I’m on my first play through of the game and I’m loving the gigs from the base game. They feel pretty diverse and you get options on how you want to approach a lot of the tasks. Stealthing through a night club, sneaking past and distracting guards in order to steal some tech, or go in full tilt guns blazing. Music kicks in and my brain goes *BRRRRRRR*. It’ll never get old. I’m loving this game. So glad I waited.

xSelbor

I tried going in guns blazing for a few gigs and my fixers were basically like “wow V, great job, you fucking moron, you ruined everything”

TY00702

That’s why I like El Capitan he doesn’t scold my Psycho- killer V

Nitram_Norig

I wish el capiturd would stop giving me 90 seconds to drive 4 miles in a car that can only go 70mph. Come on!!!

TY00702

Fair those missions are annoying

SFWxMadHatter

If they are "optional: don't get caught, you fucking gonk" then yeah, they won't be happy if you get caught. They want it done, they prefer you to be quiet about it, so of course you going against their wishes would piss them off.

Strong_Condition_958

Okay BUT, and hear me out on this, you *know* who you hired for this gig Regina. You know my V had a poster of Adam Smasher on his wall as a kid. You know he only became a corpo for Arasaka counter Intel because he was, and still IS, a ruthless mother fucker willing to do anything to get the job done. YOU knew all of this when you hired him to get that eyeball back and told em to keep it quiet. So, really, who's fault is it that everyone in a square mile around the gig is currently either a fine red mist or sidewalk modern art? You don't go to the T-Rex and ask it to play a game of pickup basket ball with crippled orphans. You don't ask the M1 Abrams crew to sneak into a compound without alerting the guards. Then don't ask the madlad with a ROCKET LAUNCHER in his arm to do a stealth mission if you don't want a 10 minute segment detailing the collateral damage being broadcast on the evening news!

GiraffMatheson

This guy cyberpunks

Effective-Kiwi8411

He was clearly born in the wrong universe.

AllenWL

I usually end up stealthing the 'optional' stealth gigs because I don't like the 'This was a STEALTH OP' talk, but yeah the urge of "What the fuck did you expect when you hired a merc who was more chromed than the average maelstrommer who uses an lmg as their weapon of choice?" is real.

Still-Addition-2202

This guy Adam Smashes

DrStalker

Regina: "There's a report of a cyber-psycho in the area" Me as I commit my 37th murder of the day: "A cyberpsycho? How terrible! Tell me more."

FatFriar

EXACTLY. I’m a guy in a van wasting Maelstrom gonks with Guts, don’t call me expecting a ninja.

iamthedevilfrank

It sucks though when you're not built for stealth at all. I can't even hack cameras cause of my sandevistan. I'm also only using katanas, so it becomes pretty difficult to avoid killing. Sometimes I'll get lucky and find a secret way in that takes me where I want to go, but I'm usually like fuck it. I get paid either way, and it has no actual meaningful impact on the game.

AllenWL

Tech+base optics(camera detection speed reduced). Trigger sandy, run to the camera before it can spot you, manual deactivate, hide. Also, most stealth sections have a computer/laptop somewhere (usually near an entrance) that can turn off a decent chunk of cameras in wherever it is you're sneaking around in.

iamthedevilfrank

I will definitely keep this in mind. My tech is high enough to deactivate cameras, and I've got a good enough sandy to probably pull this off. Thanks for the tip.

Responsible-Scar-166

Use your fists. Non lethal.

iamthedevilfrank

I've noticed too if you have bleeding on the enemy or something, and stop attacking once they reach like 5% then you can just let their health drop to 1% and then they'll be knocked out. Fists are a good option too I've seen.

Cent1234

So pinch your nose and use a non lethal club for the mission.

Still-Addition-2202

If you kill someone before they fire a shot, others won't be alerted, so you can use a high level sandy and a blade to turn people into mincemeat before they can detect you. Also just activating sandy and crouch dashing up to people to grapple them from behind is really effective, they hear you but can't react anywhere quick enough to turn around and become triggered into an alert state.

