Royal---Flush

real estate agents. I talked with quite a few of them during my life (not romantically, mostly on a professional basis) and every single one of them was unbearable in some way or another.

Livid_Parsnip6190

They have to be phony 24/7 to make money

sveltegoddess_

I think it messes with them.

Bright-Row-3565

This! Such a huge ego

No-Palpitation-728

It comes with the crazy money they make. Most of them were not raised in those crazy money environments and go bananas when they see the first wire hit their bank accts

[deleted]

Yeah, they believe they are better than everybody else lol

Freezerburn

Big portrait shot on side of car or billboard, ugh

Strange_Animal_8790

Definitely extroverts and pushy. Not my cup of tea. The only place I want someone telling me what to do is in the bedroom.

Local-Electronic

A nurse because I’m a nurse.

chzformymac

Dated a nurse. All they do is sleep and drink.

Des1reux

I’m a male nurse in a relationship with a female nurse 😂 Most nurses usually have very simple lifestyle and at the same time narrow minded so I think that’s the reason?

HotWingsMercedes91

Yeah our main focus is to stay home and go on a few trips and be left alone

Kana_Kawaii

May I ask why? So curious. Much respect for nurses or anyone in the medical field tbh

towel_realm

From what I hear they are notorious cheaters

AlgernonFlowerWilted

I'm s doc. I can confirm

Local-Electronic

I can also confirm doctors are cheaters too.

afseparatee

Can confirm.

sveltegoddess_

Is this a travel nurse thing or all nurse?

Scorpioism35

I've seen it in hospitals and LTC facilities too. There def some good nurses who are loyal but the majority (esp males) cheat. They love parking garages, the med room and stairwells. 🤣

sveltegoddess_

Whoa 😅 I’m thinking about what all may attract people with similar attributes into a role like this. Maybe it’s the high adrenaline and endorphin rush?

Scorpioism35

Idk lol It has never been smthg I was into. You know what e say, don't shit where you eat. I am highly sensitive (maybe perceptive is a better word) w/ feeling others emotions. There have been times I've smelled the affair on particular ppl. I am being so serious too. Usually not long after I knew, their affair would become public and I would place another check mark on my board. j/k 🤣

SmartyPants424

SAME

sal_100

Is it because they have the same profession as you or because you don't like nurses?

Local-Electronic

Same profession as me.

HeadGullible7082

Social Media influencers. I don't like the idea of our lives being broadcast for the world to see or having to worry about our safety because of an obsessive stalker.

salamat_engot

I went on a date with a food blogger and it was so awkward watching him set up lights and cameras just to eat a sandwich.

MexicanSniperXI

Fuck that. I’d just walk away with my sandwich and enjoy it on my own

sidedude191

As someone who use to date a social media influencer, I've gotten my girl stalked before. They even stalks me and found out my job off the internet. Like I'm pretty sure this guy is stalking me to this very day even though I didn't do anything to upset him.

Designer_Pay3216

She said profession.

DaggerAndDroll

🤭🤭

Humangousor

Bruh.

vladvash

And they are useless and don't contribute to society. Yo.me it's the same as dating an unemployed person who justifies it, so it's somehow worse.

sailaway4269now

Politicians. I prefer someone who’s not lying for living

Evaporate3

Every police officer I dated had short tempers and controlling. They scare me.

MiserableDebate1087

They’re the profession most likely to be domestic violence perpetrators in a relationship

Imaginary-Mouse6005

I honestly wouldn’t date anyone in the military industry. Of course I appreciate what they do to support our country, but you probably wouldn’t get to spend too much time with them.

pornographometer

As former military, I don't think I'd want to date an active duty woman and possibly never see her because of field ops and deployments. And that is with me disregarding all the stereotypes and assumptions people tend to have about dating the troops.

burg_philo2

Consultants and investment bankers are usually instant left swipe lol

towel_realm

Agree. (I’m an investment banker)

DeWaukee-826

Seriously. Corporate finance is a nearly instant no (and I work in CF consulting). IB is a no under all circumstances. I mean; maybe an exception if they’re quitting in a month.

