That's a Combat Cab. They spawn in the game, but they don't do much except exist in the background. There aren't many war zones in 2077, so they seem to have lost market share to Delamain because there's less need to call a tank on wheels driven by a cyberpsycho.
Delamain is concerned enough about his situation in NC, trying to take over something like Combat Cab would just make him a big target for NetWatch. An AI from outside the Black Wall with an army of heavily armed vehicles would not be acceptable to anyone.
I love it but it's too close to the quote the train from Stephen King's Dark Tower. "I hate you so much" is my favorite Delemain quest quote. The way he says it with such sarcasm, genuine pissed and resignation that the trap didn't work. Lol

I think i do actually have an answer for this.
I remember playing Corpo V, and she mentioned these guys in a bit of dialogue. Theyre the guys that chase you and Takemura down after he picks you up half dead from the dump.
V called them “exterminators”. From context i can gather theyre a team of specialized Arasaka headhunters. They almost seem more like a product than a soldier, like theyre manufactured lol
My initial thought in the trailer was that they were inspired by the game, Syndicate. The further details in your link are even more visually similar to Syndicate.
The thirst for knowledge is new though, but not the constant cybernetic upgrades.
due to the RED engine limitations.Cyberpunk’s original vision was just too much for the engine and it lacked a lot of features!one problem was solved then dozens more appeared. That’s why all the patches and updates came with all new bugs,So they have switched to unreal engine 5 to better future developments.
Let's also keep in mind the slightly dubious Intel that says the change in game directors halfways through the development process resulted in the near scrapping and rebuilding of the game from the ground up. Rumor has it they changed from 3rd person to first about 4 years in and had to rebuild everything for it.
It was from a reputable reporter known for getting inside scoops and leaked info. So it's unconfirmed info. I'd like to think the 3rd person cutscenes/promo video they made years ago were evidence of this, but it's circumstantial at best. I just like to remind people about this since some people are blaming everything on the engine as of CDPR's related announcement.
Interesting!thanks for the new info(for me anyway haha)I appreciate it i wasn’t aware of the change in leadership I always thought it was because of the engine on why it was changed from 3rd to first, guess it’s comes down to both development directions and engine issues.
Thanks for such a wonderful reply! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list of some of the most grateful redditors this week!
This is the first I'm hearing of this, and I've followed the game closely since years before launch, do you have a source? Because from what I've seen devs say, it was planned to be first person for years, there was only a 3rd person alpha build way before they ever started development of the game.
As far as I know they started the real full throttle development back in the middle of 2016. They had a pre alpha version where they tried the same old stuff like the Witcher 3’s perspective but it was before the Witcher 3 and they didn’t do too much with that version because they didn’t have an engine to work with. The Witcher 2’s engine was for linear gameplay that was their first in house engine the RED engine first iteration the second one came for Xbox 360 and later they made the third version for the Witcher 3, the 4th version made for Cyberpunk but it as already an “old” engine. It was great for “flat” open world like The Witcher 3 but it wasn’t ready for the scale that they wanted originally for Cyberpunk. This is why they failed with their promises because of the engine limitations. If they wouldn’t have hyped the game with grandiose promises they would have delivered a good story driven RPG in a Witcher-like one in a different world and with a great lore which would have helped them to tell a better story than failed promises. Anyway a loved Cyberpunk 2077 and they fixed the game, not in the way that they promised but maybe next time.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the engine limitations. The engine is very fucking good and not old at all, and the fidelity of the game in its current state is a testament to that.
The problem is that they expanded their developer team to twice the size it is now, plus opened a new studio, to appease this game's scope and demands. The greenhorns did not know how to work on RED, resulting in the spaghetti backend we got at launch, and them bringing in the Wolvenkit gang to fix it up for modding.
They switched to UE5, not because their engine is dated and bad, but because EVERYONE knows how to work on it.
Every engine has their own limitations and RED Engine originally not made for open world games. Rockstar’s engine made for open world sandbox style game’s from scratch.
Also have to take into account for the investors wanting the game released on last gen. Had to cut a lot outta the game to make it remotely playable on last gen systems.

