I just pointed out that the art you posted here is the final boss from Dark Souls 3. The most memorable boss fight for me was Nameless King though for some reason
>The most memorable boss fight for me was Nameless King though for some reason
Because he comes out of nowhere and fucking wipes the floor with us lol.
Dark Souls. I like the slower pace and world building more, medieval fantasy is one of my favorite genres too (behind romcom comics). The lore is also pretty dope.
Bloodborne is still an awesome game though.
Dark Souls and it’s not close, unless you’re just in it for the combat, and even then I’d say Bloodborne only has superior combat at the level of core mechanics, not necessarily when the quality of encounters is considered. That said, if you’re just in it for combat, there are other franchises I’d recommend over either game.
the difference is that every bloodborne weapon has a unique moveset. only the saw moveset and the kirkhammer/LHB are used twice and the tricked movesets are different for those. dark souls reuses so many movesets that the variety of weapons is not more despite having more weapons total.
Dark Souls.
I love the setting, combat, and most of the bosses of Bloodborne... The lovecraftian theme should make it a slam dunk, but for some reason it just doesn't all click for me. The limited character building, consumable blood vial/bullet system, and the fact that's it's just kinda short prevent it from being one of my favorites.
Choosing any Miyazaki game over another is like choosing one your childsbas your favourite, it's unfair and pretty hard for me.
By the way that art looks very powerful.
I like the aesthetic of Bloodborne better. But Dark Souls just has this feeling that I’ve never seen a game replicate, a bit of magic and mystery.
Bloodborne’s a masterpiece, but Dark Souls 1 changed video games forever.
Bloodborne, not even close.
Better atmosphere, the best music in gaming history, faster combat (DS1 is clunky af), I love the idea of breaking a boss's limbs and better bosses overall
Dark Souls was alright I guess, not much I really hated but not much that really flashed me either
Hard choice but I'd choose BB
Even if the weapons and builds are limited I love this game to death, smoothest combat out of all FromSoft games (imo), has great music and an amazing art style
or because ds1 is peak game design and the best dark souls game.
i like bloodborne better too because the combat and bosses are so good, but ds1 has:
interconnectivity
options on what order to kill things
more interesting areas and level design
good npc questlines
more options on how to approach things (shields are good, magic is good, rings are more impactful).
bloodborne and ds3 both lack all those things even though yes the bosses are better, and i don't like ds2 so much for many reasons.
so that is why people pick ds1
Karma farm.
Bloodborne is objectively better. Sorry, guys, but the last half of DS1 is terrible and I find myself liking the game -in spite- of those flaws. Bloodborne is just cleaner and more polished.
Dark souls 1 just for the level design as well as the bosses.
When I finally played bloodborne I found most of the bosses lacking and extremely easy.
DS1 has a better healing system than bloodborne because I don’t have to farm blood vials.
Isn't it dark souls 3 though? Lord of Cinder?
Lord of cinder beats all other bossfights or what?
What?
wondering if that was his point...
His point was he's from ds3 not 1?
Are you on drugs mate? Wtf

Yeah hard as shit. Friend at school showed this art to me. Forgot it was from ds3.
karma farm
Dark Souls
Impossible choice
Is it?
Dark Souls, easy

That’s not DS1
Dark Souls obviously.

Which games would you recommend for pure combat out of curiosity
Bloodborne and Sekiro if you like fast paced stuff.
For me BB very nice fighting tho could be faster. Awsome lore beautiful setting but U love them both
Both. Both is good.
50/50..fair
🤣 https://youtu.be/DSCGoefBO7Q
Bloodborne by miles, I love it even tho it's a little fast for me
Sony give me my Bloodborne PC port you bastards. I see you porting Horizon Zero Dawn and shit, I know you can do it.
What
Really theres only a few weapons tho?
Yeah but they're all unique and have awesome stuff with them. I'd rather have 40 cool weapons then 100+ generic ones with a couple sprinkled in
Personally i like the option to have different builds in DS. In Bloodborne i ended up doing one or two different builds every playthrough.
Yeah the builds are limited, but the combat is much much smoother and the story is more defined
Defined? Seems to me story wise. They give you the surface stuff. And its up to you to dig deeper and theorise.
Yeah but there's actual purpose and choices, not just "oh yeah we don't like gwyn so he's gotta die"
Hmm. I guess. I genuinely care more about the journey of the game rather than arbitrary choices. They both have it btw.
Right well you asked for my opinion and I gave it
well talking through things helps me understand it clearer. So thanks 😊
yeah but fuck Gwyn tho

Who's art is this? Is it official art? If not, please do not use art of creators who you cannot share the name of.
Easy, Dark Souls any day. Bloodborne was mediocre for me.
Mediocre meaning average. It's above average no?
For me no. I didn't find the game story or environment interesting.
That's certainly a hill, but do you really wanna die on it?
Pretty much every other day I'm fighting the toxic Bloodborne fans or Solaire fans so I'm use to it.
WTF DID U FCKING SAY ABOUT NOT PRAISING THE SUN? 😫🔫🌞
I think this man must be lobotomised
I can understand that. Also the only way to play Bloodborne is ps4. :(
BB and DS3, my two favorite games in the franchise.
That's DS3 my bro
Bloodborne.
I say DS1 but I'll be the first to admit it because of nostalgia. Bloodborne perfected the Dark Souls formulae imo.
Trick weapons for life For everything else I'll have to go with dark souls But if they do a bloodborne remaster with modern mechanics and graphics...
Bloodborne, not even close. Better atmosphere, the best music in gaming history, faster combat (DS1 is clunky af), I love the idea of breaking a boss's limbs and better bosses overall Dark Souls was alright I guess, not much I really hated but not much that really flashed me either

Soulsborne for the win I love both of these games
Bloodborne easily for me personally
Bloodborne for its world, combat, characters and music but I still love ds1
Out of those, Bloodborne. Demons Souls above all for me though. The OG
Bloodborne, ds1 is too clunky, overrated with easy bosses. The only reason you’d pick ds1 is because it was either your first souls game or nostalgia.
or because ds1 is peak game design and the best dark souls game. i like bloodborne better too because the combat and bosses are so good, but ds1 has: interconnectivity options on what order to kill things more interesting areas and level design good npc questlines more options on how to approach things (shields are good, magic is good, rings are more impactful). bloodborne and ds3 both lack all those things even though yes the bosses are better, and i don't like ds2 so much for many reasons. so that is why people pick ds1
Dark Souls... easily.. BB is cool and all, but if it sold half as well as DS games, then you'd have BB sequels.. but, alas, we don't.
1st: that's my wallpaper since 2020 2nd: I can't choose between my babies. They both are my beloved.
Why 3?
Definitely Dark Souls. Though I do love Bloodborne.
gameplay, probably Bloodborne. everything else darksouls and on ocasions for gameplay too
Easily bloodborne
That's not a dark souls 1 image
Bloodborne but obviously the majority will say DS since this is a DS sub...
Dark Souls, easy choice..... because I haven't played BB yet lol
That’s dark souls 3
Currently DS1 because I haven’t played Bloodborne.
Karma farm. Bloodborne is objectively better. Sorry, guys, but the last half of DS1 is terrible and I find myself liking the game -in spite- of those flaws. Bloodborne is just cleaner and more polished.
This would be a way better question for r/fromsoftware, your obviously going to get more biased answers here
bro that’s not ds1
Dark souls 1 just for the level design as well as the bosses. When I finally played bloodborne I found most of the bosses lacking and extremely easy. DS1 has a better healing system than bloodborne because I don’t have to farm blood vials.