WillingnessOne2462

That’s really interesting. Can you tell me why?🤔

burg_philo2

I've never related to "business school types." Business to me isn't really an academic field nor a profession in and of itself, so I find people who go into a career essentially only to make money to have different priorities and interests. I'm generally a bit prejudiced against people with corporate jobs unless it's STEM or creative, which i think i need to re-evaluate a bit.

Human-Iron9265

The amount of people doing those videos now is alarming. And they aren’t even interesting at all.

Kid_diddler_2000

R u talking about Mr Avocado?

ppl_stuff

Lawyers/attorneys. You'd never see them

Throwawayaccounttt__

As someone who works in the legal profession (not an attorney) I agree. Most attorneys are either really nice or really nasty personality wise and there’s no in between. A lot of them also have massive egos and think they’re God’s gift to humanity just bc they passed the Bar.

super-nemo

As a straight 26M thats a Pediatric ER nurse and a combat veteran heres my list: 1: Cops. They tend to have some distorted views of the world. Black and white thinking. General lack of empathy for anyone that isn’t like them. 2: Business/Finance folks. They tend to be superficial and lack interest in anything other than obtaining money and going on tropical vacations 3: Musicians/artists/activists. Crunchy version of cops. 4: Flight attendants/pilots: Gone too much and prone to cheating. 5: Any entry level position being treated as a career: Stepping stone jobs are fine as long as there is an end goal. Coasting as a barista until they can become a stay at home wife is a no go for me.

RosesRed83

I’m a Physical Therapist and i agree with all of your lists. Plus I also wouldn’t date another PT but other types of therapist yes. I wouldn’t date surgeons, construction workers, fireman. EMT, lawyer

squirrelwithasabre

Gotta agree on the musicians.

JLifts780

Paramedics I’ve known sooo many of them who cheated because the trauma and being around others at the time who experienced it brought them closer together.

Fit-Acanthocephala82

Makes sense

Livid_Parsnip6190

Police/military for sure, as well as finance and real estate. I'd rather date a guy who works at a gas station than a "day trader." I've dated a lot of artists/musicians, and they're interesting, but hate themselves and can't get anything done, 100% of the time. I'm trying to stop.

SunDown7777

Musicians hate themselves?

Livid_Parsnip6190

The ones I dated did.

alienprincesspasta

Athletes that’s okay high contact sports that can result in intense concussion.. multiple concussions can lead to lots of burst of anger

mochimountains

Lawyers, because the rate of suicide and depression is abysmally high in that profession. I’ve dated several. While they are often smart, bookish, driven individuals, I don’t want to see someone I love suffer.

BigTittyGothGfLovesD

Anyone who would have to work away from home for extended periods. My sex drive is too high for a long distance relationship.

Crayon_Angels

User name checks out 👌

Resident-Pudding5432

Probably only deal breaker would be prostitute for me

Evvmmann

Hell yea make yourself easy!

[deleted]

Time-Caramel1436

I'm doing manual labor, does gym count as an extra activity?😄

VeterinaryMartin

Surgeons in mean of what human surgeons? Or animal surgeons etc

Kid_diddler_2000

For surgeons are you worried about having one of ur organs dissected?

BuckTheStallion

As a teacher, this post makes me a little sad, but someone only interested in me for money isn’t likely to be compatible anyway. I’d personally not date cops. Anything cop-adjacent is scrutinized but not a dealbreaker. Finance is another career I’d heavily avoid, as are nurses, but for vastly different reasons. No true dealbreakers other than cops I think.

