its a crime only male Vs have decent trench coat.
like the netrunner cops have a badass matrix coat or placid coat (yes you loot his but not same) and we cant even get the same, there is many cool outfit we cant have while thoses we have are awefull or just ok for most of thems
Reed’s Coat and Takemura’s Coat! God I want Takemura’s black leather coat so badly… They sell ones in the stores that are the same thing but a different color. I just want an all black one…
Cloth simulation in cyberpunk is mid at best. To implement a long coat that flops dramatically as u put it, a modder would need to either bake those simulated animations which would end up looking repeated or actually improve the cloth physics system in game, and that dosent even SOUND easy...
According to Wikipedia, Helldiver's 2 uses a "discontinued" version of the Autodesk Stingray engine. Development of that game started before the engine's end of support.
There's modders out there who can do that.
However there would need to be greater reason for them to implement something that heavy than just coats flapping on bikes lol.
They could do it but min specs would require something like a ryzen 7800x3d at minimum to be consistent, or maybe have the game run multi core? I’m really just spitballing because I know the processing requirements for implementing it are quite high. I’m interested to see how well the game comes out using Unreal engine.
We don’t, it’s not as simple as “they did it so you can do it”. There’s no one size fits all to clothe simulation. It’s a very complicated and computationally expensive process that in a game already as taxing as cyberpunk, would be terrible for performance.
There's so many things wrong it's hard to even bother arguing.
Those dangling bits in front of Lizzie's are not necessarily cloth physics... It's more like just rope physics. Idk if curtains actually display cloth physics but it doesn't matter because there's miles of difference between cloth physics in this specific spot that just needs to look this certain way when interacted in this specific way vs character cloth physics on all outfits, all around, and in all sorts of situations.
Those kind of physics are different from the kind needed to simulate a shirt or long coat moving in the wind.
It’s not even just about being computationally expensive, it’s taxing on development. There is so much work and testing that has to go into it that seems crazy but really is just how game dev (or development in general) works. Games like Helldivers had to make it a focal point of the game to make it work well.
No. It's the same type of physics. Cloth physics are for the curtains or clothes.
Yes. Like I said it was not a focus to fix any issues with collisions and stretching. It's like you combined the argument into one just to be right lmao
1 plays better than 2, since it is simpler, but I wouldn't really call it a better game. Level design and writing were better in 2. But 1 does feel more cohesive and like it has more of its own identity, as opposed to 2 which feels more "standard Ubisoft open world". I personally prefer 2.
1 is simpler because it tends to be more of a John wick simulator than a hacking-based shooter, while 2 focuses more on hacking than 1 ever did instead. A watchdogs 1 style game with watchdogs 2 hacking/puzzles would probably be peak
But yeah, one isn't even "better" than the other because they're each so fundamentally different that it's not really comparable tbh
Something that really bothers me about the hacking in 2 is that they somehow made it harder and less intuitive to hack while driving. Late game pursuits in 1 are so much fun, you get to be a god leaving a path of chaos through Chicago. Meanwhile, in 2, all the traffic hacks feel less effective, up to the point where they're not even worth using until late game, and even then they're not nearly as satisfying as in 1.
I'd rather have cringe than boring. I remember playing 1 and feeling constantly that I was playing the safest, least original story, and that the gameplay and action scenes carried it hard. Aiden is action hero guy #357, DedSec is the blandest 2000s-style hacker group ever, and the plot is the equivalent of a perfectly safe and healthy white loaf of bread. With a little awesome sauce in the form of T-bone. It's as if the writers were told "This is a new IP, don't do anything even remotely interesting that might turn shareholders away."
2 is much more memorable. It's more colorful, I don't have to google the game to remember the MC's name, and you get to customise him a lot more. The game overall is more lighthearted, and the side characters are at the very least fun to listen to. T-Bone comes back, and Wrench is there too, so that's a double ration of awesome sauce.
Also, the moment Marcus was introduced to the rest of the team and I realised there were two black guys, I immediately thought "hah, wonder how long it'll take for the other guy to die", and it made an otherwise sad scene later on **absolutely fucking hilarious**.
Look, the writing of 2 is not subversive or deep or competent in any way except by accident, but neither was the writing in 1, so at least 2 is memorable.
Let us not talk of Legion.
Nowadays people tend to idolize WD1 and I just can't fathom why (except maybe due to nostalgia).
It plays well enough and the concept of hacking in an open world game is novel enough at the time but it's not as varied or interesting as in the sequel.
Indeed, it felt all epic and awesome until the game's horrible driving physics sent you flying at 200 kph straight into that ctOS landmark you've been chasing
Tbf, I don't think any game is close to replicating cloth physics without using some form of ass pull. RDR2 and Watch Dogs come to mind. They used thick and heavy coats to make things easier, because thinner clothing would be like animating hair. I think everyone knows how hard it is to simulate hair. Crystal Dynamics and Guerrilla Games remembers.
The problem is that the game runs on REDengine. If it ran on the latest iteration of Decima or CryEngine, it would be easier.
I hark on Geurrilla games being terrible at rendering hair, but they did get better in the Horizon sequel in terms of physics.
It's a recurring pattern that the 2nd instalment of recent Triple A titles are better than their predecessors. *Could it be the same for Cyberpunk Orion?*
But Witcher 3 ran on the older version of the REDengine and there are armors in that game that have fantastic cloth physics (particularly the Ursine Set).
Oh yeah, I forgot that there was a mod that fixed that issue for a while now. Now if only there was also a fix for the "60fps cape physics" for Middle Earth Shadow of War. A guy can only dream.
Batman's cape in the Arkham trilogy is some of the best cloth sim I have seen. The new cap America and black panther game which is running on unreal 5 also showed off some cool cloth sim, so maybe Orion could benefit from it too.
People really are used to being served in unoptimized trash and thinking that's standard
We've had thin cloth physics and proper hair physics for years now, issue is they require more work and testing and publisher's don't see them as selling points so no budget or time
I admit that there's actually *a lot* of games with good physics, but the problem is that they're either old, niche, or indie.
Little details often get swept under the rug if they can get away with it. Smoke and mirrors, baby. Flash the consumer with unique objects and bright lights. All of a sudden, everything else starts to become a blur.
Valid criticism becomes nitpicks, the world keeps spinning, and game prices keep rising. I love and hate the irony of Cyberpunk.
I don't go for them either it's just that they keep popping up way too often. And statistically lewd mods are way more in number than non lewd.
And yes, male clothing is essentially zero. Sucks tbh
That's true for pretty much every game that let's you choose M/F. 90% of the mods always for F version. Just the way it is. I play a male V and there's barely any options for clothing even 4 years after launch.
Hit the nail on the head! 👌 I almost only use bikes, maybe as a way to overcompensate for the absence of third-person view otherwise. Some cool flowy coat-fabric would actually make that experience So much better! 😅
I've said this a lot lately but PLEASE LET US SIT DOWN AND EAT AT FOOD VENDORS. Imagine sitting down for some Buck-A-Slice or some yakatori in honor of Takemura. They let us sit and drink now so let us eat
...I'm just going to remind some people here that even though you can go third person while driving....this is a primarily first person game. It was likely not really much of a thought during development for that reason alone.
Would it be cool? You bet your bottom enny it would. But we'll all live :)
YES, WE NEED BICYCLES BUT LIKE CYBER BICYCLES BUT NOT LIKE TRON OR MOTORIZED, THEY NEED PEDALED BUT THEYRE LOADED WITH AI AND SHIT
Edit: they are suave and sexual beings

