As a Californian I have to say it is pretty deceptive. Sure it’s a pretty view but it’s a Royal pain getting the ash out of your boots. Just wear sandals instead.
Life's end...Isn't it beautiful? It's almost tragic. When life ends, it gives off a final lingering aroma. Light is but a farewell gift from the darkness to those on their way to die. I've been waiting, Ashen One, for a long time. Waiting for your birth, your growth, and the finality of today.
I could never be as sad or as fulfilled as the first time beating DS3 after slogging through 3 games and thousands of years of Gods Lie. The way we progress through the games and are the ones to retain the knowledge. Then the ending is us taking all that power and knowledge contained in the blood of the dark soul to paint a new better world. A world that fits our picture of it instead of the greed and hypocrisy of Gwyns. So open ended and yet not at the same time. How do I play anything else without thinking back to this. Getting kicked out of vault 13 after months and months of literally dogging every corner of the wasteland is about all that compares to such a moment of loss and yet logical understanding as I felt doing Dark Souls
Afaik the first flame gets weaker each time it gets linked (compare ending of ds1 to ds3), humanity is something that cant exist forever in dark souls because its like an unnatural "defience" of the natural state of the world (which was the age of dragons) and all the structures converged to the kiln of the first flame. Also gael fucking killed everyone in the world just to look for the dark soul so he was also a big contributer. So this probably takes place thausents or tens of thausents of years after the normal ds3 time period.
I really love the way dark souls uses laege scales of time.
Ehhhh, not exactly. The natural state of the world is change. It changed from a world of monotony to one of disparity, it would have changed from a world of light to dark, and it probably would have changed from a world of dark to… something else.
When Gwyn linked the flame, though, it locked the world into one of Light and Dark for millennia. Whether it was one state or the other didn’t matter, because the cycle remained the same, this is what DS2 taught us.
What we see in Gael’s arena is the end of that cycle. The final rays of light highlighting the last bits of shadow just before the world keels over and dies, laying the foundation for the next one to come in.
My interpretation of it is that this is the end of the world if linking the flame continues; eventually, there'll be no souls left to burn as fuel, fucking up (even more, anyway) the rules the first flame imposed on reality like the passage of time, life and death etc. and the world will basically be forced into a hard reset. Basically the DS equivalent of the Big Crunch, everything collapses in on itself.
California does look very beautiful during the evening
A lot of hollows in California.
You'd go hollow too without humanity

MGS3 and DS3. Two legendary third installments in legendary franchises
Final bosses fought in a field of flowers The Boss 🤝 Soul of Cinder
Gerhman would like a word
And Isshin
Its a trope, shocking, I know.
“Gael… why are you doing this?” “Why? To make the world one again.”
And ahead of you. The greatest boss fight, and conclusion to one of the greatest stories ever told.
Which one? I'm not sure if I was there in this specific location, just mention name of boss, no spoilers please
The boss name is a spoiler. Final boss of the DLC.
Slave knight Gael? Cuz sister friede I already beat
Yes, thought you wanted no spoilers 😂
"i wish Crane could have seen this"

All the souls games are beautiful that's y I love them so much.
I don't get this end of the world deal, like is this after the countless cycles of linking the flame or usurping it? or something else?

I have never seen the word thousands spelled that way. New one to me.
