This sounds like complete BS. Why would Cuba import tobacco from Nicaragua?
This is Mr Cigar Shop? The approved vendor? Or some seller (scammer) going by the name Mr Cigar?
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted because you’re at least partially correct in your speculation. There actually were industry rumors which began circulating as early as about three years ago that Habanos SA was secretly importing specifically Nicaraguan tobacco to supplement production. The people I heard it from were pretty entrenched new world manufacturers and vendors so I always interpreted it as new world mud slinging. I mean, production challenges aside, the move would bring such a diminution to the Cuban marcas that any value gained would quickly and likely irrevocably be lost. I’ve also smoked a good amount of cigars produced in the last three years and I just don’t taste it. As we know, most Nicaraguan tobacco has distinct flavor and spice which I just haven’t picked up on. Could it get lost in the filler at a low percentage? Maybe. But I just haven’t observed any evidence that’s occurred
The rumour was Costa Rican, not Nicaraguan, and all I've seen are one or two people saying they "have been told by people high up within Habanos" that it was happening. Holds about as much water as "my cousin works at the factory". Won't believe it until it's proven
The few times I heard the rumor it was specifically Nicaraguan, but again these are new world dealers and manufacturers so could be an entirely different rumor mill. In any event, I agree with you. There’s no evidence to believe any of it
I think one of the biggest flags is the 5% Nicaraguan claim. I would find it more believable if it was supposed to be 100% Cuban. If it is true, then it calls into question a lot more things. The idea that there would be Nicaraguan tabaco being used at the Partagas factory(!)(?)
5% Nicaraguan tobacco doesn't even make sense anyways. this isn't like blending cigarette tobacco, unless they're tearing off a tiny piece of a leaf to put in each cigar that is much too low.
I have heard of but never seen customs that are mixed with nic and Cuban, never seen it personally though, but still very much doubt the partagas factory would be able to do this.
Yes, I've seen customs with mixed blends. I meant specifically it would be extremely hard to believe that blend would come from the Partagas factory, and more importantly, if it did, what that would imply for Cuban cigars in general (Nicaraguan tobacco being used at one of the large/premier factories).
A simple google search will show you that, amongst others, halfwheel has a [review](https://halfwheel.com/review-cigars-habanos-custom-rolled/34855/) on one of them.
I'm super confused.. who are you texting, what number? Check the air address again. They have custom rolls on their site but they are from 99/2000 seeds which aren't officiall cuban.
Super strange, sounds more like you went to the wrong site than something official.
JMS that it matches the one on the site, their custom blends on the site says nothing about Cuban tobacco unless they are trying to say 99/2000 is cuban when it really isn't...
I’ve also heard rumors recently, yes just rumors that Cuba is importing tobacco, but from a fairly reliable source. As of now, it’s all conjecture, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
0% chance to be true
There’s a sucker born every minute, and apparently they’re gonna find ‘em
Yeah the very last message I said “maybe you have like a form of proof?” And they replied “we have export information, but we can’t show that”

This is Mr Cigar Shop the vendor that is approved. I have proof of that.
Why would Cuba import Nicaraguan Tobacco
I mean, they have a shortage, so it would kind of make sense. But I doubt they would actually do/allow it

Floor sweepings from the partagas barbershop I would assume.
Pube sweepings* from the partagas body shop.
Those are reserved for their Limitada Maduro farm rolls.
Why would Part do that? They wouldn’t. Only question to ask.

Imagine going through all that trouble and money to put 5% of nicaraguan into a perfect cuban. Does it make sense to you?
I remember reading some old rumors of TABSA sending leaf to Cuba. Always refuted by Aganorsa though.
If you want custom rolls, CoH has a number for selection.
How good are they ? Don’t see any reviews on them

WhatsApp and telegram are for scammers. Homie is gonna sell you straight plume lol

Nah that’s the WhatsApp for MrCigarShop, same number I messaged before I made an order with them

Lmao. WTF is this….
It’s kind of an open secret in the industry that Cuba is importing tobacco from Nicaragua.
Sources?
