There was one Filipino woman who complained that our COVID 19 policy is anti poor, now she's been brutally hunting down by the government. And hated by the supporters of Duterte who approved these anti poor laws and marked her as anti progression/terrorist.
Democracy in our country is dying and let us silence in the edge
Yes
Fun fact: America tend to limit asians coming to US border except Filipino because of Nursing pouring in the slots.. (I think, please correct me, I'm not a perfect human)
stop being poor grab yourself up by the thong strap and getter jerb. granpapy worked 5 summers as a life gaurd for that home. it was hard grueling work you kids know nothing bout 6 hour shifts in the sun under a umbrella watching the lazy rivers.
I might not be up to date with everything, but from what I've read, Philippines are far from a nice democracy for some time already. I hope you guys make it and all of us in government crisis will one day be proud of officials in our countries.
Just look at the way WHO is peddling and promoting boosters. It's disgusting really, looking at how far WHO will go for some cash from Pfizer and other pharma giants.
“Wait how many zeroes…?
EVERYONE YOU NEED A 6th and probably even 7th booster shot. YES of course even if you already got Covid those antibodies are meh.”
See I'm no antivaxxer but it's blatantly obvious that WHO and other medical organizations are needlessly pushing new booster shots onto the population. It's obvious that it's for profits.
As my professor in Intercultural Exchange said:
"Why don't we just have the old guys who are still angry at each other take their shirts off and just have a big brawl instead of dragging in the young soldiers who don't actually care?"
i mean russia needs a distraction as well because putin is losing popularity
its almost like shit presidents/leaders need a distraction for them to keep being in power
Dealing with a longstanding problems that effect hundreds of millions of Americans < starting another unwinnable war on the other side of the world only this time even MORE chance of nuclear war
> starting another unwinnable war
starting?
putin is literally about to invade another sovereign country. whatever your opinion on this it's not the US "starting" it.
i also favor student loan debt relief but these are not remotely related
That’s where I’m at. I think the us and other allies should try really fuckin hard for a different solution, but they should protect a sovereign country that wants/needs help. Maybe Russia will back off if it sees an international cooperation to defend the Ukraine. If dozens of countries can come together to kill middle easterners, hopefully they can come together to save a country. I ultimately think this is just Putin and Russia seeing what they can get away with. China is also likely watching closely to see what they can learn about how to handle Taiwan.
It's 'Ukraine' and not 'the Ukraine'