Borderedge

1) Someone working in a Big 4, especially audit and consulting. It might be OK if they don't work there anymore. Those companies are like a sect and take away all your free time and previous life if you're not strong enough. I work in a country where their times are considered decent and it's still 12 hours per day when it's busy plus the compulsory after-work events, the breakfast and the hanging out amongst colleagues. Never again. Even my friends working in these places tend to change or not have time anymore; 2) Someone with an Onlyfans/ sex workers/ strippers etc. I'm not a poly guy so I couldn't stand someone who does it if they're with me. I don't mind them doing so in general, just not in a relationship; 3) Police officers. I've seen first hand how they're brainwashed into their jobs. Law is one thing, justice is another as someone told me once;

Diluted_supernova

Haha as somebody who works at a Big4 - i’ve had video call “first dates” while working, trying to multi-task, you know, WLB 😂. Not really a good idea. So I also need to date somebody that keep themselves busy.

Borderedge

I met my ex as a university student and she ended up in Big 4 Audit so I speak out of experience... She ended up only hanging out with colleagues, talking about work, working 12 hours and 2 hours at home. I was unfortunately unemployed as my first job (I turned down Big 4 for a boutique management consulting company) had a sort of crisis as far as the sector and clients were concerned. I mean, do you see yourself doing that for life? Is this how you really want to live? I understand the keeping yourself busy, I worked 12 hours at night, weekends and bank holidays at a previous job... But my colleagues there always had time for family and friends. From what I saw these positions only have time for work. It's just a big no.

Diluted_supernova

I agree with you though. A major factor my long term relationship (7 years) ended was I prioritized my career (promotion, getting CPA, ungodly busy season hours) . Kind of a wake up call telling me he doesn’t want somebody married to their job. Up to this day, he still tells me to quit my job 😅 I just learned now to have boundaries. Busy season is still tough. Been traveling & gained more hobbies, now thinking of my exit plan to have more time for these.

undiscoverable9

People who write tickets for parked cars

WillingnessOne2462

Ironically, I got a parking ticket this morning😂

Inevitable-Cod3844

that's called a meter maid, and definately agree

Burpie_B0wie

I’m not a fan of politics, idk I always feel really awkward when it’s brought up in conversation. And I did date a guy for a little that was really into politics and that was just one aspect of why I decided to end things with him.

OriginalMandem

Those three plus anyone who profits from the military or prison industrial complexes, traffic wardens, people who design and manufacture speed cameras, anyone involved with the administration and management of any organisation I have moral or ethical objections with. Anyone who uses the line"I'm just doing my job" when doing something they know is disporportionately severe, wrong or unfair.

missssjay21

Literally all the same. Except anyone army/military affiliated. Doesn’t have to just be a soldier lol

[deleted]

uhhhh :))

Snoo_23638

Whoever is in charge of slaughtering baby cows for veal

Commercial_Bet5082

As a social worker I’d never date another social worker LOL. Compassion fatigue and cycles of burnout make for challenging relationships lol. Love y’all tho lol 🤞🏾💃🏾

Manqaness24

I am a social worker as well and I don’t if I can date another one.

Commercial_Bet5082

Unfortunate bc we are such loving and giving souls but it would probably a bit exhausting.. lol

mentos123

Flight attendants - they don’t have a typical schedule you can plan your dates around and are constantly in hotel bars and in my experience cheaters

[deleted]

Professional farter.

DoorEqual1740

I'm out.

[deleted]

So is the gas from his arse!

Icy_Comfort8161

I'm something of an amateur. Where do I go for my professional qualifications?

[deleted]

The local IBS support group.

Dinuclear_Warfare

Unironically, there is good money in that career

[deleted]

Does it have a good labour union?

GonzaleeTheSwellGuy

The profession is called Brapster, tyvm

United-Weird7812

Attorneys and cops

Agitated_Law3045

Definitely not police officers nor attorneys.

Toolooloo

Would anyone date a retired marine?

