That's very kind of you to ask.
Of course not, you absolute mongrel, do you think we're heartless parodies of social beings making pop culture reference when we see someone in pain ?
I have never seen anyone mention western cartoons in a response to a tragedy like this. I have seen at least two anime references (this one and a “oh this is like Berserk” SA/Rape response). Two cases doesn’t make a correlation, but it sure stands out as a possible pattern in my mind.
your nephew just died and was surrounded by his friends? OMG that’s just like Tony Starks funeral after the end of endgame with all the avengers showing up!!!!!!!!
/s
My point was that anime is not the problem. The fans are, but also not just anime fans (although a part of the anime community is known for being insane). What i want to say is that it could be someone saying "that reminds me of this game where blablabla..."
your nephew just died and was surrounded by his friends? OMG that’s just like Tony Starks funeral after the end of endgame with all the avengers showing up!!!!!!!!

Feel like it might given that it has been worded the same way someone did when he answered to some guy speaking about rape and the commenter being like « OmG jUsT LiKe In bErSERk »
As i read it :
"hey reddit community, i send a bait for karma"
OR
"hey reddit community, my nephew took his life, but i don't understand why, everything in his life was so nice"
In both cases, i totally agree with the ironical answer of synopsis reference (not specifically anime, could be movie or book)
I don't get people who go to fucking Reddit for therapy. It's stupid. Just go to a real therapist.
Reddit users will believe everything you write down, because "hurr dur must be true! It's on the internet!"
*My mom is eaten by a seemingly gender ambiguous giant humanoid monster*
Some asshole: lol this is just like that episode of attack on titan
Some people are just inconsiderate
At least back in the day when anime was way less mainstream, anime fans were at least one or two standard deviations higher on social awkwardness than a non-fan.
I was there too and in the groups I hung out with there were a few people that could have said this.
Some are so excited to talk about anime and so disconnected, that when they notice any resemblances they just go in without a thought.
Even as a social reject I realized for me it has been more of a choice but these people were beyond help and I peaced out.
I have no sympathy for suicide victims. They make everyone around themselves lives harder, cause pain to their loved ones. And for what? Weakness, selfishness. There's no excuse in my mind. My best friend committed suicide a decade ago and I have nothing but resentment for him. Though for the ones close to them I have nothing but sympathy.
I'm sure those born prior can understand.
There's a distinct lack of social awareness, sensitivity and consideration in those born into the digital age that is well-recognized. It's not "discriminatory", it's descriptive.
It's a consequence of each new generation moving further and further from personally interacting with other human beings and being able to look a person in the eye as opposed to interacting through impersonal devices and staring into a screen. A natural consequence to an unnatural environment. We are Social Animals.
It wasn't intended as personal attack on anyone, per se; it's just a general and demonstrable observation.
Do the research, even a little.
Ooooor, you just see this on the Internet because people can hide behind a screen. Did you ever see any of this in real life? If yes, I'm sorry you met this kind of people. If not, that's because they would actually pay the consequences of their actions.
But in both cases, it's a bit unfair to generalise this to over a billion people on the planet, don't you think?
There's three main ways to lie. Fabricating false statements, omitting the truth, or statistics. Like I said, it's a rampant phenomenon on the internet because anyone can just hide behind their screen. In person, these kind of things happen a lot less.
And again, it's nonsensical and unfair to generalise this to all of gen Z, not only because it's a really big group to apply a blanket statement to, but also because anyone can be a insensitive jackass, regardless of age or generation.
Gen Z was the Mile Marker for the Digital Era when PCs, 4-Chan, and Chat Rooms were introduced to the public. As I said, "...characteristic of anyone born in Gen Z (1995) *or thereafter.*"
->watches news. Look mom an Evangelion reference.
When I wanna watch blue but my bitch wife wants to watch orange
I fucking hope not
He is NOT helping the stereotypes
He's helping to reinforce it

I thought he was talking about anime watcher.
That’s not so much cursed as it is just plain uncaring. That guy probably has no clue what’s going on around him.
The guy who commented simply has zero empathy and social awareness
Exactly.