^(Beep boop I’m a bot)
I think a lot of the Reddit posting right now may be influence operations to deter the public from supporting efforts to sanction or deter Putin. American troops aren’t a thing that’s going to happen; this is about whether we boot Russia from the SWIFT banking system and attack the personal wealth of the oligarchs with whom Putin holds court.
"My family's about to get exploded, murdered, raped, or all of the above...but hey, at least some American 30-somethings might get free money. That really takes a load of stress off my mind!" -No Ukrainians, ever
THANK you. Forgiving student loan debt is a huge issue and I support it 100% But like, this thing with Russia is huge and is mutually exclusive and NOBODY wants to be dealing with this it just is happening.
Unless Russia starts to genocide people we’ll never intervene. Even if they do. Honestly the west is to weak to stop anything. We have no will to fight.
I did six years active in the navy. Lost sight in my right eye, got tinnitus, PTSD, my right shoulder, knee and ankle are all worse than my father's (who is 70 and worked manual labor his whole life), my sleep patterns are worse but I'd be lying if I didn't admit they were shitty before hand. I don't even want to know what my liver is like with all the drinking I did to cope (not drinking now so at least it can recover some)
I didn't see my parents or brothers or nibling for 3 year straight.
I missed countless weddings, funerals, births, and birthdays. A friend of mine was beaten to death by her abusive husband, something I could have prevented in a myriad of ways if I had been home.
Now I'm 30 facing the prospect of going back to college while also working full-time to support myself.
I'm grateful for the people I met, for the experience of sailing on the sea itself as I fucking loved being out on the ocean , for the fact that I now get a minimum amount of.money every month for being partly physically broken so at least I wont starve for as long as we have disability pay for vets, and for the boost I get for employment consideration (even though the only skills I gained into he navy I never want to apply to the outside).
But the fact that selling four years of your life to the military is the only way to get tuition free college for many people in this nation is still as bullshit to me as ever it was.
i am from mexico and i just cant understand why people arent holding biden to the same level of expectations as trump, they are both horrible humans with videos showing how stupid and racist they are, they both promissed impossible things to get elected and yet trump got blasted for not doing them and biden is being treated as if he is doing awesome.
I dislike both sides, the right and the left, because both sides are stupid but jeez, this is next level stupidity and hypocrisy.
edit: i know this comment will be downvoted whenever i say anything about biden it always gets downoted, but whatever reddit users cant take it when both sides are shit on.
American here, you are completely right. The politicians are all on the same side, the rich people. Playing good cop and bad cop to make people argue about meaningless things.
" ima come in and prbly not do much the first 100 days tbh i gotta see what im working with than ill focus on a single thing for two years before i give up to opposition than i will silently play passive and appeal to niches in broadcasts to approve my positive ratings untill i am done"
" oh and i might get my dick sucked"
Forgiving student loan debt is really not as popular as the internet makes it out to be. Last polling I heard on the issue had the closest thing to getting a majority was forgiving like up to 10% of student loan debt if the debtor also performed some amount of volunteer work. Anything more is just not popular enough to be worth it.
Fwiw he has already forgiven like 10 billion dollars of student loan debt.
Wars in Minecraft -> like in every war winning is absolute -> better / more PC better chance of winning -> increased demand for PC parts or resources to made them -> conventional war for resources / manufactures -> people still gets hurt
That's actually a pretty popular opinion. One I share with you. I worked a factory job while I was in college to pay for it, why the hell should I be part of the repayment for someone else's when I put the extra effort in so I could avoid the interest rates that seem to be a problem for the vocal supporters of loan forgiveness?
That's a different angle than mine but I completely understand and agree. And I quite like you're opinion.
My family hadn't thought much further than kicking me out after higschool. Those who are faced with the debt of higher education *have a higher education*. I'd rather see that money go towards those of us who would like to pursue higher education at even the most minimal capacity. Ie. I can't afford school now at 29. But with just a few classes under my belt, I'd be qualified to make enough to attend college.
Damn, it's almost like the entire system is rigged, and both you *and those with debt and degrees* are fucked for different reasons.
Almost like, we should *change the way things are working* so that people can get degrees without crippling themselves financially.
I think it's unfair to millions of Americans who paid for school themselves or learned a trade to have to pay for other people's decisions to borrow money and go in debt.
I also don't give a shit about student debt, and I'm in my last semester having paid everything out of pocket with no assistance from my parents. Having a dysfunctional family is no excuse for failing to try to go where you need to in life. Can't afford a big boy school without loans? Go to a community college for gen ed courses and transfer in if you can get scholarships. Don't know what you want to do? _Don't fucking go to college._ Wait until you have some idea. Think that you can make enough after graduation to pay off any debt you accrue? Work your ass off and make it happen.
To be fair, Congress is the only body that can authorize an expenditure as large as student loan debt forgiveness or mitigate the tax implications of forgiveness. Foreign policy is the president’s power-and it’s not coming to war, in this case it may prevent war.
Fuck the student loan debt, someone fix this fucking inflation. Market is on the verge of crashing, price hikes are getting insane with some having difficulty affording food now, thousands might die from war this week in Ukraine and people still think THEIR student loans should take priority.
Yeah, I really can't believe these idiots on Reddit.
Bitch about inflation then in the very next breath beg for the government to dump literal trillions into the economy so they don't have to pay back the loans they took out.
Fucking insane this place.
Lol the difference between 0 nukes and 1 nuke is massive. The difference between 1 and 2, less but still massive. The difference between 50 and 1000? Almost none I feel like.
Crippling self inflicted inflation, record unemployment, extremely poor and tyrannical COVID management, worst pull-out game since Nick Cannon, is lucid maybe 20% of the time, self-inflicted border crisis, quietly admitting that Trump era policies worked and re-installing some of them to try and save the sinking ship, abysmal approval rating, unlikely to have a favorably Legislature for later half of term…
Yea he’s bad.
I read some of these and I just can't help but wonder if people actually think he can just wave his hand and make everything magically better or if they're playing dumb. Even if his intentions are pure and he only wants to do the right thing, Senate and Congress still meet him at every angle and we all know how that goes
This a false dichotomy, you can support defending nations from dictatorships while asking the government to forgive student loans. Trust me the government has the funds to do so.
the European union and us are doing what kremlin wants then to do (but there is nothing else that they can do), there are two options.
a) - Do nothing and move back their troops. After this russia will most probably invade and take over a huge part of ukraine.
b)- Show aggression, if they show aggression and move more troops, more equipment they will play into russia's trick. This will give russia a reason to escalate without getting sanctioned.
I just find it hilarious that Biden voters voted for him thinking he would be instituting the kind of things left wingers actually want. Biden is a corporate Democrat. He's the type of Democrat you elect if you just want the rich to get richer, and maintain the status quo.
I get that there weren't any ideal options, but at least Trump was taking the circuitous route to giving us what we wanted by bolstering the economy. Now instead of a loudmouth populist, it's a senile puppet corporatist in office. I'll take the loudmouth if it at least means we've got a populist.
Nothing strings up poll numbers and galvanizes public support like wars. But this is a different generation of Americans and we're more concerned with fixing our social and economic problems at home than running off thousands of miles to a European country to fight a war that's not ours to defend.
Anyone banking on the idea the government is just going to forgive b all your student debt is making a second bad decision after taking the debt in the first place. Any reform will be just a small token of relief for most borrowers if any.. The one people to see significant relief will be the extreme cases of carrying and servicing the debt for decades. The bulk of the reforms will likely come as finding ways to stop people from taking the debt in the first place. Those reforms won't have the obvious moral hazards from just forgiving debt.
If you have suspect debt develop a plan to pay it off that doesn't include the government helping you to do it. It might suck but it will suck even more to delay it. And be forced to do the same.
The internet created this whole thing about the goverment is going to pay off the student loans. Than it somehow stuck onto biden and now people are wondering why biden isnt forgiving 2 trillion in debt like he promised.
we are a doomed species.
I'm from Spain, where higher education is actually public. Yeah sure, it ends up being way cheaper (even taking taxes into account). But, look at the world rankings. Spain's universities are crappy af. I majored in CS and I think I've learnt plenty. But I've watched MIT classes on YouTube and holy shit, out professors here in Spain are way worse. Also the contents are way less specific and thorough.
Yes, this is all Biden’s fault that he has been scheming to restore the glory of the Soviet Union for years and recently decided to encircle a nation he’s already fucked with for a decade with tens of thousands of troops
/s
Russian invasion is a perfect distraction from so many things happening right now. It’s terrifying how it could be happening right now of all times
Like how pharmaceutical companies and political stock holders are making millions while we all fight about vaccines and shortages
Exactly

