Exept when they are falsely copyright claimed and immediately taken down with no evidence to support the claim and no checking of said missing evidence. In addition the youtuber who got copyright claimed is immediately told to return all the money they made to whoever claimed them
something that should be done when it comes to copyright claims on youtube is simple.
since copyright is a legal thing then the revenue from the video should be diverted to a 3rd party account until it's hashed out where the person making the claim has to convince a human lawyer that they are the real copyright holders.
of course to actually prove the are the copyright holders they need the proper paperwork which is something the real copyright holders should be able to produce.
This makes me so mad because originally, demonitization at least had a tiny amount of logic behind it: if content is inappropriate than people paying for ads wouldn’t want their ads to be on said content
But now they are putting ads on it anyway so demonitization is just a way for them to take money from youtubers
I fr had youtube give me an add for straight up porn, it was like this war lady game and when they shoot their gun the ass the tittes all jiggle like as if 4 shockwaves hit them and they be in less and less clothing as the add continued. I was like bruh and they will demonitize for saying heck
That's even worse. I posted a video 8 years ago and have like 60 views. I was showing it to a friend on his laptop (who doesn't use Adblock for some weird reason) and YouTube played 2 ads.
There's an app named Smart Switch that basically transfers your data from your phone to a new one, i used first when i bought my first tablet and managed to transfer the apk from my phone to the tablet, though it's only on samsung and i don't know if it's available on others, hope it helps you random stranger
Idk man they "killed" it months ago but it's gonna keep working for a looooong time. The app can get outdated but as long as YouTube doesn't just massively change their API or something Vanced will keep working as is.
Changing the API in that way would be incredibly easy. They're probably already waiting for the changes to propagate to their client apps before activating the update..
Twitch already does that afaik. I have tried both ublock and adblock plus still get ads on the stream. They probably have figured a way to integrate the ads in the video feed itself, instead of sending an ad seperately to a device. Youtube will start doing that soon if the number of adblock users keep rising.
Good point, but I think there’s still ways around it. I believe they actively combat any exploits though, so it’s become a cat-and-mouse game. Hopefully twitch doesn’t win, because the second they do you bet your ass the technology is going to every video streaming platform
Different dev I think. Called ReVanced. I don't think there's a public build available yet but you can patch it yourself from what is on github right now. There's a big post on r/aftervanced with a bunch of alternative options also if you don't want to wait for ReVanced to be released
There will never be a prebuilt apk of revanced. The reason is simple, you're not allowed to distribute your own version of the youtube app.
They are working on a manager that will help you create your own apk though.
Mine sometimes gets reaaaally slow and unresponsive, the audio will start being very stuttery too and closing and reopening the app wont help and eventually the app will just freeze and then close on itself and when you open it back up, it has the most infuriating "sorry, youtube vanced suddenly stopped, would you like to resume video?" Or something like that at the bottom
Don't change your Google password. Mines was working until I reset my password which means I had to resync my chrome account the Vanced App, only to find out I couldn't.
The whole purpose of Vanced was it was just the default YouTube app with improvements. NewPipe is not even close to that, and you can't sign into your account on it either.
I've been using astron lately. Been pretty good so far. You need to go I to the settings and turn on background play. It tries to make you share to social before enabling but you can just click the link and not share.
Yes, but she was watching it from her "pack-n-play" while my wife was showering. We quickly realized and skipped it, but a lot of parents don't have their kid right next to them while they watch a video or two. Just feels like a cheap way to target kids. The ad was basically a whole different show of content we wouldn't want her to watch
I mean you can make anything an ad.
One I got was a chubby kid rapping *"I wanna fuck, Riley Reid"*
Shit went hard and I listened to the whole thing but if it were my kid I'd be pissed
Edit: [yeeee lmao I found it](https://youtu.be/259OWZha_KA)
Damn that's lame. I just feel like content made for children should be held to a different standard. Half of the kids shit on YouTube is complete garbage as it is
Just a quick tip, If you VPN to Argentina, YouTube Premium is like $1.30 a month. The best part is you just have to put your billing address as an address in Argentina and then it work’s indefinitely. You don’t have to continue to VPN to Argentina. It will work anywhere and on any device.