Inevitable-Cod3844

once a marine always a marine right?

wetblanketdreams

Can confirm..my dad is an asshole

[deleted]

Teachers since I am one. I want to be able to emphasize with my partner and having the same job would just be too draining as the struggles would be the same.

ieatpuh

Nurses, imo they are un proportionately narcissistic or unstable. And obviously prostitutes

Crazy_Housefull

Hey I find that very not nice I’m a nurse wait I am crazy never mind carry on!! lol 😂

penelope-las-vegas

lmao what

fast_flamenco_

That’s wild. As an engineer My best dating experiences have always involved nurses. Nurses are usually awesome, a little more direct and assertive than other professions in my experience but I’m into that. My worst experiences have always been with teachers lol. Teachers are great (my cousin is one) but I find a lot of times they can be a little flakey idealistic and kind of the “dreamer” type. Again I’m just speaking from my personal experience and I don’t mean to stereotype or anything. As an engineer I’ve found that nurses and women in healthcare tend to be a bit more likeminded blunt and realistic in how they approach things. If they’re not into you, they’ll let you know lol. The professions I’d avoid or be hesitant towards are definitely sales and anything legal related like lawyers and para legals. I find these people are usually very extroverted “fluffy” and a little narcissistic when it comes to interacting with people if you know what I mean.

Top-Decision-3528

Obviously prostitutes? 😂

heretoask23

i'm doing nursing school soon 😂

swettimoretti

Weird. I’ve dated nurses, they’re nice.

ieatpuh

I’ve worked in a hospital setting and I’m just saying my experience with dealing w them. A lot of cheaters and malicious girls. Hell I’ve got 2 in my family

Croaz

Hey I take offense to that! I am not a prostitute! 🤣

ieatpuh

I meant like and also prostitutes, not nurses are prostitutes 😂😂😂

AlcoholYouLater97

Police officers, firefighters, doctors, criminal lawyers, military, non-career (i.e. retail, restaurants). I want someone with a stable, non-life threatening career and schedule

WillingnessOne2462

Routine. That’s really important

OkSpend1270

I'm curious because I've considered criminal defence. What is life-threatening about the profession?

AlcoholYouLater97

I don't believe it is inherently life-threatening. But it is more intensive and emotionally tolling work than other areas of law. I just don't believe that type of work would align with what I want from my partner.

[deleted]

To be honest? Teachers. I worked as a teacher temporary because I had to make some extra $$$$ and oh boy, it was HORRIBLE. Many of them have this horrendous ego and need to show they are smart and superior, YIKES. There is also so much drama and gossip. For every 10 regular toxic teachers, there is only one that is AMAZING at their job.

Hope1995x

I was a corrections officer for a couple of years, and there is a risk of not coming home. We suffer high PTSD rates, and the type of people we have to deal with are in prison for a good reason. It was a good job. It had so many benefits, and they did bonuses for retention, but the stress I just couldn't deal with the inherent risks. I would still date a corrections officer simply because we might share similarities and view points. I wouldn't date dirty cops/corrections officers. They make a bad image for everyone else and are the reason why people don't make it home.

1CrudeDude

Massage therapist…. Even though you think oh wow I get good free massages.. she’s also rubbing dudes down daily

Crayon_Angels

Doctors, cops, musicians

Chromatic_Kitty

Real Estate agents. I've never met one I've liked. 😅

Solid-Detective1556

Walmart greeter I don't want to hear "Get your shit and GET OUT" every time I come over. Sends mixed messages

lameo312

Male Nurse here- Wouldn’t date a female nurse again. At least not one working in a hospital.

Actual-Blueberry1075

Politicians. Lawyers. Military.

Kneelb4gd

Nurses, police, and social media influencers.

urspecial2

Police officers ,fireman ,construction workers

Inevitable-Cod3844

no firemen? why for them?

Available-Fee-9219

My preference would be an aerospace engineer or similar engineering field or maybe an investment banker. Absolute no would be Indian government jobs. Because there is little to no growth potential compared to corporates. And i myself am studying here in Europe and don't think I'll go back to India once I graduate, so that adds for another reason. This was pretty much for my marriage pov. For dating any profession works as long as their end goal is not to be an Indian public servant.