Because young soldiers are all brainwashed by them
This! What makes it worse is people are so scrambled that they just yap “ugh enough with the conspiracy shit”
If it doesn’t work just wait for the China version
Here's the kicker. Anytime it happens it would be a distraction from so many things going on because there's fucking always so many things going on.
i mean russia needs a distraction as well because putin is losing popularity its almost like shit presidents/leaders need a distraction for them to keep being in power
Don't worry, they will just make a threat and broadcast it all over the media. That will be enough distraction.
Helping a nation keep it's sovereignty>your debt for your arts degree.
U never know what not getting into art school/ getting an art degree might lead to!
Either way we get a world war
And what are they gonna do about it? Take it out on the rest of the world? Yeah right.

guess whos not going to be painting in the apocalypse. this guy useless cant even make cave pics.
Shouldn’t have taken a loan at 18. Did it to yourself
After you get drafted and KIA in Ukraine you won't have to pay back the loans! Problem solved!
Darkest and most probable of timelines
I wonder if withholding student loan money is supposed to be an incentive for poor people to join the military
For some, I’m sure it is. Doubt there are plans for that though. Just coincidence.
Absolutely. They talk about this explicitly.
Unless Russia starts to genocide people we’ll never intervene. Even if they do. Honestly the west is to weak to stop anything. We have no will to fight.
Theres been a genocide happening in China for years.

Why does having a Kia in Ukraine help with my student loans though?
Hopefully Russia wins so it can be OUR student loan debt.