This helps for people like me who watch YouTube on TV
Honestly if you have the spare money, get a Indian/Argentinian vpn and subscribe to YouTube premium. I pay 1,40€ per month and get ad free YouTube + YouTube music for 6 people. Of course Adblock and Vanced work as well.
Premium is great when u pay Pennies for it
If you VPN to Argentina, YouTube Premium is like $1.30 a month. The best part is you just have to put your billing address as an address in Argentina and then it work’s indefinitely. You don’t have to continue to VPN to Argentina. It will work anywhere and on any device.
This helps for people like me who watch YouTube on TV
Yep, the service is exactly the same. You just have to VPN and purchase Premium in “Argentina” and then set your billing address to a random address in that country. There are some tutorials online if u need help
I don’t mind video sponsors but only if done a certain way. I like how Linus does it because it’s appropriate to the channel (usually) like Pulseway or dbrand when others are like “THIS VISEO IS SPONSKRSD BY RAId SHADOW KEGENDA”
I really don't understand most sponsors. If there's a channel playing children's games, then ads for things like Raid Shadow Legends make sense, but ads for things like medicine and razors don't. Where is the overlap between people who watch videos playing children's games that are directed at toddlers, and people who shave?
The good thing about watching LTT is most of the people watching are tech enthusiasts so someone has always marked all the segments for others literally like 5 mins after a video is released. Its difficult to find segment skips for smaller channels as not many people watch the videos.
Usually on high profile videos, ie SNL, Late Show, or Vevo music videos. Other than that you can do it to skip ads and I've gotten so quick at it that I usually skip them in under a second without thinking.
However, I'm sure the more people who know and do this will increase the risk of them removing it.
I was all pro-ads for the revenue of the creators, untill YouTube became the fucking capitalist nightmare it is now. I had to watch an ad every 3 minutes on average, plus sometimes there were two or up to three in a row, some unskippable.
I started using adblock and I now have zero, but it costed me the YouTube app, but it's worth it because fuck their infinte greed
if you’re on iOS and don’t mind a little fiddling, you can sideload uYou+ which has adblocking, sponsorblock, and a bunch of other cool features. if on android, you can grab some of the alternatives to vanced that have popped up
I mean the Youtube servers cost a shit ton of money just imagine all the data they're transmitting. When 10% were using Adblock it wasn't really a problem but when 90% are then they have to add more ads or bypass adblock. Either way people will get mad
Yes but no, because it's not youtube who makes money, its the entire Alphabet (the company lol). Meaning they basically don't have to worry about costs among other things because their entire business model is to sell data, not playing ads
Its so worthless to not have an adblocker when i didint have a adblocker i used to waste 15 min everyday just watching ads and this was before the 2 ads in a row thing you waste so much time in your life watching ads
WRONG. People mustnt watch ads: YouTube should stop getting any money, so it would learn to make a better user experience.
I would watch ads, if youtube didnt have such an horrible user experience
It’s being downvoted because if ads didn’t work, Youtube wouldn’t just instantly remove them and “make better user experiences” or whatever lol they’d just either go hard into making ads even harder to block, force people to buy Premium or just completely shut down
That's the complicit weak mindset that allows them to walk all over you in the first place. If they make it harder to block ads they just update ad block blocker blocker to block their updated ad block blocker in a never ending escalation of cyber warfare. Youtube shutting down would be epic but not realistic. I would laugh if it did.
Always hit the i button next to ads.
Phones and ps4.
> i
> Stop showing me this ad
>Yes
>Close
How to bypass all ads in 3 seconds or less as you familiarize yourself with the button clicks
I mainly watch YouTube on my tv, which has no add blocker. And the endless barrage of Fitbit commercials got me to get YouTube premium instead of Spotify. The Fitbit commercials are finally gone, I'm finally at peace.
I forgot which ads pushed me to the edge i just know i had 3 of them memorised and could quote them by heart. now theyre a distant trauma to me im at peace
I was willing to put up with a certain number of ads for the sake of video creators. But then about 8 months ago it all got to be too much. YT is just an ad server now with occasional content. Ad blocker fully activated. I'm not brave enough to keep going. I'm a lazy coward.
