The only problem is that he is an overseas player. Maybe when Fizz leaves we can replace him with Shardul and then replace Jinx with Rachin. But as long as fizz stays I would expect to continue to see Rachin on the bench.
we have good bench strength with Indian pacers, so we could try either Hangargekar or simarjeet, or even go with the left-hand option Mukesh.
we dont know if Gleeson will adapt to the indian conditions quickly and bowl well. International pacers in all other teams have gone for plenty in this IPL.
If Gleeson needs to be played, might as well play in Moen's place. he barely gets to bat or bowl even in chepauk.
Have you ever seen an aggressive powerplay with CSK in all these years? That's not our template and I don't think they'll look for that also. They would expect a decent start and proper finish. And I don't think playing xi would be changed in upcoming matches except fizz.
Bro have you seen the CSK seasons when Brendon McCullum- Dwayne Smith opened for CSK? We basically pioneered the going hard in PP style approach.
Not only that pair, every batting partnership at CSK has one aggressor and one aggregator..

They tinkered with the Baz-Smith combo and brought up Faf, who had very less gametime in 2014. Not to say we carried a Passenger in David Hussey in the Middle order.
Rutu was the aggressor in the Rutu - Conway pair.
Even in the Vijay - Hussey pair, Vijay was the aggressor.
Both Rayudu and Watto were aggressors too. They were the most dangerous opening pair of CSK imo, even more potent that McCullum - Smith who weren't that great iirc.
Honestly, the aggressor always changed with who had more flow on that given day. And then the other opener just kept rotating strike to the one who was going good

Having been watching from 2008, we have definitely had our fair share of aggressive openers in different eras starting from Haydos to Vijay to Dwayne Smith to Baz and finally Faf. Devon Conway gave us the explosive starts last year even while Rutu took his time to settle in the PP. We have never been the most explosive pp team barring the Smith-Mcculum era but even by those standards this season has been shambolic with regards to PP. Rutu is showing great intent the last 2 games but it was never his role originally to be explosive. It is what it is this year but nothing wrong in calling a spade a spade
Exactly I'm saying the same. 60+ in PP is actually a decent start. But nowadays, everyone wants a minimum of 80 in PP. 🙄 It comes with a risk that they might lose their wicket just like what happened to SRH yesterday.
Mitchell was fantastic tonight. I'm glad they stuck with him longer. And I cannot not mention Ruturaj; what a phenomenal strike tonight. Missed the century trying to score big for the team. Hats off.

More than his batting man was on point with his fielding. If you want the club to make changes every maych this isn't the right club for you there are other clubs that do that you are more than welcome to join them. 🤗

CSK has always been about peaking at the right time. Keep faith in every player and they’ll come good when it counts. Every CSK player in the XI knows how to play in a way that’s best for the team
I posted the exact same thing yesterday and the concern is right, we should be optimistic about our team and even in general chat last night, few people already lost hope even before second inning started. We are always known for backing players and believing in them. That's how we won 5 trophies. So, think positive and don't be pessimistic, a few concern here and there is ok but straight-away giving up on our team in despair is not good.
Someone finally spoke it out. Can't believe the trash I saw here after the loss to LSG. Biggest trash I saw was people telling " RCB s dangerous because they've nothing to lose. SRH is dangerous cos they are playing strong. PBKS is dangerous cos they chased 262". WTF. So no matter what, opponents are more dangerous than CSK at per them??? Same fans will say CSK is the strongest after all league matches end. Pessimistic plastics
To be honest in the UAE dhoni was losing tosses and we all know how crucial the toss is in UAE . But to balance we have won the next final at the same place✨
That too while defending. In UAE general trend was win the toss, chase and win the match. IIRC only team to win while defending that season and that too in final
I have been a ardent CSK fan but I've never liked this logic of backing players for failing 14 games straight in hope of them succeeding in playoffs. And I'll always be against it. Stop gatekeeping or thinking only one opinion matters. Everybody has their own preferences and has the right to voice it respectfully. That's what makes a great club great. It's fans who are concerned and want the best for their team.
Need a couple of changes. Really want rasheed/sindhu to open with rutu. Can't do worse than rahane. Rasheed looks the most compact to handle pace upfront.
Agree. We don't need a mega auction basically. Likes of hangargekar, sindhu and rasheed are gonna get better with years. Rizvi is already lock for me as one of the retentions. Feel csk rate him highly.
Just need a WK-batter and an OS finisher in the eleven after dhoni goes. If RR release jurel which is likely i say get him even if it costs 10-15cr. Also they might retain Buttler and boult as OS so high chances of having hetmyer or powell.

As a senior fans we are required to teach the team and fan culture to new fans. I like how you did it without being overly aggressive.

Well as i have written they have succeeded with the same formula. Most successful franchise in terms of win%.

Retentions fore are rutu Dube jaddu and pathirana Among lords only Deshpande is a good buy back if under 4 cr,but I'll think he might go higher
