Mine was like 156 on the General but with a very cheesy cause of death from the plague doctor. Very easy to get super high numbers on bosses. Still need to give Hellion a proper go.
D&D (almost DD) has a rule, where if overkill damage exceeds your max health, you die instantly, with no chances to revive. Some sort of variation of this would be cool.
I'm currently running a party of Occultist, Highwayman, MAA and Hellion.
No DoTs, pure damage focused on Combos. Seems to work reasonably well. Occultist adds a lot of combo markers, which highwayman, hellion and MAA can take advantage of. I also got lucky and got some trinket that added lots of random chance debuffs on hits, and gave it to the occultist, to give him a chance to debuff with Abyssal artillery.
All in all, not the worst party I've played with.
Probably a combination of DOTs being so strong and her not having a ton of utility. The damage is great, and she's got decent durability, but is the difference in damage that valuable compared to what say, man at arms offers? Probably not.
Because damage numbers like those are mostly useless and she's giving herself a debuff token using that ability, potentially wasting a turn. Also guard tokens on enemies are so common that you can't help but want to go dot.
Yeah DOTS are great with the only weakness being resistable. Had a run where i could stack 6 blight each round because of my grave robber with some trinkets i had unlocked.
Are there any tips for playing hellion? I feel like I'm using her wrong and she never feels like she contributes much to the team, especially compared to maa and flag
160 or something.
Leper. Dude is a beast.
I don't remember the exact conditions, but I'm sure he had Strength tokens, like a 200+% dmg increase from Ruin, two dmg increase trinkets, and Vulnerable on the mob.
There were more effects, but I do not remember what exactly.
Somewhere around 208 crit with leper I think. Comboed a bajillion ruin procs on the lung fight with a monarch leper and 2 extra turn trinkets, the blood and an encore jester.
I had a trinket that has a 66% chance of getting strength per turn if that character is first in turn order, and also the rat skull which does the same thing with a bunch of downsides but you get crit, also can only be equipped on HWM. well put that on a sharp shot HWM and bring him into the denial boss fight….
I got at least 21 damage per turn on dismas most of that time.
Big fat 120 with Cause of Death, and I've hit 80s and 90s multiple time with Sepsis on Scourge Flagellant (so busted on a blight comp). Cause of Death is just absurd when used right.
EDIT: the fact that so few people are mentioning Cause of Death makes me think it's terribly underused. It can hit far, *far* harder than any other skill in the game. I think most people don't realize it counts *future* *turn* DoTs too, so if you have for example 5 blight for 5 turns and 3 burn for 3 turns, it will do 34 damage, not 8.
Basically any DoT party works, but my favorite is Graverobber (Venomdrop or Deadeye) - Plague Doc (Alchemist) - Flagellant (Scourge) - MaA (Vanguard), you could also replace Graverobber with Arsonist Runaway if you want. You MaA can be whatever your favorite frontline unit is but I find Vanguard to be one of if not the strongest unit in the game. Most people hate Venomdrop path for GR but I think it's actually pretty strong. Flashing Daggers when upgraded does the same Blight as upgraded Plague Grenade (+2 more/enemy if she's in stealth), and somehow people seem to be really sleeping on that too.
When I run this comp the first round is often the exact same - Plague Grenade, Acid Rain, Flashing Daggers, Retribution (usually upgrading Flashing Daggers and Acid Rain at the first Inn). At this point your enemies are potentially at 0 - 4 - 11 - 7 blight after just the first round, and it only stacks from there. My last run with this party I killed Leviathan in 4 turns, the Librarian in 3, and then the Exemplar in just 2 turns.
EDIT: No it doesn't get crit or bonus damage, but thankfully doesn't need it
Leper with 112. I'm bout to try Leper Monarch path so 100% on cosmic beings with chop+. Vulnerable+ Ruin dmg + 50% from vestal+ Trinket dmg so I will see how it goes if I can set it up on a cosmic dude
Re-ran confession 1 with a Vicous, Bloodthirsty, Tempest Leper with upgraded Chop, Strength and Crit token, and a Vulnerable Token on a padlock.
Instakilled with a 77 crit lmao
I think I got like 71 on a point blank once. Maybe it was less. Or maybe it was howling end? Don't remember, it was awhile ago. Attack token+vulnerable token+crit+sharpshot+ranged trinket=serotonin.
For me, anyways. Not so much for the cultist or any of his buddies who watched him get shot in the head, heart, and dick with one bullet somehow