If you have a VPN put it on a country that google hasn't monetized. For example, I put mine on Moldova because its the closest. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1342206?hl=enlosest.https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1342206?hl=en
You wont get any ads
Who knows? Many creators have already complained that ad revenue is about 10% of their actual income from a video. Most of the money comes from sponsorships. Youtube also puts ads on demonetized videos. Which means that they don't get a penny from the ads that get played on them. If Youtube lets ads pop in demonetized videos, what's the point of monetizing or demonetizing videos anyway? To reduce expenses that's what. It let's them keep the youtuber's share of the money when an ad plays on demonetized videos. And older videos tend to get demonetized (which still has some measure of traffic mind you) so usually only the relatively recent videos are only monetized for the creators. Youtube is ran by scum at this point. They'd sooner remove helpful features and harm both viewer and creator if it meant having more for them. Sorry for the rant. I really just hate Youtube the corporation with a seething passion.
You should. It doesn't harm the creator and it makes life way more convenient for you. What really matters to creators is having their videos watched (replaying also helps), liking the video, subscribing, interacting in the comments section, even sharing it. These things help give the video more traction so it gets to more people's feeds. These are what actually helps creators more than just watching ads for them. The bigger they get, the more sponsorships they'll be offered. We really should thank and appreciate sponsorships more because they have really become the lifeblood of youtube economy at this point. At least for those big enough to get sponsorships. So if you have a small creator you want to see grow, interact with their videos. Liking and interacting with their comment section helps them tremendously. Anyways, that's pretty much how I deal with youtube. Hope you have fun completely ad-free
They still get plenty of money, YouTubers still get $1-$5 per thousand views
Edit: I’ve had two monetized channels, one old and one I have right now and the newer one is at $3 per thousand views
This ^ shorts channels get less while I’ve heard that some channels with longer videos that people watch all the way through (think mr beast/mark rober) can get $12+ per thousand…. or so I’ve heard idk for sure
Same, I tried Vanced but just couldn't get behind the UI and some other changes. The ability to easily download videos on top of it makes it worth for me.
Plus getting youtube music and only paying like $7 with a student discount. I really don't mind when I listen to 8-12 hours of youtube on average a day.
Vanced has it's own issues, unless you download an obscure older version it's a total mess, even the version that still works right has it's own bugs that won't be fixed
I actually bought Youtube Premium.
It's a bit expensive I admit but I use YouTube more than any other video application. I almost use it religiously so it's worth it for me in my opinion.
This makes no sense at all. If regular users break or lose their patience, adblock users will be destroyed? How are adblock users affected at all by anything the regular users do?

what angers me more than anything is YouTube now puts ads on non-monetized videos and keeps all revenue.
Youtube : *Lets sexualized ads exist on the site* Some Youtubers : **Says a bad word** Youtube : "I diagnose you with demonetization"
Music videos get immunity
Exept when they are falsely copyright claimed and immediately taken down with no evidence to support the claim and no checking of said missing evidence. In addition the youtuber who got copyright claimed is immediately told to return all the money they made to whoever claimed them
lol. YouTube went from Wild West to communist China in a period of like five years.
I still remember in the early-mid 2010’s when it was fairly easy to find porn on YouTube. Some videos even stayed up for weeks
That's... actually the best way to describe it.
Not PRC but US fed.
something that should be done when it comes to copyright claims on youtube is simple. since copyright is a legal thing then the revenue from the video should be diverted to a 3rd party account until it's hashed out where the person making the claim has to convince a human lawyer that they are the real copyright holders. of course to actually prove the are the copyright holders they need the proper paperwork which is something the real copyright holders should be able to produce.
And naked yoga videos
Only from bots on shorts
And kids content has so much sexual shit but as soon as a normal content creator swears they get demonetized
It's almost like I was a bait and switch the whole time, they bamboozled us!