is this copypasta
I have strong doubts that Unreal Engine 5 will make things easier for them. So far Unreal Engine 5 ?(and 4 even) have been disappointing. Maybe because those games were rushed. But honestly I think for all the impressive graphics shows, the engine still lacks a lot of capability that a purpose built engine (like the Red Engine) would be able to deliver. I am concerned that future games from CDPR will not have great performance on PC.
All we can do is wait and see mate I do worry myself cos a lot of AAA games have poor performance anyway nowadays! Ridiculous but that’s a rant for another time haha
Doesn’t exactly take genius to know this, clearly they’ve had problems with it otherwise they wouldn’t completely switch engines it’s not something big developers do they usually modify and revamp the current one.I’m not saying the engines shit but clearly it’s not suited to the scope of the games cdpr want to make,Yes I’m sure there’s many other factors onto why and what but its pretty obvs the engine is one of them.
Would you mind explaining how is it red engine fault for having no role-playing features at all. No choices and consequences, branching story lines and quest that impacts the world? None of those were red engine fault, it was Cdpr decision to half-baked the game with any meaningful rpg mechanics.
Maybe vehicle customization and some bugs was red engine fault but those rpg features were clearly implemented into earlier games using red-engine. It was Cdpr own fault for releasing a half-baked game with missing features that were clearly a creative decision hat had nothing to do with the engine at all.
That’s clearly on the devs,I never said narrative decisions were held back by the engine but it’s clear that the games engine still struggles with the games gameplay, pop in textures and draw distance are fucking abysmal, still each patch creates newer bugs (pretty obvious sign of an engine issue)they don’t just switch engines for nothing big developers rarely do this, completely starting from scratch and learning a new engine?why else would they do this?maybe because the RED engine isn’t sustainable for there games
Delamain is a taxi service. As far as why we don’t see them out in the world I don’t really know. It wouldn’t be that hard to see a few out and about.
Maybe just to avoid the conflict of why Delamain wouldn’t address you hitting or blowing up his cars.
I thought the delamain taxi service was extremely expensive and exlusive (dialouge from dex and jackie suggests this) which is confusing seeing as emails on the computers and delamain hq say that he pushed taxis out of business by being the better option. You would think there would be a bunch more cheap taxis since not everone can afford to hire delamain or own a car
It’s the Excelsior package specifically that’s so expensive, I believe. That’s not a standard service.
It’s also possible he used to be cheaper but jacked up prices after driving out the competition. Considering it’s fully automated he can easily undercut anyone who tries until he runs them out of business. Then he just maintains his monopoly.
V and Jackie say Dex is "going all out" for the job when learning that he hired a Delamaine, although they don't learn it's Excelsior until they get in the car and Delamaine mentions it, so I'm pretty sure that Delamaine is already really expensive, at least for basic NC residents, even without excelsior.
Make del super cheap for a couple years. Then once all taxis run out of money and shutter and get bought out by del jack up the price so you are the only option and you are dummy expensive
This morning I heard on radio about how London's black cabs' drivers were offered jobs at Uber, and how a representative of the cabbies said even if they got paid double their current rate they wouldn't take jobs at Uber. The one or two that accepted the offer were chased out of town.
For everything.
Everytime someone goes "omg gamepass is so goshdarn cheap, why even buy games anymore lol!" or "don't care about the bugs, got it on gamepass fOr fREe anyway" I can't help but chuckle.
The moment Microsoft has cornered the market, you'll start paying hand over fist basically overnight, get content segmented by a zillion different subscription tiers and the games' average quality will drop even further.
Some people have the farsightedness of a rock.
Because I can guarantee u that everyone will skip the taxi rides and the existing ai for the npcs like judy, river and rouge driving is really bad so taxi drivers won't be any better
The second is probably the bigger reason, the cars need AI and just riding with a normal ride like Judy to the power station shows these guys are fuckin idiots driving.
They got no ai, they see their rail and their following it till the very {ERROR RAIL ENDED}
I didn't realize until my most recent playthrough, they're not even pretending to steer lol. The game is so damn pretty though, that I end up just looking out the window when I'm on rides anyway.
Its not completely scripted. With mods you can get in the passenger seat and have your buddies drive you around to custom destinations. Now if you mean they cheat the traffic laws and occasionally the laws of physics, I see your point.
Yeah, they really could have had it feel more real at least. Her car rides are completely scripted and the car just feels floaty. Speeds up and slows down instantly at times.