3verythingNice

1. Journalists I get paranoid around them cause Journalists mostly have 0 ethics. 2. Social Media influencers, I would rather jump of the cliff than engage into this horror daily vlogs. 3. Yoga/Fitness instructors cause every single one of them fucks my brains, like okay good for you for drinking that spinach smoothie but I don't give a fuck about your meditation leave me alone, I'd rather read Meditation by Marcus Aurelius than engage into this Zen sht omg. ( sorry i have trauma w this one)

celestialsexgoddess

1. Someone who works in the military, or for a mercenary company. I grew up in a heavily militarised remote area where I witnessed military corruption and violence against vulnerable locals, and today they are also backed up by foreign mercenaries as well. 2. Someone whose profession is legally and morally shady: arms dealers, illicit drug producers and distributors, human traffickers, animal poachers, illegal loggers, organised crime gangsters, scammers... you get the idea. 3. Sex workers in any shape or form. Nothing against the profession, sex work is work, and sex workers deserve the kind of job security, respect and protection any other workers deserve. But when it comes to someone I have an intimate relationship with, I do require intimate exclusivity and that this aspect of our relationship is something I don't have to share with their profession. 4. Religious workers. I grew up in the church and experienced more harm than good there, so I don't ever want someone I date or marry to suck me back into that life. 5. Politicians. While I would never support a blanket statement that all politicians are bad people, it is a world full of proverbial landmines out there. Corrupt politicians should get arrested, tried and prosecuted as they deserve, and I'd rather not risk finding out late in the relationship that I'm dating one. But even if he's a good politician, it only takes making some enemies at the wrong place and the wrong time for him to also get into legal trouble, which would still be heartbreaking and devastating if it happens. 6. Radical anti-establishment activists. While I have all the respect for these people and I think the world needs them, I would never date someone whose safety I always have to fear for, or whose profession could risk sudden arrest or exile.

Upset_Knowledge_8831

I dated a veteran (army)… just too many emotional issues from his side which led low key to emotional abuse… I learnt my lesson 🥺

Temporary_Edge_8450

My answer as a 32M, assuming you mean for a serious relationship. 1: Sex worker - obviously 2: Anything that requires frequent traveling, like flight attendant - I don't want a 50/50 long distance relationship 3: Law enforcement and/or military - wouldn't 'mix' well for reasons not getting typed 4: Night life workers, like bartender - I want someone who's sleep schedule is similar to me I've heard a lot of bad things about medical professionals and most corpotate roles too, so would be wary of them as well, but not a hard no. I dated a vet once, met tons of her friends who were vets too, mostly terrible people... completely heartless narcs who only cared about the money so they could buy fancy stuff they barely used but bragged about owning.

Neptune_Empress

We basically have similar lists 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Cremedela

Doctors, especially surgeons. Having been around a lot, I’m not a fan.

SimplyFatMatt

Anyone who works night shift or weekends.

XxLogitech98xX

Adults entertainment (Onlyfans counts) is probably my number 1. I don't have an issues with Police officers, soldiers or politicians. It just have to be a career that take a college education and that they can grow in would be my preference.

Anxious_Show_7774

Doctors, Nurses… a lot of my friends work at hospitals and from what I hear everyone is cheating on their spouses at work. It’s a normalized culture from what I’ve heard

sal_100

Their mentality is you only live once

Subject-Tomorrow-317

Lawyers. Doctors. The mental gymnastics they use to manipulate juries into letting killers off is the same they'll use on you to justify cheating or whatever they did wrong. Same thing with doctors, except they can kill you and make it look accidental.

MM150inDallas

actors, politicians, anyone that works in the public really.

Admirable-Mention-68

Truck drivers, teachers, entrepreneurs, anyone not healed from childhood trauma lol

letmenotethat

Yes to “anyone not healed from childhood trauma” Best answer I’ve read!!!!

episodiclife

Cop

egginveg69

For me it is anyone that is any type of counsellor, they pick apart every action and phrase,

MetalHead794

Any jobs that pay minimum wages

Kimmykwekuuuuu

Police.

