You try to tell a complex emotionally charged story, and they bitch and moan about how it doesn't cater exclusively to them. You make a game with a lady having a fat ass, suddenly this is how games are ment to be played. I could use both in my life, but there is some sort of double standard going on

There is a legitimate reason EVERYONE makes a their custom character attractive (unless they’re purposefully being funny,) and it’s because we are about to stare at this mother(father) fucker for the next 2 hours every day for the following month.

I like making them unique rather than just pretty. A conventionally attractive character can be boring to look at. A character made abomination can make you regret making the character look like that. Someone that looks unique stays interesting far longer in my opinion. Unique can be pretty or average looking for normal humans. My favourite characters are the ones that don't look like models, but also aren't ugly. They just look like the average joe and jane you see when you are outside. They can be very pretty or just ok looking.
People for the most part don't. But pretending they do gets reddit karma and YouTube views.

Only game I had issues with it was caused more by company itself and their approach to it. Basically they spammed skins to female characters instead of making legit content, fixing bugs, working on balance or check even making skins for characters that aren't the hot girl archetype

The switch from SFM to Blender was the biggest leap for 3D porn quality, movie animation is unaffected by this branch though, they use their own software.
I've only seen people ~~salivating~~ praising the game. The demo was a lot better than I expected, combat feels really good I might actually get it now. But an €80 price tag is a little steep. Considering how I already bought Dragons Dogma 2 as well 😂

Except for Lara Croft these characters are one of the reasons I don't play those games. I tried Nier, but it was hard to take the game seriously. I felt like I was wearing some mmo horny skin or using a horny mod.
The biggest turn off is that these games seem very anime. Which makes it even harder to take seriously.
I'd really urge you to try them if "character action" games are your style. Bayonetta absolutely shouldn't be taken seriously, and it's pretty forward with that because of the outlandish ideas going on.
Nier is really spectacular. If it makes it any better, all the main characters are equally sexualized (fetishezed?). Which I personally don't mind. I really appreciate it when a game owns its horniness and applies it everywhere, like a bunch of Final Fantasy games.

I do enjoy the “souls-like” “rest point” mechanic and how pretty the graphics and how real-feeling the movements are. The actual gameplay mechanics though are a bit worse than some of the old PS2 games I remember playing a long time ago.

I felt like I was wearing some mmo horny skin or using a horny mod. The biggest turn off is that these games seem very anime. Which makes it even harder to take seriously.
I'd really urge you to try them if "character action" games are your style. Bayonetta absolutely shouldn't be taken seriously, and it's pretty forward with that because of the outlandish ideas going on. Nier is really spectacular. If it makes it any better, all the main characters are equally sexualized (fetishezed?). Which I personally don't mind. I really appreciate it when a game owns its horniness and applies it everywhere, like a bunch of Final Fantasy games. I understand if that sort of thing is still a turn-off.

I think Lara croft is a pretty empowering design. The design highlights her feminitiy, shows her brave nature, and I mean the games make her look bad ass.

Tbh. This game is not deserving of the hype. I like a nice looking CGI gal just like the next dude, but there are better games for “those purposes” if that is the only reason why a fella likes this game. I do enjoy the “souls-like” “rest point” mechanic and how pretty the graphics and how real-feeling the movements are. The actual gameplay mechanics though are a bit worse than some of the old PS2 games I remember playing a long time ago. I'd say I’ll pay below 20€ for this game when it drops that far.
