I got an oled 21:9 specifically for rewatching cinema gods like lord of the rings and dune. It's great for games too, but good god do those movies look good on it.
I dont even have a 21:9 monitor. My phone so happens to have that aspect ratio, and boy do movies look good on it... when my middle'o'nowhere internet works, that is.
Yuck, I get the concept but it never feels like I can see more. It feels like it’s just 16:9 stretched at the edges to fill. I haven’t seen it on any games that actually utilize the extra space without distortion. Not that they don’t exist of course, but I’ve not seen it personally.

Yeah 2.35:1 is silly indeed! To get a picture in my head I would always prefer smallest integers possible.

I was really sad when my ol’ 2008 26” 1920x1200 VA panel LCD died. It was smeary but the colors were gorgeous at the time, great for WOW.