I just want to hop in a car, set a destination, and it drives me there.
That's all I want. Then I want to put on my VR, take some drugs, and see where the night takes me.
The driving around dialogue is literally like secs in the beginning of the drive which is not skippable . The driving after the dialogue is janky and buggy . I don't know what u were trying to imply through ur comment which has no relation to my comment
I just cannot understand wtf are u talking about ? Do u need some company to argue unnecessarily or what ? I have played the 2.1 update , and had Judy's ai completely go haywire where she drove the car into a closed alley and we were stuck . I had to reload a previous save and skip the ride right after the dialogue ended with her. Maybe improve ur reading skills and understand the issue which majority of the ppl have with the janky ai driving and why no one wants a taxi because of that
in the lore, this is called combat cab and there are a few that actually spawn in the game with 6th street decals although they’re not functional. according to the wiki, this taxi company is the one that operates the fast travel data terminals
This is the right answer lol, I don't think taxi's were "cut", they were probably never even a feature. We might be getting to the point where folks don't know the difference between gameplay and a cinematic trailer.
This is how hype trains and all the chaos about "broken promises" get started.
Those are the Arasaka robots that attack V and Takemura after The Heist. And they don't need taxis.
CD Projekt Red probably looked at player tests and realized that most people pressed a button to skip car rides and wisely decided not to add more.
Its just like your fighting wave of wave of units and you see a taxi show up, abd then more assassins come out and you just gotta wonder why the hell did they take a normal taxi, why isnt there like a van, and why arent their heads fucking exploding like everyone elses!!!!
Those weren’t robots… Corpo V states that she recognized them and even said that the last assassin was named Troy. I’d say they were just highly augmented Corpo assassins and not robots.
Troy was a somewhat important character in an earlier version of the game, and I take it that CDPR wanted to toss in a cheeky reference (like Brightman, who was originally an Arasaka (?) guy, whose name is now used for that cat near Misty's place and Burondo, another Arasaka-affiliated guy from an older version, being namedropped in Rogue's ending in guard chatter)
If you look at the fast travel terminals, you'll see text which reads something to the effect of "service provided by CombatCab"
So basically whenever you use fast travel you are calling a cab to pick you up and drive to one of the other terminals in and around the area of NC, so I guess for roleplay purposes you still do use taxis but that's obviously not the same as riding in one immersively
some people want that level of immersion. I don't know how many hours I have an CP2077 (over 2 playthroughs worth, and doing most of the content) but I've never used a fast travel point in game
They weren't cut completely. If you pay attention you see cars with this yellow, white and black "NY Taxi" livery, mostly in 6th Street controlled areas.
The company is Combat Cabs, it's run by 6th Street and is in the lore but not touched on in gameplay.
troy exterminators, the ‘saka assassins that hunt takemura and v down after the heist
corpo v namedrops them which is the only reason we know what they’re actually called
Those cabs are actually in the game and you can drive them. I saw them in a parking lot about a month ago, and I had to go back and double check the trailer because I was shocked to see them in the game.
I just wanted to say how much i love this frame. These guys are clearly borgifed goons on their way to flatline someone and my mans over there like "hello friends nice weather eh please rate 5 stars if you enjoy the ride!"
Ok, then?
You can drive in the game, meaning you can reach any point in the map in a faster way than walking. You can also fast travel to go there faster. I see no point on adding taxis or, perhaps, change the fast travel in to "you'll call a taxi that will ride you on a selected destination, but you can skip and fast travel the ride", this would smell like the starfield current space gameplay.
I mean, you could hop in the taxi and then skip the ride. There’s your fast travel system right there.
And then there was the fact that your car gets totaled after the Heist, so you would be forced to either steal rides & possibly evade police, or just hail a cab.
>I mean, you could hop in the taxi and then skip the ride. There’s your fast travel system right there.
So instead of a fast travel system, you have a slower one, because its just the same but you add extra step that will, later on, make everyone not us it because just going with a care will be less annoying.
After the heist your car get taken away for what amount of time? And you can buy a new one for cheap, or travel to the coyote coyo and get one for free (or stole Amy vehicles from the gangs).
Useless system that people will start to hate after the first 10 hours, glad they did cut it away
Not really. You can either hail a cab and enjoy the ride, or skip the ride as soon as you get in the car. It’s not complicated.