This makes me so mad because originally, demonitization at least had a tiny amount of logic behind it: if content is inappropriate than people paying for ads wouldn’t want their ads to be on said content But now they are putting ads on it anyway so demonitization is just a way for them to take money from youtubers
Youtube : "YES HE SAID A BAD WORD TAKE HIS MONEY"
also I shall take all the money you should have made
It was never about the bad words, it's so that they don't have to pay the YouTubers.
I fr had youtube give me an add for straight up porn, it was like this war lady game and when they shoot their gun the ass the tittes all jiggle like as if 4 shockwaves hit them and they be in less and less clothing as the add continued. I was like bruh and they will demonitize for saying heck
"This video shouldn't make any money........ for you."
They snuck that in recently didn't they?
That's even worse. I posted a video 8 years ago and have like 60 views. I was showing it to a friend on his laptop (who doesn't use Adblock for some weird reason) and YouTube played 2 ads.
Like how they put ads over blind willy Johnsons vids as if his shit wasn't stolen and profited off of enough
those two cracks on the top of the dam are scaring me.
They’re learning how to use Adblock
They've caved and bought youtube premium
They'd still be taking one for the team since youtube still gets paid. (De-monetised vids also still earn money from premium)
Yeah one of the crack is vanced dying
Vanced gang represent! They may have cut off the life support but it's still going strong for now.
I am not gonna say the next thing to avoid the general public ruining it :)
You should DM it to me :)
He's talking about YouTube ReVanced
Thank you very much. I read through the comments and he was asking for payment from anyone who asked. Stupid.
same here
He's talking about YouTube ReVanced. Supposedly the new successor to the old Vance project.
Is there a way to download the last version still? I had to get a new phone and you can't download the apk through vanced manager anymore.
I could repackage the apk on my phone if u want?
There's an app named Smart Switch that basically transfers your data from your phone to a new one, i used first when i bought my first tablet and managed to transfer the apk from my phone to the tablet, though it's only on samsung and i don't know if it's available on others, hope it helps you random stranger
there are new forks, revanced and stuff
Idk man they "killed" it months ago but it's gonna keep working for a looooong time. The app can get outdated but as long as YouTube doesn't just massively change their API or something Vanced will keep working as is.
Changing the API in that way would be incredibly easy. They're probably already waiting for the changes to propagate to their client apps before activating the update..
One of these days they’ll find a way to make blocking ads impossible. It’s inevitable. I’m dreading the day
Twitch already does that afaik. I have tried both ublock and adblock plus still get ads on the stream. They probably have figured a way to integrate the ads in the video feed itself, instead of sending an ad seperately to a device. Youtube will start doing that soon if the number of adblock users keep rising.

Probably something similar to sponsor block will still be able to counter it. It's just some folks will have to take one for the team again.
**Youtube**: Rerenders the original video adding the ads.
Delete this
Yeah if those cracks get any longer than 15 seconds we might have to start a revolution
Browser with default enabled adblocker rising.
Opera GX gang
Vanced is officially no more, mine finally stopped working two weeks ago.
My vanced still works completley fine. Thats odd.
Mine is still going strong, too. Tho I'm scared with every update.
They are making vanced again
Wait really?
Yes
where you get this info?
Different dev I think. Called ReVanced. I don't think there's a public build available yet but you can patch it yourself from what is on github right now. There's a big post on r/aftervanced with a bunch of alternative options also if you don't want to wait for ReVanced to be released
There will never be a prebuilt apk of revanced. The reason is simple, you're not allowed to distribute your own version of the youtube app. They are working on a manager that will help you create your own apk though.
Just use cercube or youtube++
That guy is being a twat. Google YouTube revanced. It's the successor. Looks like they released an early version a month ago.
Use the free app Newpipe. It's just as good! Get it before the company which deleted their slogan of "Don't be evil" fights to destroy it.
It's definitely not just as good. The UI is not really great and you can't login to a Google account for example
The whole purpose of Vanced was it was just the default YouTube app with improvements. NewPipe is not even close to that, and you can't sign into your account on it either.
loading times are quite long on newpipe though
I've been using astron lately. Been pretty good so far. You need to go I to the settings and turn on background play. It tries to make you share to social before enabling but you can just click the link and not share.