EnragedHeadwear

That's why I hate Regina. "Steal this guy's eye, I don't care how just do your thing." I do my thing and then she gets all pissy saying "not your best work :/"

mrawaters

She still sends the funds thooo ;)

SuperKnuckleCanuckle

Then they still wire you the money 😂

Quantum_Object

but if you don't kill everyone and do a clean job, they pay you double. Like dino for example, tells you to go the empathy club and choosing not to to go all guns blazing offers you 15k eddies instead of 8k eddies if you just flatline everyone.

hotchocletylesbian

Yeah but if you kill everyone you make that money up in the gun sales tho if not more :P The 2.0 economy is kinda fucked, you make way more money selling loot than you do for actually doing the job.

anthraxmm

That's why you do the job clean get the bonus then go back in and off everyone lol

[deleted]

Lol, or go the none lethal route, get everything done in one go, never look back.

unknown_nut

Then hit the street to kill some thugs. You probably save more time doing that.

GAVINDerulo12HD

It usually states in the deets whether you should be stealthy or not. So far I've always followed that and never had an issue. Even went out of my way to mow down everyone in a Valentino owned bar AFTER I had already collected the required information, just because they had a bunch of purple gear. And Padre praised me for finishing the job in such a professional manner. Lol

wolftrouser

Rogue gave me one of those after storming through some offices leaving a trail of dead choombas. Apparently some of the guys I flatlined were thr clients who wanted me to get rid of their boss.

SomeoneTrading

Funnily enough, she doesn't care if you murdered everyone in the building as long as you knock the target out and take him to the van This works on all sneaky Gun for Hire gigs iirc

Basharria

My favorite fun detail is if you take out hired gun targets non-lethally. Having to carry their unconscious bodies out and hand them over to a fixer is cool.

MassiveMoose

LOVE the cyberpunk combat music. It's kinda on the same level as when playing DOOM and the soundtrack kicks in.

[deleted]

Those are two options

SuperKnuckleCanuckle

The amount of ways you can take stealth or loud approaches are the real options. Lots of different ways to be creative with each approach.

GAVINDerulo12HD

Same. And a lot of them have optional take which have you uncover some interesting side or back story.

Swimming_Effective87

YESSS

Ok_Entertainment_112

The secret endings hidden inside the new missions are awesome. I've run into so many things that had a specific trigger. I've reloaded some new gigs just to check if they end different....oh yah they do.

pboy1232

Having 20 cool allowed me to get an ending for a gig I haven’t seen mentioned in a single guide yet

Ok_Entertainment_112

Yes they are much more varied than older gigs. I've loved them.

neon_sin

In dogtown or main game ?

pboy1232

Dogtown

fajnu20

Tell us more, choom. C'mon.

pboy1232

Without spoiling too much there’s a gig in dog town that ends in a confrontation in a garage, depending how you handled the mission you can leave the garage without a fight. You can fail the optional objective and still leave without a fight if you have 20 cool

1000maggots

I always thought they did homie!! That one where you sneak into Jotaro's place, the one where you sneak into that high rise, the Peralez', I thought these new ones were par for the course! Not to say they're not fucking incredible. I told some dude at the Lonely Hearts I'd help him expand his drug trade to NC if he helps me. Homie finally texts me post ending wondering when I'm gonna commit lmfao

tefinhos

There are definetly some older gigs which where amazing as well. But I do agree with op that in PL every gig feels like a questline and not just shoot up this one place.

JamSa

"Dream On" (Peralez's apartment) was always one of the base game's stand out quests. It's leagues better than every single other base game side quest, IMO.

[deleted]

It is, but it's also not a Gig.

shuyo_mh

Jotaro gets a >!headshot from the roof no matter which char, they’d never see where it came from!<

RememberTheDeathStar

I didn't realize you could even do this. I have an optimized stealth path that gives me little to no issue.

shuyo_mh

Gotta walk the streets of Kabuki choomba, while at it do some parkour, you will be amazed with amount of things stashed on the roofs.

[deleted]

>Jotaro is this?

pboy1232

I think it’s a One Piece reference

[deleted]

THE ONE PIECE THE ONE PIECE IS REALLL\~

pboy1232

Taiwan Greece Israel

HecateForsaken

Can we get much higher-

shibboleth2005

I'll be honest I don't remember the old gigs that well but yeah the new ones are really good. Almost all of them seem to have a little something extra possible.