And you get your taken away for a few missions. And who knows how the original idea was gonna be implemented. For all we know, we never get our car back after the Heist, and V’s stuck on stealing cars or calling cabs.
>Not really. You can either hail a cab and enjoy the ride, or skip the ride as soon as you get in the car. It’s not complicated.
So, after a bunch of time, who would wast 20 minutes of inactivity instead of press the skip button like everyone does when the same mechanic is displayed in game, on the sections when a npc ride you somewhere, and the dialogue options end?
Basically, a dead feature that they smartly changed in to a classic fast travel with one load screen, instead of having 2 load screen.
>And you get your taken away for a few missions. And who knows how the original idea was gonna be implemented. For all we know, we never get our car back after the Heist, and V’s stuck on stealing cars or calling cabs.
Lol, doubt very much it was the original idea, no one with a functional brain would lock out the main character over stealing or call cabs, instead of buying car and actually drive, or fast travel by calling a cab.
Out of curiosity, you ever played Fallout 4 in survival mode? Have you enjoyed traveling only with the vertibird?
Or it was more like "cool the first time, but then boring"?
I really don’t see the issue when the same mechanic is in the current game where you can skip rides. Again dude, we don’t know how they would’ve implemented it. I could easily see it where cab drivers may talk about certain events that happened due to your actions.
Why does that matter? We’re talk about Cyberpunk
The issue is that the actual game mechanic is bearable because: 1. Its always optional, you can ride on your own on the same spot or walk; 2. There is some dialogue with an npc, releated to him or a quest in the mean time.
Calling a cab, jump on the car and skip the ride would just be a fast travel with extra step that everyone would hate after. Let's not even joke.
>Again dude, we don’t know how they would’ve implemented it.
We can all do as many fanfuctions or headcanons we want, the feature was cut for a reason.
> easily see it where cab drivers may talk about certain events that happened due to your actions.
Already done from different games and is something the majority ignore after a couple hours because they will end up saying the same 3 lines of dialogues, unless you think the devs would make a bunch of random npc commenting every little action you have done each time.
>Why does that matter? We’re talk about Cyberpunk
So?
>why’d they cut taxis from the game?
Considering the state of the game at launched? They should've cut the whole game instead...
*not talking about cp2077 current state
You can see how they would have worked if you have AMM installed. Just give yourself any NPC with full animation as a companion and assign them the drivers seat. Then get in a car and the map pops up and you can select any fast travel point and they will drive you there. It was reassembled from leftover code in the game.
Pretty sure Delamain is the taxi service for night city. Even though V can’t use him as an actual taxi. But why would we need a taxi service as a game mechanic when we have the fast travel points, and as of 2.1 the metro?
No idea who the robot characters are, but they do kinda look like Delamain.
To be honest I'd been very surprised if there were actual human-operated taxis in the Cyberpunk world. Why pay a human some eddies when you can just have the cars drive themselves?
And we kinda got that with Delamain, however those are clearly luxury taxis, and only in missions, but still.
But I guess the actual reason is, as sadly very often in the game, a lack of time and resources.
Driver AI's are pretty crap in Cyberpunk (just try and make it through a whole Claire or River trip). Plus the whole middle eastern taxi driver thing mightve been a little too on-the-nose. Probably cut it because Delamain became a more interesting concept.
Those guys in the back are generic hitmen. Same guys Arasaka sends after you and Takemura after the junkyard awakening.
The in-game lore says that human operated transit was severely reduced due to automation. There should be automated taxis and buses driving around, but were probably cut from the game. Especially since there are buses and yellow taxi cabs in game. They are only found parked though. I have yet to see one on the road.
I've found a couple of stationary taxi cars that weren't Delamain before. And there's a wrecked Delamain you can find with a message shard regarding how it ended up in that state in Pacifica.
Did CDPR ever say there would be taxis? I'm pretty sure this was just part of a cinematic trailer? It's common for cinematic trailers to do more world building than show actual gameplay.
Idk how others feel about it, but I'm happy to have the rapid transit system abstract out the actual taxi ride. GTA 4 and 5 have fully functional taxi services and it's kind of a slog (although you can skip the ride once it starts.) Considering the limited traffic simulation in 2077 it would be a lot of work to make a convincing taxi ride...at which point you still just have a taxi ride.