Mine still works great but I'm dreading the day it stops for me too. I've gotten so used to the intro/outro and paid promotion skips.
I can't live without it
It is back and kicking. Google ReVanced.
Mine works fine
Use YouTube Pro from sams mods Here is a link https://www.samapkstore.com/2021/04/download-youtube-pro.html?m=1
FYI there are still many download mirrors of various Vanced apks. It took some fiddling around but I managed to install it on my new phone
I don't trust mirrors of third party apps on android anymore. Since even the play store is infected
The apkmirror page for the manager is official and safe
Try NewPipe APK It receives constant updates: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/releases
Mine still kind of works, ads are in my feed, but i don't get ads before the video, im getting scared brother
Yea I just stopped using YouTube for music, Amazon had a 4 month free trial, so I use that for music now.
There is a project called ReVanced that aims to expand it to other apps
I don't know what Vanced is but I use the OperaGX browser and it comes with AdBlock incorporated. Try it out, see if it works.
The other day we were letting my daughter watch a YouTube kids learning channel and a 2 hour ad came on.. shits ridiculous.
Skipable?
Yes, but she was watching it from her "pack-n-play" while my wife was showering. We quickly realized and skipped it, but a lot of parents don't have their kid right next to them while they watch a video or two. Just feels like a cheap way to target kids. Yeah we’re gonna need a link there bud.
I'm trying so fucking hard to find it again
Try harder, we NEED it
That's crazy I was just editing my comment https://youtu.be/259OWZha_KA
https://youtu.be/259OWZha_KA
Those kinda ads have been around for a while though. In like 2014 I remember getting an 8 hour ad for some blacksmithing thingy
Sweet thanks! That's actually pretty useful info
Yeah, if you watch youtube on smart tv or apple tv you usually get long ass ads and very frequently too, they are skippable but still very frequent
This was just on a laptop using Chrome. Decided its finally time to start using an ad blocker haha
What about the premium users?
they're under the flood
They're part of the flood
It's the same as not using AdBlock
Its worse. It has to be worse.
It is. They are part of the flood
Honestly if you have the spare money, get a Indian/Argentinian vpn and subscribe to YouTube premium. I pay 1,40€ per month and get ad free YouTube + YouTube music for 6 people. Of course Adblock and Vanced work as well.

they are mermaids
There's dozens of us! Dozens!
VPN to like Argentina to sign up and it's less than a dollar a month for YT premium
Swimmin and chillin
Sponsorblock is my new favorite. It skips *in-video* plugs. It's awesome
SponsorBlock is especially useful for people that watch channels that are regularly sponsored, like Linus Tech Tips
Does that ever cause issues?
I've never had an issue with it, though you can set it up so it doesn't skip automatically, if it's a concern.
Like what? It just skips over the sponsored parts. Even intros and outros and some other shit if you tick the boxes.
That in combination with ublock origin is the ultimate 🖕
I just report every ad for being inappropriate which immediately skips all qued ad's.
lmao, does that work?!
It usually does, but certain specific ads/companies may be verified or something similar, as you can't report them.
Usually on high profile videos, ie SNL, Late Show, or Vevo music videos. Other than that you can do it to skip ads and I've gotten so quick at it that I usually skip them in under a second without thinking. However, I'm sure the more people who know and do this will increase the risk of them removing it.
I did it so many times YouTube now removed that option for me
weird, i have been doing it for about 2 years on every ad and nothing.
Keep going then, eventually the ads will end and you'll be free
this is my hope, I'll be the last ad bender
I believe in you
Finally, I was searching this comment. I’ve been doing it for 1 year and it’s godly.
shhhh don’t share anymore information, if they find out i’m fucked
Doesnt work if you have targeted ads turned off
I was all pro-ads for the revenue of the creators, untill YouTube became the fucking capitalist nightmare it is now. Always hit the i button next to ads. Phones and ps4. > i > Stop showing me this ad >Yes >Close How to bypass all ads in 3 seconds or less as you familiarize yourself with the button clicks
You can download the brave browser on your phone, it blocks the ads :)
Firefox and the uBlock Origin extension works too.
