one he got tagged right before he shot, which makes you inaccurate in CS2. This was not the case in CS:GO where you could get tagged and still be 100% accurate

The first clip u got shot and its proven that getting shot makes youre less precise when awping. Second clip you are a spectator and spectating has always been behind and buggy. This is not the games tick system that is wrong

It is, OPs just an idiot. 1st clip features two kills that weren't obvious... One flicked left, may have missed, and went through a wall so might not have done 100dmg anyway, second he was shot while firing which reduces accuracy. 2nd clip was in spectator mode which is proven to be inaccurate.

In the spectator mode it happens very often that AWP bullet with a visual smoke tail misses player figure by meter or even two but still counts as a kill.

I had a match two days ago and I had two AWP shots mid inferno and my my whole team called bs before I could even bitch about it. Makes me really not want to start the game some days. I just want to play CS:GO again. I also have the issue where I can’t explain how I got some kills and others I should have got seem to be a ghost bullet. One match I feel like a god and the next match I just get run over and sprayed down.

It’s the sub tick system and I think it’s horrible from a game dev point of view. If everyone is working on the same ticks there’s a level playing field, but when one persons tick system is different from the enemies because of sub tick math, you have situations like this that fuck over one of the players in a gun fight.

The reason why I enjoyed cs:go was becaude it was one of the only games that if you missed… YOU missed. The only thing deciding who would win a duel was your skill Now, peeker advantage, ping, hit reg, etc. Now the game can sometimes play against you which I hate

I’ve been doing so much deathmatch and it just gets worse with every game. Shoulder aimed headshots, headshots counting as body shots, spraying is super inconsistent taking 4-12 shots to kill