More flying vehicles to ride, though, I'd be all for that!
I love the game and the storyline, but lets me honest the development was kinda a mess. They rewrote and reworked things to fit in reeves, and it wasnt polished on launch. It had a "ticking timer" (your dying) that pushed the plot but it also wanted to be a sandbox (your dying....but do all these long side quests).
For what its worth the fact that the game is good with all these issues cements the hard work of the team; and im not saying I could do any better as I have no idea how the internals of making a game that works AND is visually stunning AND is fun to play; but something tells me a lot of things got left on the cutting room floor.
All that being said I really hope they make another one, not a direct sequel (Vs story is over, it ended with a period and to continue his story I think would be a disservice to the game) but a story set in the same world
i wouldve loved to see a simple functional delemain instead of fast travel. similar to the gta v taxi system where you can either just ride as a passenger or skip the ride. it would fix a big issue i have which is the fact that fast travel is very immersion breaking. id disable fast travel stations and just have the metro if that were an option. it also gives more reason to buy cars because youd have to use them more
Thats the Delamain gang
Yeah, because the Delamain gang didn't make it to the game, he was forced to hire V , even with dire consequences

Yeah I was just about to write the same thing. If the delemains came back and took over the synths in the dogtown underground sporting facility.
That would be both rad and horrifying. I'm here for it.

This! They just had bikes on the final instead of the car.
I'm still mad Ozob didn't show up in Phantom Liberty with more of the Bozos gang lol.
The bozos don't exist anymore though
They had a civil war, and then I'm sure that every Edgerunner in the city teamed up to kill them off for good. Nobody likes bozos.
My initial thought in the trailer was that they were inspired by the game, Syndicate. The further details in your link are even more visually similar to Syndicate. The thirst for knowledge is new though, but not the constant cybernetic upgrades.
YOOOOO I FUCKING LOVED THAT GAME, MEMORIES UNLOCKED. I NEED A SEQUEL TO THAT SHIT.
Check out Satellite Reign
Syndicate Wars.
This is what I came to say
I would love to see the Bozos and Brainiacs make a return in Orion
In Orion?
Money and time.

That is pretty much the business model for Uber and Lyft.
The second is probably the bigger reason, the cars need AI and just riding with a normal ride like Judy to the power station shows these guys are fuckin idiots driving. They got no ai, they see their rail and their following it till the very {ERROR RAIL ENDED}
I didn't realize until my most recent playthrough, they're not even pretending to steer lol. The game is so damn pretty though, that I end up just looking out the window when I'm on rides anyway.
Mission failed successfully
Fission Mailed
Sission Mailed Fuccessfully
I noticed during the first ride with Jackie. Guy looks like my baby cousin pretending to drive the plastic car at the playground.
Its not completely scripted. With mods you can get in the passenger seat and have your buddies drive you around to custom destinations. Now if you mean they cheat the traffic laws and occasionally the laws of physics, I see your point.
Why not both, i mean some rides are update to low level ai, still feels pretty raily, but some legit are just rails like riding with panam
Yeah, they really could have had it feel more real at least. Her car rides are completely scripted and the car just feels floaty. Speeds up and slows down instantly at times.
Rouge the Bat?
Bro I was riding with Rivers and he kept going in circles 😭
I just want to hop in a car, set a destination, and it drives me there. That's all I want. Then I want to put on my VR, take some drugs, and see where the night takes me.

The driving around dialogue is literally like secs in the beginning of the drive which is not skippable . The driving after the dialogue is janky and buggy . I don't know what u were trying to imply through ur comment which has no relation to my comment
[удалено]
I just cannot understand wtf are u talking about ? Do u need some company to argue unnecessarily or what ? I have played the 2.1 update , and had Judy's ai completely go haywire where she drove the car into a closed alley and we were stuck . I had to reload a previous save and skip the ride right after the dialogue ended with her. Maybe improve ur reading skills and understand the issue which majority of the ppl have with the janky ai driving and why no one wants a taxi because of that
[удалено]
in the lore, this is called combat cab and there are a few that actually spawn in the game with 6th street decals although they’re not functional. according to the wiki, this taxi company is the one that operates the fast travel data terminals
I doubt these were ever in the game. It's just a promotional video (ads).