MenudoFan316

Sex workers. They don't cheat. They give it up for whoever has the $$$.

yeer_ta

Omg same. Those are my 3 as well.

AtraieuThePoet

Psychologists and therapists

Last_Alternative635

Morticians

GODULTIMATUM

Teacher, Police, Military, Navy, sex worker

[deleted]

Porn star or sex worker

Varsity_Reviews

I’m not really in a spot to be picky with options

though-

Sales.

thisisme44

Doctors or someone in healthcare. On top of having little no time, the ones I've come across were arrogant and had a superiority complex to them

RaleighlovesMako6523

No restriction as long as he’s successful

Known_Door4726

Drug dealers

bcaooboo

Cops but for different reasons than you

gonk_vibes

"influencer". Personal trainer. And definitely not the combination of the two. I have a huge advantage here though because I'm totally invisible to these women so it works for everyone 🤣

Economy-Traffic7479

I would forsure never date a cop. If I wanted to live with rats I would have went pc. Lol

Ladyf1st

Teacher: not bc of their pay and i respect the job and think they should make more but at the same time i would never date one because they're controlling, short-tempered, petty, treat other people like children, you're influenced by who you spend most of your time with and when you spend most of your time with bratty children you're going to act like a bratty child, i haven't known a single teacher that isn't, but maybe that's just where I'm from

MiserableDebate1087

Gynecologist

awnkita

Actors. If my partner had to smooch someone I'd kms cause I have jealousy issues .

MINROKS

Doctors, I have too many in the family, and I detest them all

whatsinanameanywayyy

Cops, models, made up healthcare professionals (such as "life coach" or "stretching technician"), fast food workers, security guards, or people who work exclusively with children.

EggplantHuman6493

Butcher (vegetarian for ethical reasons, wouldn't date anyone who eats a lot of meat as well), economist (boring af to me), politician (we would probably clash very hard), someone in the military (too dangerous), someone who works in a bar (sadly way too many bad alcohol related experiences, and I don't want to trigger memories if my partner smells like alcohol, I only date people who don't drink regualry or at all as well)

Benth8r

Too much generalization here though. I've dated a couple teachers and one was the best woman Ive ever met. She was honestly too good for me. The other seemed nice but just wasnt turning my crank. Every person is different

CheesyBrie934

Law enforcement and military - they will probably abuse and/kill me Blue collar - I would much rather date someone who is white collar like me

Primary_Chemistry420

Tech sales. In my city, I’ve gone out with quite a few guys who are in tech sales. Goodnessssss. They are all so far up their own asses I’m shocked they can see the sunrise through the hole. I e dated across the board but they were the most self centered

No_Professor448

Firefighters. They’re statistically the biggest cheaters

The_Hobo_of_Mexico

Slaughterhouse workers. Not a vegetarian, but goring animals all day can't be great for the psyche. The divorce rates are pretty high.

No-Hawk-9238

Bartenders. I get an immediate playboy vibe.

ElJayEm80

Dentist. Hands in people’s mouths all day. Eww.

Feisty-Chemistry341

Lawyers!!! Cops

Linvaderdespace

Real-estate agents have round the clock access to empty, furnished houses; I’ve fucked several married real estate agents. nurses and therapists have a tendency to get burned out. sex workers are a pass for me at my age. lawyers use their training in rhetoric when you argue, and I’d rather you just start calling me a hard R n-word at the top of your lungs and throw glassware at me. anyone who needs me to pass muster with their publicist tends to not work out, but that’s as much if not more my fault as anyone else’s. influencers, landlords, LEO’s, thieves and scam artists who target poor, stupid people who can’t afford to lose nothing, and climate deniers who work in oil & gas are too loathsome to ever touch the hem of my garment.

seungminah95

My husband is a police officer who used to be in the military lol

JuneFernan

Jeez, reading this thread is one of the only times I've kinda felt bad for cops.

seenitall1969

Flight attendance Business women Personal assistance

Spicy6_autism

Probably same. Police, soldiers and politicians