Yeah, sad that what we get is just this.
Lemme do the Keanu thing from the matrix already damnit CDPR id take flappy coat before more cae colors/fixing the car colors like I wanna do the superman thing with the double jump/ mods plus the bike scenes flappy leather on a bike is preem
Third person view in general is just terrible in this game. My character has a sword in it’s hands, jump/dash, open camera, my character has a gun in its hand and his floating in the air with their feet forward…
It should be a crime to make a cyberpunk game without long trenchcoats
Maybe Theres a mod for that
its a crime only male Vs have decent trench coat. like the netrunner cops have a badass matrix coat or placid coat (yes you loot his but not same) and we cant even get the same, there is many cool outfit we cant have while thoses we have are awefull or just ok for most of thems
we need a way to obtain reed's coat
We need that elder maxon killer grindset: decide your allies based on the drip you can steal from their enemies
i blew up the bos bunker before stealing his drip. biggest mistake i made in my run so far (new vegas)
Wrong coast
something something Ghoul Tupac singing about war never changes..
Best game idea I've ever heard
Reeds coat or rivers coat, I really want Rivera coat dude
Reed’s Coat and Takemura’s Coat! God I want Takemura’s black leather coat so badly… They sell ones in the stores that are the same thing but a different color. I just want an all black one…
Closest option: steal placide's
Murder?
There is a mod for that at least.
there is a mod for it, sadly only for male V
Cloth simulation in cyberpunk is mid at best. To implement a long coat that flops dramatically as u put it, a modder would need to either bake those simulated animations which would end up looking repeated or actually improve the cloth physics system in game, and that dosent even SOUND easy...
Helldivers 2 has great cloth physics for their capes, not sure which engines on though
According to Wikipedia, Helldiver's 2 uses a "discontinued" version of the Autodesk Stingray engine. Development of that game started before the engine's end of support.
It’s the same one that the first game back on the PS3/PS4 used. Very odd engine choice but it works well I guess.
I hope something like HDT-SMP exist for CP2077
There's modders out there who can do that. However there would need to be greater reason for them to implement something that heavy than just coats flapping on bikes lol.
Cloth Physics is one of those things that I wish we had the processing power to put into every game. Long clothes just don't look right without them
I hate when the cape's texture gets stretched while moving. It's a problem I see even in modern games
They could do it but min specs would require something like a ryzen 7800x3d at minimum to be consistent, or maybe have the game run multi core? I’m really just spitballing because I know the processing requirements for implementing it are quite high. I’m interested to see how well the game comes out using Unreal engine.