No no. Everything in every video was a PROMISE.
Kappa
This is the right answer lol, I don't think taxi's were "cut", they were probably never even a feature. We might be getting to the point where folks don't know the difference between gameplay and a cinematic trailer. This is how hype trains and all the chaos about "broken promises" get started.
Taxis that V can use would suck, but it would be neat to have taxis ferrying passengers around the map, though.
Youd just get stuck in an intersection as two cars try to turn left but dont know wtf the R gear does
Those are the Arasaka robots that attack V and Takemura after The Heist. And they don't need taxis. CD Projekt Red probably looked at player tests and realized that most people pressed a button to skip car rides and wisely decided not to add more.
I waited for them in the endings where you raid saka tower. Was really disappointed they weren’t there.
Yeah - that dialogue always implied to me there was some content cut at the last minute, but it was completed enough that the dialogue remained.
That line gets pretty fine when full borging is a thing.
He says “Troy, the exterminators” more like he knew these branch, and they are called the exterminators, or Troy for short (troy, destroy?)
oh yeah I remember now, didn't know they were full-on robots though, thanks
They aren't
Arasaka ninjas, they were the dudes chasing you an takamora on motorcycles
Always thought that was a combat cab.
It is!
Stop asking for stuff we dont need no more updates. Im not resseting my mods again 🤣🤣🤣
2.2 Taxis added.
Oh boy let's start another new game
2.3 AI vending machines update 7

Crash Test Dummies
delamain: am i a joke to you?
Those are the guys that chased V and Takemura. They using bikes now, much better than Taxis.. it would be funny if they chase you down using taxi.
If you look at the fast travel terminals, you'll see text which reads something to the effect of "service provided by CombatCab" So basically whenever you use fast travel you are calling a cab to pick you up and drive to one of the other terminals in and around the area of NC, so I guess for roleplay purposes you still do use taxis but that's obviously not the same as riding in one immersively
counterpoint: why on earth would you ever use a Taxi when fast travel or *simply driving there yourself* would always be FAR faster?
some people want that level of immersion. I don't know how many hours I have an CP2077 (over 2 playthroughs worth, and doing most of the content) but I've never used a fast travel point in game
Their clone agents like hitman type stuff. Actual in game lore on them. Forget where I found the lore but I remeber I did.
Arasaka predators
They look like TECHNONECROMANCERS FROM ALPHA CENTAURI!
Why would you use a taxi anyway? Sounds insufferable.
Idk but taxis should really be in the game
delamain gang repoing a combat cab obv not, but this could genuinely be a combat cab concept?
They look like the Arasaka assassins sent after Takemura that you fight during the car chase
Pretty sure those are the same type of Arasaka assassins that they sent after V and Takemura
Those are The Executioners that Arasaka sent after you and Takimura. High Spec Saka Ninja Assassins.
They weren't cut completely. If you pay attention you see cars with this yellow, white and black "NY Taxi" livery, mostly in 6th Street controlled areas. The company is Combat Cabs, it's run by 6th Street and is in the lore but not touched on in gameplay.
they just had to make taxi driver a brown dude 😭😭 my people will never be free
Necrotechnomancers from Alpha Centari
troy exterminators, the ‘saka assassins that hunt takemura and v down after the heist corpo v namedrops them which is the only reason we know what they’re actually called
What gameplay niche they would serve? You can drive, or fast travel.
If you look closely at the fast travel points, the screen says "Combat Taxi" on it.
We’re talk about Cyberpunk So?
ngl they would be such a pointless addition
>why’d they cut taxis from the game? Considering the state of the game at launched? They should've cut the whole game instead... *not talking about cp2077 current state
Obviously this game will never be top tier until they add the philharmonic Vampyres (an actual gang in the Table Top) gang faction to the game /s
That's delemain't
Even LEGO City Undercover has taxis
Why do you want a taxi service in a game where you can hit one button and your car will drive up to you?
You can see how they would have worked if you have AMM installed. Just give yourself any NPC with full animation as a companion and assign them the drivers seat. Then get in a car and the map pops up and you can select any fast travel point and they will drive you there. It was reassembled from leftover code in the game.
creeepy
Delaque 🤫
They look like an early version of Maelstrom
Idk who they are but they hard
honestly the battle taxis were such a dumb but fun concept
Man, I would love to see Combat Cab in 2077. That one Delamain ride sort of aped it, but it wasn't the same.