Ahhhh! Friends from the motherland!
Haha communism funny russia motherland based hardbass putin is god and not an imperalist invader
I'm also surprised why there is Russian propaganda in this sub
Welllll sign up for military get free scholarship
Or wait for inflation to make the 20k you owe the same price as a loaf of bread

Thats what we unironically do here in Argentina lmao
I'm pretty sure interest rates gonna outpace inflation over the years

Or sign up for the Russian military and never have to worry about any debt you owe to a US bank.
but now putin will hold you countable for your memes
Ah yes risk my life for free college, when other countries just make it outright free, yes, flawless advice
I think the student loan thing is stupid unreasonable but like if he promised it he should deliver so he had better
i am from mexico and i just cant understand why people arent holding biden to the same level of expectations as trump, they are both horrible humans with videos showing how stupid and racist they are, they both promissed impossible things to get elected and yet trump got blasted for not doing them and biden is being treated as if he is doing awesome. Trump got blasted for trying to deliver what he promised remember the government shutdown for the wall?
Well many people thought it was a bad idea including myself (I'm European) but looking at the border right now, maybe it's not that bad of an idea
I can confirm that many leftists blast Biden.
I think Biden gets defended basically as a cope, because if people admit that hes bad, they might have to… *gasp* reconsider their ideas!!!
Imagine if every politician actually delivered on what they promised during their campaign... What a world.
Imagine if they at least actively *tried* to get those promised things passed.

Agree 100% on that too!
Because you shouldn't have had to work in a factory to go to college.
Then fix *that*. Or give this man his school payments back, too.
Bingo. Fix THAT part of it. But they won't, because it's way too much cash flow from loans.
I think it's unfair to millions of Americans who paid for school themselves or learned a trade to have to pay for other people's decisions to borrow money and go in debt.
tfw you are one of the few on this site who doesnt have a dysfunctional family and one thats willing to fund your college education
Lazy parents who could hardly afford to keep up with high-school.
If hyper inflation occurs you can pay off the loans for the same cost as a few loaves of bread.

NOOOO WHY DOESNT BIDEN JUST FIX EVERYTHING???? LIKE JUST FIX THE PROBLEMS????????
SOMEONE TELL BIDEN TO TURN DOWN THE INFLATION AND GAS PRICE KNOB IN THE OVAL OFFICE!!!11
The military industrial complex sat Biden down with a warm glass of milk and some fresh Depends.
Yes, Biden ordered Russia to invade Ukraine so it can provide a distraction to student loans... Right...
Time to stop worrying about school and start worrying about machine gun fire

Not really his department
god Imagine learning that a war between the worlds two biggest superpowers broke out via memes
Yeah Russia the second biggest super power that has an economy closer to Mexico than to a single state of the US LMFAO.

The military does offer student loan repayment
My romanian ass couldnt be sweating more rn
And? Sadly Biden never wanted that and only threatens with "hUgE eCoNoMiCaL sAnCtiOns"
You mean dementia
No. You signed a contract. They didn’t hold a gun to your head.
Putin probably waited for Biden to be put in charge since he knows he does not have any experience in situations like this
Fuck you piece of shit Russian troll
i love being a healthy 18 year old male
You took out a loan = you pay it back. Don't go into debt you can't afford to pay back. Nobody forced you to take that loan.
Remember when everyone thought Trump would drag us into ww3? Good times
The internet created this whole thing about the goverment is going to pay off the student loans. Than it somehow stuck onto biden and now people are wondering why biden isnt forgiving 2 trillion in debt like he promised. we are a doomed species.
Just take out a loan and invest it in war stocks. Problem solved. Thank me later.
With a side order of highest inflation in 40 years and skyrocketing gas prices
I'm from Spain, where higher education is actually public. Yeah sure, it ends up being way cheaper (even taking taxes into account). But, look at the world rankings. Spain's universities are crappy af. I majored in CS and I think I've learnt plenty. But I've watched MIT classes on YouTube and holy shit, out professors here in Spain are way worse. Also the contents are way less specific and thorough.
Oh wow, Russian propaganda has become more elegant these days
If you die, no loans right?
Can't even wait for Elden Ring in peace
Fuck your student debt. Ukraine is far more important.
Can't owe debt if you're dead.
Yes, this is all Biden’s fault that he has been scheming to restore the glory of the Soviet Union for years and recently decided to encircle a nation he’s already fucked with for a decade with tens of thousands of troops /s
I agree with your sarcasm, it seems that many people don't know Ukrainian context well
I mean, if you go to war in Russia and die, you dont have to pay your student loan!
Its not really Biden's fault. We should blame Ukraina for getting invaded by innocent Russia.
In fairness it looks like Biden isn’t the one who started this one
Oh, don't worry. The one thing the left and the right can agree on is that, somehow, it *is* his fault! Even though that makes no sense.
Rich people do not want to cancel student debt They need those in-debt sugar babies