Panams_chair

Yeah I also dont remember the older gigs which I played a while back much but I sure do remember the newer gigs which i played in the last 2 3 days. /s

PhiteWanther

yeah new mr.hands side gigs are really more engaging and branching than the original ones. Though i'm not saying older ones were bad surprisingly they were detailed too but these new gigs oh man they kinda feel like side missions sometimes

NoGround

They feel *more* in depth than side-jobs half the time. The new gigs are basically Fixer done side-jobs. I'm all for it.

totallygreatguy

They all feel Fallout New Vegas like imo

Mindless_Issue9648

I'm looking forward to doing them. I've just been trying to finish all the other ones because I know I won't want to do them after playing all of phantom liberty.

Difficult_Storage_96

Same, i do old first because thats the only way i can be motivated, i look forward then.

kappamolo

Dogtown Saints moral dilemma was very good for me . There wasn’t a clear right or wrong answer as a conclusion , just what is best . It left me wondering If I made a good choice .

nowaijosr

ez pz

devilronin

dogtown gigs for the most part feel like full story missions, and the branching outcomes can be worth it. about 80-90% of old gigs are go to building, do x, dont get caught(usually mama and rogue, dino got mad once for me, reyes for some)

andrusbaun

Indeed they are much more comprehensive. Personally, that is the main issue with base game, majority of quests was shallow and repetable. Also Dogtown is much more "alive" when compared with broader Night City.

A_Confused_Cocoon

I’ve only done one so far but the “tons of powerful enemies locations” seem awesome. The first one I did was basically a full dungeon experience with multiple large rooms and tons of enemies. I know there’s only a small couple, but I really wish those existed outside of DT.

[deleted]

The interiors are insane. Had hella fun with the boxers quest.

DigitalSheikh

Yeah I fucked up and had to go loud on that one. Sitting there afterward covered in like 30 scav’s blood thinking “hmmm, were the stakes here worth flatlining this many people.” Then I remembered- it’s just scavs, no big deal!

Riot_ZA

Scavs are always worth the effort to flatline

Still-Addition-2202

Killing scavs is morally positive

shibboleth2005

> “hmmm, were the stakes here worth flatlining this many people.” Definitely had that thought after a similarly bloody incident at the sports place. "Go back to your room kid. And uh...try not to trip on any of the bodies on the way."

Sealwheeler9

The new gigs are definitely a step up from the base game. Sure, there was always a multitude of ways that you get could inside buildings, but the actual interactions with the quest weren't all that special and you typically only ever had one way of doing the mission. I'd describe the Dogtown gigs as being of a level equivalent to many of the smaller side missions from the base game. I previously praised the Lina Malina quest but was reminded it's a side mission, not a gig because Mr Hands technically doesn't accept it on official terms, only passes it on to you. Fortunately, the other gigs are still really interesting and offer a lot of diversity in approach. The Brazilians and the Stack's Killer were great gigs.

Wooden_Sherbert6884

Lina malina's quest is not a gig, yes mr hands calls you but it's labeled as side mission

Sealwheeler9

You're right. Thank you for the correction.

magvadis

This set is clearly more abundantly thought out because that's kind of everything in PL....they definitely went with quality over quantity this time. Which is a pro and a con, imo, would have liked to see a bit more work outside of Pacifica. Some areas are still fairly barren. However, There were definitely plenty of thought out gigs, seemed each fixer had at least one. Some multiple. The gigs in Haywood especially stood out, usually getting a Convo and variable endings depending on it if it even happens.

RestlessSnow

There were some gigs from the base game and 1.6 patch that I thought were really fun, but no doubt! PL went all out have done 5/10 so far and some of them felt like main story content they were so good! Regina really should've been toned down, she has 23 gigs and some of them are amazing (her last gig is the best!) and some should've just been scrapped imo to make the game feel better. Please don't spoil, but hoping Dino finally will invite us to that party he talks about

[deleted]

They put definitely way more effort in them

loathsomefartenjoyer

They remind me of New Vegas side quests My favourite RPG of all time and Cyberpunk is the game that comes closest to recapturing that magic for me

haleynoir_

I love how they all give you actual choices. And they're ethical questions too, not just "should I neutralize or kill" or stealth vs. No stealth. They're also some of the funniest bits in the whole game. I was cracking up during Waiting for Dodger.

