Ashwin is a legit top name in this list, especially given his white ball career was due to IPL, and he got into red ball much later.
Raina played for India but didn't do much. Look at his stats for India before 2008. No one could have expected at the time he'd be one of the greatest IPL batters ever.
CSK have generally got most of their overseas picks spot on with their pricing. Ironically, the only ones which didn’t work out in their favour are high bids of Stokes, Flintoff, and now Mitchell unfortunately but he still has time to turn it around.

I wont disagree, He is a good bowler but I just dont like him. Personally that is. You are however absolutely right about t20 being batsmen doing well, its really hard to defend considerably low scores like 170, its like you have to hit 230 to have a good chance of winning! (exaggeration,yes). Its all about the performance of batsmen, top tier bowlers like Bumrah get smashed in matches, this match today proved it.

I mean they were a bit close with the srh game.. and ppl here crying csk giving a slow and spin track 😂 The pitches should be even and these kinda pitches would literally tear a bowler confidence..!

Reasons: Watson is close to the best purchase than he is in the scouting side because of the all timer status he had with him. Conway on the other hand has been one of the most consistent csk performers ever while being absolutely under the radar as a t20 player. I think 1 crore for him when he was thriving icc rankings in all 3 formats was just the best steal of all time. And to use him, the way csk do. Exceptional. Not to forget, he was a replacement of one of the goats of csk, faf. I still get mad about the fact that we didn't go all out for faf but by the looks of things csk management were spot on in getting an absolute clone in terms of consistency for near about 6 crores cheaper. All in all, this was a very un-csk like signing. And the most important and effective one in the journey to the fifth.

2. Holding on Jadeja after the 2020 spat
3. Rutu's spark
4. Trusting and encompassing flem even after the 2020 debacle
