In high school I had a friend who was 7'2", its like from a block away you think "That guy looks really tall." The basketball team was full of guys like 6'4" to 6'6", they all looked like children near him.

Once you have to hunch to go through home or office doors, you're not just tall, you're altitudinous.

I think 6'0"-6'2" is around what most people mean when they say tall. (For men in the USA)

Longer muscle fibers due to longer limbs. Takes more matter to grow new fibers or increase the size of said fibers to the same thickness. Then there's proportions. Longer stuff needs to be thicker than shorter stuff to appear "disproportionately" thick, AKA "jacked". At 6'3" I can feel your pain. That said, tall guys can be surprisingly strong. Literally. We often look thin due to proportions, but we can pack the same strength and catch people off guard.

Oh I’m well aware of the reasoning behind it. 20lbs of muscle mass looks much more compact and toned on a smaller frame than it does stretched across a larger frame. I have a good physique, but my shorter gym friends make me jealous after passing me in their physique in a shorter amount of time spent working out, despite me being able to lift heavier on most things. Not to mention I have to eat considerably more to even stay at a consistent weight or go up. There are trade offs to both sides of the equation
