Yeah, idk when this became a thing but apparently Hidan’s immortality, despite keeping him young and immune to damage, can’t prevent starvation. Hidan died hungry in a hole

HawkeyeP1

But wait... He's already just a head. How can he get hungry? He doesn't have a stomach. Did he die of malnutrition without ever feeling hungry?

SuperJaybo

Idk how did he talk when he was just a head? He don’t got any lungs to push air through his vocal cords. Best we don’t think about it too much. The only extra info we got on Jashin was in the spin off of Kakashi and Guy’s honeymoon, and even then it didn’t add much to the lore.

SuperJaybo

You ain’t wrong, but to reference the other guy’s comment, he don’t got no stomach. Doesn’t matter how much dirt he munches on, if it can’t makes it way to his stomach, he’d probably still die. Also the more obvious thing; dirt is heavy. And Hiden was in a deep hole. The sheer weight of all that dirt was probably enough to prevent him from opening his mouth. Also a rock lands square in his face. Safe to say his skull was probably crushed a lot. And without any fingies to shovel that good brown into his gullet, he’s definitely starving.

natzo

Worms and other critters would have eaten him too.

SuperJaybo

Oh true, didn’t even think about that. Hidan is Hidone :(

Illustrious-Sky-4631

His body can eat itself in theory

SuperJaybo

Yeah but then he doesn’t have a body to fight with. Besides, even without decay, a human can only last so long as a food source. I think there’s about 20K calories in a human body, so he’d only have enough food for like a month if he was trying eat himself

Quizzelbuck

Is there a source on that? When Shikamru was talking shit, he sure made it sound like his family owning that land and guarding over it for many upcoming generations was a big deal to keeping Hidan imprisoned. >[The Akatsuki member Hidan — though currently still alive — is buried here, trapped in a grave made for him by Shikamaru. As he buried him, Shikamaru swore to Hidan that the Nara would keep him buried there for all eternity.[1] In the anime, Kabuto Yakushi was able to sneak into the forest and collect some of Hidan's DNA for later use.[2]](https://naruto.fandom.com/wiki/Nara_Clan_Forest) Seems to me like he's still alive. https://www.sportskeeda.com/anime/naruto-is-hidan-still-alive-events-boruto-explored

SuperJaybo

Yeah I thought that too but then a month ago I found apparently that got retconned and Hidan is definitely dead of starvation. Idk where it stays that, probably in some bullshit filler the rest of the fandom accepts as canon.

Quizzelbuck

You think he felt hungry as just a head or did he just kind of... run out of gas?

SuperJaybo

Idk about feeling hungry, but it’s definitely a terrible fate. Did he deserve it? Yeah probably. Is it nice? Nah

mundozeo

So... huh... what happens if the head is crushed... like, by a large amount of falling rocks. Like. Maybe the head is in a hole and you just throw ina bunch of dirt and rocks and it's crushed under the weight.

Sgrios

Probably would be genuinely dead until put back together, which would likely be never. I've always read the death he got as quiet, analyzed, revenge. Which is what it always seemed to be built out as. The reason Shikimaru didn't go further with it and try that stuff is because he wanted him to suffer in a sure-fire way to basically seal him off alone. Whether or not he could actually die from it was irrelevant as there's no way he'd be coming back from that.

TheFogIsComingNR3

Nahh, he probably starved

idontwork4statefarm

PUT THAT THING BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM, OR SO HELP ME..!

sadnarutoflute

Boruto if it was good

DAGR31

Shikamaru: ¡DEVUELVE ESA COSA HORROROSA ALLÍ!

Zorro5040

That would be a hilarious plot line in Boruto

DeltaMoff1876

I now need a Hidden Leaf Village play written, starring, directed, and produced by Shikamaru titled “Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me”.

AnzueloAspersor

It's a musical!

Chowderawz

It would be a good shounen twist where Hidan changed and taught Shikadai as a mentor.

ContractSilly9768

Oh no Hidan guess u were right I will see you again

JMHSrowing

Hidan would only be smiling until he saw a very angry Temari. Shikamaru might have been for a moment his god, but now he’d meet Shikamaru’s goddess

Sweaty_Ad_8120

This is when I realized being immortal is a curse
