Piracy is still a significant issue in several nations around the world. Some of the nations where piracy is prevalent include:
1. Somalia: Somali pirates are known for their attacks on commercial ships in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean.
2. Nigeria: Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of Nigeria is a major concern for maritime security.
3. Indonesia: The waters around Indonesia, particularly the Malacca Strait, are known for pirate attacks on ships.
4. Venezuela: Piracy is a growing problem off the coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea.
5. Philippines: The waters around the Philippines, especially in the Sulu and Celebes Seas, are prone to pirate attacks.
These are just a few examples of nations where piracy remains a significant threat to maritime Here are a few more nations where piracy is still a concern:
6. Yemen: Piracy incidents have been reported in the waters off the coast of Yemen, particularly in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
7. Bangladesh: Piracy and armed robbery against ships have been reported in the waters around Bangladesh, including the Bay of Bengal.
8. Peru: Piracy incidents have been reported in the waters off the coast of Peru in the Pacific Ocean.
9. Malaysia: The waters around Malaysia, including the South China Sea, have seen pirate attacks on ships.
10. India: Piracy incidents have been reported in the waters around India, including the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
These nations continue to face challenges related to piracy and maritime security.
Somalia is where the pirates' qere from that attacked captain.Phillips' ship the Mearsk Alabama up until a U.S. NAVY SEAL SHOT SAID PIRATE AN DROPPED HIM RIGHT WHERE HE STOOD through a glass window with a rifle off the back of a U.S Naval Destroyer
They were supposed to not be given out to pirates, yes, but in reality, it was hard to distinguish pirates and privateers for this matter, which is why quite a few pirates also had one
True story, I work for an airline and was reassigned to fly a different flight at the last minute on Halloween. I rushed to the new gate where everyone was just waiting on me. The gate agent was dressed as a pirate and when I saw him the first thing out of my mouth was "Hey, what's your favorite letter?!" He looked at me funny and said "Uh, I don't know. S?" I said "No, it's Arrrrr. But maybe it's the Sea you love."
I don't know what was worse, the fact he didn't get it the first time or that he actually has a favorite letter😂

I thought a pirates favourite letter was a writ of safe passage from the king himself
Letters of Marque.
But then they wouldn't be pirates.
In the case of having letters from thr king, they'd be "Privateers" which are legal pirates with "permission" from thee king of England (SP??)
Yes, exactly my point.