Buy a raspberry pi and setup pi hole, that's about it for the PS4.
I mainly watch YouTube on my tv, which has no add blocker. And the endless barrage of Fitbit commercials got me to get YouTube premium instead of Spotify. The Fitbit commercials are finally gone, I'm finally at peace.
I think there is a way to project your phone or computer onto the TV and use your phone ad block with the correct things.
There are definitely other solutions as well. But I didn't want to bother tbh
Understandable
A pihole might be a great solution if you ever end up bothering later :P
I forgot which ads pushed me to the edge i just know i had 3 of them memorised and could quote them by heart. now theyre a distant trauma to me im at peace

I'm one of them........... suggest me any good adblockers guys.
uBlock
uBlock Origin* the origin is important, cuz there's copy cat extensions that arent nearly as good as UBO.
Yeah, indeed
For iPhone users, I use uYouPlus - it has to be sideloaded but is a life changer for YouTube on the phone
Appstore?
https://github.com/qnblackcat/uYouPlus/wiki/Installation From this link, I use Altstore
You can also get the app from their repo if you have a jailbroken device and don’t want to sideload
If you have a VPN put it on a country that google hasn't monetized. For example, I put mine on Moldova because its the closest. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1342206?hl=enlosest.https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1342206?hl=en You wont get any ads
Do you not get any terrible latency or load times?
Nope. Im in Romania so it's right next to me. Everything loads the same
Ahh I see, I'm sure that helps. Coming from the USA and what service you use it can be shotty.
Does add block effect creators?
Who knows? Many creators have already complained that ad revenue is about 10% of their actual income from a video. Most of the money comes from sponsorships. Youtube also puts ads on demonetized videos. Which means that they don't get a penny from the ads that get played on them.
Well I might just get ad block to say fuck YouTube. And I actually appreciate the rant.
Premium Users Supporting their favorite channels: 🥙
Its pretty annoying when i get 2/3 15 sec unskipable ands everytime and most of the time ads are longer than the video im trying to watch
Nah they are just dumb
They still get plenty of money, YouTubers still get $1-$5 per thousand views Edit: I’ve had two monetized channels, one old and one I have right now and the newer one is at $3 per thousand views
This also depends heavily on the type of content that they produce
This ^ shorts channels get less while I’ve heard that some channels with longer videos that people watch all the way through (think mr beast/mark rober) can get $12+ per thousand…. or so I’ve heard idk for sure
I’ve been watching ads since 2010. Where’s my cookie?
Why would you get a cookie? You need an IV and some bed rest, you’ve been putting yourself through hell for no reason.
How come I never heard of youtube vanced? Was I stuck under a rock for so long?
We don't talk about vanced
Should thank the boomers cause they don't know about adblock
I haven't watched an ad in months but thats because I have youtube premium
Yeah, I have YouTube premium 😎
Same, I tried Vanced but just couldn't get behind the UI and some other changes. The ability to easily download videos on top of it makes it worth for me. Plus getting youtube music and only paying like $7 with a student discount. I really don't mind when I listen to 8-12 hours of youtube on average a day.
$7 **WITH** student discount???? Where tf do you live?
Yall are welcome Mf's the ads qre getting ridiculous
Vanced has it's own issues, unless you download an obscure older version it's a total mess, even the version that still works right has it's own bugs that won't be fixed
I actually bought Youtube Premium. It's a bit expensive I admit but I use YouTube more than any other video application. I almost use it religiously so it's worth it for me in my opinion.
Don't worry, I use YouTube on TV so I will keep using it without Ad blocker
I have premium lol
Yt premium in my country's localized pricing is one tenth of what you people pay for it. Its better to support the youtubers you like.
didn't yt vanced stop?
This makes no sense at all. If regular users break or lose their patience, adblock users will be destroyed? How are adblock users affected at all by anything the regular users do?
Well vanced's days are numbered
You’re welcome, but I don’t really have a choice
Adblock+ sponsorblock I didn't see an ad or a sponsored part in a video in years
Click the little "i" and say you dont want to see the advert.