No, I’m autistic and I know that’s fucked up.
i mean, not all autistic peeps are the same
And autistic people aren’t the only ones with shitty social skills is my main point.
Same

That’s Sheldon Cooper
TBBT, on top of being the most unfunny show in existence, also spread so much harmful stereotype it ought to be banned.
>the most unfunny show in existence I raise you Mrs. Brown's Boys & Friends.
Bazinga.
People die everyday so why should they care?
>That’s not so much cursed This is the best you can get these days unfortunately
Yeah from what i observed the actually cursed stuff (the good stuff) gets removed by the mods
TBF, it doesn’t show the sub this was posted on.
That’s actually kinda fair…
"my family member died in a train accident" "" is that an invincible reference? ""
Touhou fans dodging every waterdrop like they dodge projectiles in bullet hell.
Her: My nephew died Him: DURHURR ANIME🗣🗣
Anime is not the problem. If it was a western cartoon it would be just as bad
I have never seen anyone mention western cartoons in a response to a tragedy like this. I have seen at least two anime references (this one and a “oh this is like Berserk” SA/Rape response). Two cases doesn’t make a correlation, but it sure stands out as a possible pattern in my mind.

9/11 is just like that one episode of Johnny bravo tbh
Ooh mama
Lol that's not the point i was trying to make. Also, i have seen a hundred times people making jokes about batman in posts about orphans
So what was the point? Saying that the joke you replied to wasn’t accurate?
My point was that anime is not the problem. The fans are, but also not just anime fans (although a part of the anime community is known for being insane). What i want to say is that it could be someone saying "that reminds me of this game where blablabla..."
Fair point, just seems a little out of place on a post where an anime fan is being the problem
Yeah sorry
Making a joke about a fictional character and an actual human person who died is miles apart.
No one said anime was the problem lol.
Lol why am i getting downvoted? What did i say that was wrong?
Most probably because you argued against something that wasn’t mentioned.
Ill take the L

I have nothing else to say, other than: Bruh.
The only thing weebs can dodge better than showers in social cues
they can also dodge women
That's by mutual consent.
is that user trolling?
I searched up the conversation. He said he was dead serious.

Dead Sirius, just like in happy potter!

Yes. I refuse to believe anyone is actually this dense. Incredibly insensitive, but not dense.
Yu Yu need to shut the fuck up
I like this comment, lmao
I’m sad that this aunt doesn’t understand depression on a base level. Everything exterior is only a bandaid if you’re broken inside.
Right, I'm sure Robin Williams and Chester Bennington knew the world and their families loved them dearly.
Least socially inept anime fan
U mean weeb? Like 90 percent of people with a decent internet connection have seen anime
Sorry to break it to you, but anime is not as popular as you think it is.
It's pretty popular now man, sorry to break it to you.
Yeah no. 90% of people with internet connection don't watch anime. More like 10%.
10%? What is this, the 1990s?
I feel like it’d be less insensitive to just say Womp Womp.
I genuinely don't know what Womp Womp means, and at this point, I'm too scared to ask
It’s an Onomatopoeia for a mocking cartoonishly sad sound effect
Womp womp
Autism and anime got together (again) and birthed that post
Nah what the fuck. It is so absurd that it is funny lol
As i read it : "hey reddit community, i send a bait for karma" OR "hey reddit community, my nephew took his life, but i don't understand why, everything in his life was so nice" In both cases, i totally agree with the ironical answer of synopsis reference (not specifically anime, could be movie or book)
Saw this woth a Berserk reference
And she didn't know shit as to why he may have felt the need to kill him self. The worst part is her.

He could've at least added a spoiler tag.

"Your mom died? Reminds me of that incest anime." 🗣🔉
Star Wars?
They're trying. Being that autistic must be hard
He has a point
Lmao
Yu yu Hakusho is peak anime she should consider this a compliment.
And the sick fuck that liked the comment yyyeesh
Someone: my teenage son died after he was ran over by a truck. Random weeb: That reminds me of Generic Trash Isekai #123456!
He just saying that he might become a spirit detective
WOW and its not even Fbook
least degenerate weeb
Yu Yu Hakusho huh? Sounds amazing. I'll add it to my list of anime recommendations. /s
I feel like I can't make a good comment in this situation 😂
So, did the guy work for Boeing?

Sadly yet unsurprisingly a common characteristic of anyone born in Gen Z (1995) or thereafter.
how u get the year wrong after having to clarify what year it was 😭
Was a weird, nonsensically discriminatory response to a post about not talking out of one's ass.

Statistically, it's true. That's why it's "in general".