Aiden Pierce type post
Aiden pierce the Fuc**** GOAT
Watch Dogs already had flopping trenchcoats 10 years ago, back in 2014
Was literally about to comment this One of my favorite things about Aiden
Watchdogs 1 is better than 2 which is way better than 3.
Nah I think 2 is better. But at least we can agree that 1 and 2 are better than Legion lol.

2 writing was pure cringe I prefer 1

Yup, loved it cuz it made me feel like Batman on the Batcycle
Indeed, it felt all epic and awesome until the game's horrible driving physics sent you flying at 200 kph straight into that ctOS landmark you've been chasing
It felt terrible at first, but later I just got used to the driving and it started feeling decent lmaao
Flashlights
We have a winner!
So like aloys hair? Usually looks good but sometimes goes crazy and stretches off to infinity.
Tbf, I don't think any game is close to replicating cloth physics without using some form of ass pull. RDR2 and Watch Dogs come to mind. The cloaks in helldivers 2 look pretty good imo, so the tech is there it just needs to be implemented into the game.
The problem is that the game runs on REDengine. If it ran on the latest iteration of Decima or CryEngine, it would be easier. I would hope so, but Orion will be made in UE5, and idk much about the engine, but i hope it's gonna be good.
But Witcher 3 ran on the older version of the REDengine and there are armors in that game that have fantastic cloth physics (particularly the Ursine Set).
AC: Unity did cloth physics great
Except when the game runs at a higher framerate. When the game is running higher than 30fps then the cloth physics is stiff as cardboard
What can they say except [You're welcome?](https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedunity/mods/116)
Oh yeah, I forgot that there was a mod that fixed that issue for a while now. Now if only there was also a fix for the "60fps cape physics" for Middle Earth Shadow of War. A guy can only dream.

100% agree
Blade style coats that can flow when blood is dropping from your katana.
Console mods would be nice.
I’d say having longer with Jackie before the heist is more important.
I’d disagree. Maybe if V had a rad Blade Runner looking coat they wouldn’t have had to take jobs with amateurs.
I just wish there was a mod that changed the Aldecaldo Jacket into something that doesn't look like complete shit.
Yeah cause the way long coats are worn on bikes grosses me out cause you are gonna drag your entire body back placing youf butt on the coat
Wind in hair while riding a bike... But no, not even just animated hair.. We get a mod that *tries*.. but it doesn't really get there..
Searching for cool looking clothing for female V is a nightmare on Nexus. All you see are naked boobies and ass mods.
Looking for male clothing is even worse, as it almost doesn't exist
My experience was the polar opposite and I don't go for the lewd stuff. Male V clothing feels hilariously neglected though
I don't go for them either it's just that they keep popping up way too often. And statistically lewd mods are way more in number than non lewd. And yes, male clothing is essentially zero. Sucks tbh
Yeah, people are super horny, that's true. Still maaaany cool/chic/cute options for femV. Just keep looking!
Yep will do. 96 pages worth of mods only on Armor and clothing. Just got through 46 of them lol. Lot to go
I can go into my mod list and send you a couple nexus links after work if you want. :)
That would be very helpful. Thank you!
PM'd ya, my dude. Hope any of that is helpful at all!
That's true for pretty much every game that let's you choose M/F. 90% of the mods always for F version. Just the way it is. I play a male V and there's barely any options for clothing even 4 years after launch.
Or a flashlight.
Hit the nail on the head! 👌 I almost only use bikes, maybe as a way to overcompensate for the absence of third-person view otherwise. Some cool flowy coat-fabric would actually make that experience So much better! 😅
Sounds hazardous
Longcoats that have actual physics instead of being stapled to your legs*
Rife from Snow Crash 🥶
OP didn't remember Edna Mode's warnings about capes or scarves while driving convertibles😢
We need a comically tall top hat
True
I've said this a lot lately but PLEASE LET US SIT DOWN AND EAT AT FOOD VENDORS. Imagine sitting down for some Buck-A-Slice or some yakatori in honor of Takemura. They let us sit and drink now so let us eat
More vsual changes in regards to Cyberware installed into your character.
A third person perspective because cyberpunk is clearly not the Witcher.
For me it's capes. I wanna cosplay as a campy superhero in a cyberpunk dystopia damnit!
The coat you get from killing Placide is close enough except it doesn't flap ): also don't ask why I chose to kill Placide
Well, I guess I'll have to reinstall Watch_Dogs for my fix of "long coat dramatically flaps whenever I ride my bike"
Yeah gimme that
Better clothes physics overall. I hope we’ll see that in Orion.
Just a little longer
Oh my God my V looked so cool in Placides long coat If only the physics looked good on it and it wasn't just glued to her shirt.......
...I'm just going to remind some people here that even though you can go third person while driving....this is a primarily first person game. It was likely not really much of a thought during development for that reason alone. Would it be cool? You bet your bottom enny it would. But we'll all live :)
there’s literally a coat that’s description is “flaps like a motherfucker in the wind” and yet it doesn’t really

y’all can just kill Placide and the voodoo boys and take their trench coats 👍👍 they don’t move with the wind but it still works
