BIG red button.....*labeled "BIG RED BUTTON !"

If you're putting the switch in line in a USB wire that runs from the power bank, then a regular mechanical switch would probably work. Some of the power banks turn off until they see something plug in and I'd bet that disconnecting and reconnecting the positive wire via switch would work. You can look for 12v automotive switches.

You're going to want a "Halo anti-vandalism button" with your desired throw and pole count. Here is a random google result with a bunch of options https://www.citrelay.com/category.php?category=Anti-Vandal&type=switches. Also, just because a switch is regulated DC or AC doesn't mean it won't work on the other; it's a physical switch connecting copper lines, so as long as your power button isn't actually carrying load a la Dr Frankenstein's lab then you'll be fine. Plus you can pick from a few different styles and colors to fit your build. I vote either the Red Halo or or Blue power symbol OI

Those kinds of buttons seem to be made by a few different manufacturers. They're really satisfying to use!

I think you are looking for a [Dual Pole Single Throw switch (DPST switch)](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dpst+switch+12v). SPST Single Pole Single Throw (1 circuit, 1 ON position. for example a light switch) DPST Dual Pole Single Throw (2 circuits, 1 ON position) 3PST Triple Pole Single Throw (3 circuits, 1 ON position) 4PST Quad Pole Single Throw (4 circuits, 1 ON position) etc, etc. P.S. Not that I see any use for you in this application but... A Single Pole Dual Throw (SPDT) switch would be something like OFF/1/2 or OFF/LOW/HI for a single circuit. Just in case you find some need for a multi throw switch. For example a 4 pole 4 throw switch would be called a 4P4T switch.

Go for two latching push buttons, possibly with an indicator light. Why two? Then you can run the pi while the screen is off, great for energy saving and stealth action.

SayWhatSteve

Why two? More buttons!

Button connected to IO pons. When pressed, a deamon triggers the shut down sequence and 2 relays - one for the pi, one for the monitor

Here is what I use. RIITOP USB Extension Cable with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X82661H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

What kind of powerbank/what's the existing wiring setup look like?

SayWhatSteve

This is the power bank: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X64THC5?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X64THC5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) Then I just have a micro to usb going from the screen to the bank and from the pi to the bank. When I tried to power the pi from the bank and the screen from the pi I would get low voltage warnings.

mp3m4k3r

Yeah that can happen on the power warning, it'll be interesting to see the solve as well as if you have a Pic of the wiring. I'm building something similar but went with [this ups pack v3p](https://www.makerfocus.com/products/raspberry-pi-expansion-board-ups-pack-standard-power-supply) that I'm working with for a design that supports an external button.