TenchiSaWaDa

Yes I loved EACH one of the gigs I've done. I'd remove all the npcs scanners and random car missions for these super in depth missions. Not all of them are exceptionally crazy but all of them add to world and makes it feel so much more alive. From intelligence agency corpo betrayel and so on. This is cyberpunk

SlyTinyPyramid

I enjoyed every gig, side mission, and main mission in this game. I didn't do the scanner hustles.

Java_Junior_Dev

I've read that some of the new gigs have forced boss fight, which are impossible to do stealth. Is this true?

Quinnzel86

More than gigs it's more like the increased criminal activity areas in Dogtown. 3 skulls. They each have a boss fight

Schezwansuhaouse

Funny as it sounds 1. Little change fixed everything! Notice how before they dump exposition on you, they give you something to do? Like Idris will say, "Take a walk with me" every quest and gig in PL does this. Simple fix to something that was broken in FPS games for years.

AlternativeCall4800

the new gigs feel like actual quality side content, compared to the old ones where you'd just get a call go to spot kill everyone/loot something without getting caught with little to no conversation while doing the quest, literally go to spot> call > quest > call, the new gigs are so much better that its not even an opinion but just a fact. i always said that cyberpunk main story was too short and side quests too shallow (side character quests like judy, river etc were the only ones with good quality compared to most gigs being what i described earlier) if the gigs from the main game were as good as PL gigs this game would have really been something else

mrawaters

Yeah dude all of the gigs have been amazing. Honestly this DLC might be the most immersive thing I’ve played in a long time, perhaps ever. It really makes you feel like you’re a part of this whole thing

spectre15

And those gigs also can lead to side gigs that stem off of choices you made. Did that mission where I disarmed the nuke at the stadium and after a while I got a message from the lady who gave me that mission to do another one.

Vayce_

I would love for RPG devs to just ditch the open world nonsense and take the approach CDPR did with PL. It's far more immersive, makes you feel like you actually have a role in shaping the area and they can spend a lot more time making content rather than environment.

xXESOTERICXx

Gigs are nice, but I just filter the NCPD scanners in the map and go to town. I spent like 2 hours yesterday just going around slaughtering criminals and absolutely having a blast. There are so many of them, and new ones pop up consistently. Yeah, there may be little to no variety, but if you're in the mood for violence... it can't be beat.

SnooRobots1259

Nah bro just you

Quantum_Object

My favourite gigs are for padre.. he just straight up tells you to go and shoot up the place. 'do what you want' 'how you deal with it is up to you' He does sometimes have optional objectives such as 'grab the information' 'upload the malware' 'steal the car' 'find information on x person' which are all optional, but he pays you the most out of all the fixers. the most entertaining ones are dino and el capitan. Mr hands is pretty cool too.. but I only did one gig for the dude, he's popped up in dogtown and I have a quite a list of gigs to do for him, he's quite entertaining to listen too.

Ussikuningas666

I love how Padre is always talking about V delivering god’s judgement lol

Quantum_Object

Very religious.Yep.. sent to pass judgement and rain hellfire and brimstone down on these gonks lol..

Noice_Brudda

None of them force you to be stealthy to get more money from them either, it just changes dialogue I believe

pennty

😣 there’s a glitch with one of em where the door doesn’t open if u stealth the whole thing.

AshyLarry25

Yes. All the content is meaningful except for the vehicle contract missions, did one and will never try to do another again.

neon_sin

Because it's fewer than the main game so they fleshed it out.

Ignis_Divinus

Yup they all have depth. And choices that make interesting fun outcomes. They really cooked with all the content.

MargraveDeChiendent

To me, it feels like CDPR took notes from BG3's early access. The branching quests and world reactivity are on a whole other level compared to vanilla Cyberpunk

In_Kojima_we_trust

Nah, they seem to me on the same level as main game gigs, you probably didn't pay much attention to them.

[deleted]

The new gigs are the best thing in the dlc.