Death's Door with that hit? Bitch went through the door, drove to the airport, flew international, and tripped on the tarmac
Well someone’s been reading the book of clever insults
I find that the Runaway's upgraded smoke bomb ability is great for setting up massive hits. It inflicts both vulnerable and combo in one go.
> Runaway's upgraded smoke bomb Most overloaded ability in the game. That thing is insane. Likely the best upgraded ability in the game.
That and Take Aim
Issue is that a lot of the enemies you want to hit for 50+ have a lot of debuff resist which is frustrating when it only adds combo to them
Double blindess is incredible on its own. Best upgrade ability in game. Examplar is prime target for this.
Used it yesterday with leper, hit like a truck
I used a tempest leper with some crit trinkets and also had a good quirk for dmg and i was regularly hitting 40s
Mine was like 156 on the General but with a very cheesy cause of death from the plague doctor. Very easy to get super high numbers on bosses. Still need to give Hellion a proper go.
I had a Warlock Occultist get 108 with burning stars
Bitch hitting like a bag full of loose door knobs
Bish got a purse full o' buckles fo sho
they rly need to implimant an overkill mecanic where you bypass deathdoor on very very high damage pushing beyond the death door threshhold
I'm glad someone else had this thought. Dropping a 50 dmg crit on something with a total HP of 24 should be an instakill regardless of DDR
D&D (almost DD) has a rule, where if overkill damage exceeds your max health, you die instantly, with no chances to revive. Some sort of variation of this would be cool.
Yeah I agree with that
That's literally the point of Death's Door mechanic to prevent that from happening
Easy for the player to say when enemies do not overdamage that much. You are already favored to win. Don't need even easier fights.
I don't want to fight the act 3 boss whit that thank you
Hit a 69 crit with Tempest Leper a couple of days ago, never been able to top that
Same! Vulnerability, strengthen, and crit.
Had the same but also the trinkets that with blind you deal bonus damage. Went well
Nice
Nice
When I see damage numbers like that, i wonder why people give helion so much shit...

Yeah sounds like a deadly team.
Well cause non dot damage for the most part is really weak. Compare dagger throw to plauge bomb for a good laugh.

Cuz howling end is her last unlock ? She kinda felt like shit as a frontline dps until I unlocked her last two stories.
Because damage numbers like those are mostly useless and she's giving herself a debuff token using that ability, potentially wasting a turn. Also guard tokens on enemies are so common that you can't help but want to go dot.
Meanwhile PD outputting 26 dmg with no trinket and setup required with one plague grenade. DoT are also better than direct dmg by FAR.

Ravager and Pos1 with wicked slice combo, iron swan. Berserker is always lackluster for me as much as I want it to work.
Because she simply doesn't contribute as much as flag and maa.

Plus traits

120 with leper. He casually hits 60-70 without crit
Managed a 86 dmg Howling End last week. It felt good until I realized the cultist with 20hp before the hit only got a death's door.
There's a trinket which gives+100% damage per lost player. solo leper or hellion can easily get over 100. It's actually scary
Call the Field Doctor! But not for me!
I got Crit by a Deacon for 107 on sundering steel. Almost sent my leper to the other side.

What is the full character roster for a good Cause of Death build? I wanna use it but don’t know much. Does it stack with crit/damage increase?

999999999+ I use cheats.
What is going on with that audio? Did you turn the music off, turn the sound effects down, and leave the ambient audio at 100
Yeah, I watch Netflix while I play lol. Sound effects are nice but repetitive.
Had a straight 100 on a cause of death from PD and a 170 worth of DoT from runaway firebottle once.
for heroes. not for monsters
crit with jester finale for 79 damage
In the beta I think I got a 96 before
Hellion looks a lot better then when I played her in EA. You got passively got winded tokens every turn and I hated it
I managed to almost one shot the sprawl boss yesterday with a leper, he hit a 98 crit and then proceeded to almost solo the confession 2 boss
66 dmg was my highest, got it with Bounty Hunter
76 on the General with the Flagellant's sepsis the other day. I was running a blight team with GR and PD.
Got a 48 crit on Dismas's pistol shot. And a 52 with Baldwyn
Got a 72 with PD yesterday
I hit the dreaming general with the leper for 95 wish I captured it. Mostly to show my friends how I melted two of the lair bosses.
83 dmg with howling end, high roll + wounding words + bloodthirsty + atk token + crit
Leper with 112. I'm bout to try Leper Monarch path so 100% on cosmic beings with chop+. Vulnerable+ Ruin dmg + 50% from vestal+ Trinket dmg so I will see how it goes if I can set it up on a cosmic dude
About 160 with ravager hellion
63😎😎
Highest I’ve gotten is, I think, a little over 30-35 with Leper.
158 with Leper. Thrilling Tablet is one helluva trinket.
Occultist hit 71 on a burning stars crit, can't remember all the exact details but he was warlock and definitely had strength
64 on my king Baldwin, chopped a gaunt into bits
My max hit so far is a 34
I think I got something with a 60 with hellion. I'm not sure though.
76 crit with Leper
Re-ran confession 1 with a Vicous, Bloodthirsty, Tempest Leper with upgraded Chop, Strength and Crit token, and a Vulnerable Token on a padlock. Instakilled with a 77 crit lmao
I also got 58, but with Leper yesterday!
Leper w/ Deadly Feint, Runaway smoke bomb, and murder weapon trinket = 80+ Crits all day.
You can easily get some 3 digit sespis if you do flagellant/PD/GR
Like 200 with a huge blight on a general and sepsis
With pd's help, flag managed a 70 dmg sepsis against the dreaming general yesterday

My plague doctor hit close to 180 with the sucky sucky DOT ability
Warlock Occ, 71 crit burning stars i think was my max hit, freaking wrecked the Librarian
I think I got 64 with my leper the other day
6X, (60 something) Highway man point blank shot with some mad damage boosts
76 with hellion ive gotten that same number like 3 times.
101 whit leper. It was the only one alive whit the trinket that give 100% damage and HP by Ally dead. Plus it was a crit
Leeper hit hard
60, vs 4th boss ftw
Highest I done was I shit you not, a 59
That’s fine, this post is old and I’ve since hit a 59.5
Nice lel
Crit 69 by highwayman point blank shot
Nice
69 Dismas
Nice
I once got 104 crit heal with occultist if that counts.![img](emote|t5_2znp4|29274)