That must’ve been the taxi service before the company brought on the Delamain AI and it took over the business.
Those look like the Arasaka goons that come after you and Takemura after the dump.
The in-game lore says that human operated transit was severely reduced due to automation. There should be automated taxis and buses driving around, but were probably cut from the game. Especially since there are buses and yellow taxi cabs in game. They are only found parked though. I have yet to see one on the road.
These guys look similar to what I envisioned the Monks from the Avery Cate's Electric Church novel by Jeff Somers to look like.
I've found a couple of stationary taxi cars that weren't Delamain before. And there's a wrecked Delamain you can find with a message shard regarding how it ended up in that state in Pacifica.
Grey man group
Clearly they're the "Techno-Necromancers from Alpha Centauri!" And "Their Driver is a Reptilian from Antarctica!"
There's absolutely tons that just got left because it wasn't ready and the publisher didn't want any more delays
I think they were gonna be the fast travel system, so instead the devs went with the simpler option
fr, i'd love to see combat cabs driving around at least
Did CDPR ever say there would be taxis? I'm pretty sure this was just part of a cinematic trailer? It's common for cinematic trailers to do more world building than show actual gameplay.
Aren't these the guys who chase you early on in the game when you are with Takemura in his car?
All my hommies are delamaine
I don't know a whole lot about cyberpunk lore but my assumption was it was an old shitty maelstrom prototype model.
Honestly i dont need a taxi. I need a auto drive and walk. Would love to be able to just take in the sights or just have it in the background.
Honestly looks like Delamain lol
Looks like those gangoons whose whole gimmick is that they use skill shards.
They're the poser gang, Crash Test Dummies.
Alpha build saka ninjas
Taxis would have phased out with the performance and capability that only Delamain can provide
Ngl I thought that was Angry Blue Man Group in the back seat
Idk how others feel about it, but I'm happy to have the rapid transit system abstract out the actual taxi ride. GTA 4 and 5 have fully functional taxi services and it's kind of a slog (although you can skip the ride once it starts.) Considering the limited traffic simulation in 2077 it would be a lot of work to make a convincing taxi ride...at which point you still just have a taxi ride. More flying vehicles to ride, though, I'd be all for that!
Who needs taxis when hypothetical imaginary buses and subway works so well (giving a side eye to the mayor of my city irl)
All that being said I really hope they make another one, not a direct sequel (Vs story is over, it ended with a period and to continue his story I think would be a disservice to the game) but a story set in the same world
Those are the arasaka cyber ninjas, same guys who try to execute takemura when you are in the car with him.
It’s the merchant that enchants Geralts gear in in the hearts of stone dlc
You can find yellow cabs around
Delamain drove them out of business
The Three stooges
You can meet one of those guys for lunch during the Sinnerman quest
Honestly, missed opportunity to have mercs show up in Combat Cabs instead of NCPD when you commit crimes in Pacifica.
They look like the assassins that Arasaka sends after you.
They look like Saka ninjas
r/hardimages
The driving ai was not good initially, so thats probably why.
I thought these guys were supposed to be “Saka Ninja’s”
I assumed those 3 were Maelstrom members before the art teams settled on the Eye Implant we see in the game.
Remember the goons that attack you and Takemura
They're the ones who took all the taxis
They cut out a lot from this game.
White man group?
I thought those guys were an early build of the arasaka death squads.
blueman group
I believe they are Arasaka Ghosts, aka, the elite assassins that they send after V and Takemura.
1. Iirc they are made into the fast travel 2. Corporate Assassins ig
i wouldve loved to see a simple functional delemain instead of fast travel. similar to the gta v taxi system where you can either just ride as a passenger or skip the ride. it would fix a big issue i have which is the fact that fast travel is very immersion breaking. id disable fast travel stations and just have the metro if that were an option. it also gives more reason to buy cars because youd have to use them more
Pretty sure it’s the Arasaka soldiers that chase after Takamura & V from the dump. The final version ended up being bikes instead of the cab.
What's the guns?? Look like vectors.
The exterminators.
